Just brought home this new clone on May 10th. Seemed to be pretty healthy from the get go. Keeping her outside in the sun from here on out.
This is my first grow and first grow journal. Any constructive feedback is greatly appreciated!
The plant was topped and its showing good signs of bushing up. Did I top the plant too early? It was topped at the 5th node. Big fan leaves are starting to take over a lot of the plant. Very excited to see where it goes from here.
She was put into a 5 Gal bucket (with proper drain holes) with Fox Farm Happy Frog Soil. Secondary growth is really starting to take off! Still getting tons of direct sunlight!
Only a couple photos from week 4 veg. Went on vacation this week and had a buddy keep an eye on the plant for watering purposes. Cant wait to see what she looks like when i get back!
Amazing growth while I was out of town! She is loving her 5 gallon bucket and soil! I started some LST this week to help open up the middle of the plant to help encourage new growth.
We received an insane amount of rain this week! 10-15 inches!! It just never stopped. Moved the plant inside during the night to try and stop from over saturating the soil. Worked out well, when the plant got sun after 5 days of clouds, she perked right up! Started to remove any lower leaves that weren't getting any sunlight and anything that was growing towards the middle of the plant. Needed to help it with some light penetration in the middle.
Another week of rain storms! She was a trooper and stuck through all the wind and rain! Starting to see some good secondary growth from the LST. Shes bushing up so quicly, so i removed some more big fan leaves that were blocking some sunlight to the middle of the plant.
For some reason it wont let me add a Week 7 Veg, so I have Week 7 and 8 together in this week. The plant has done well after all the rain we received. i haven't had to water the plant by hand once in 2-3 weeks. This week (Week 7) is the first week I will be able to water the plant with the Fox Farm Soil Nutrients. After I added the nutrients, the plant showed a sign similar to "claw" leaves, which after research found out that it could be from too much nitrogen. (I knew it wasn't from over watering, because the soil was super dry and the bucket was light). So I immediately flushed the plant with tap water at a pH of 7. That seemed to help the plant perk right back up by the following day. Didn't see many spots on the plant leaves either. Also removed more leaves from the lower half of the plant to help promote new growth upwards. (I am defoliating too much? I don't want to stunt any growth from the plant in the future).
Started off the week with some new LST for the plant since the branches are getting so long. Still trying to pull the outer branches away from the center so i can continue to get good growth on the interior if the plant. Added a Light,pH,Moisture meter to the bucket to get a better idea of watering schedule and pH of the soil. I have been watering the plant every 3-4 days rotating fresh water with pH of 6.7 and nutrient feed with a pH of 6.7. The plant seems to be very happy even though we have such high humidity right now. String new growth is showing on every one of the new tops and the canopy is pretty even so the LST seems to be working nicely.
