Day 1 - Planted 4 in rapid rooters soaked in water with a PH of 6.2 and with less than a 1/4 tsp of TPS Billions. Planted the seeds, covered them up and put them in the dome.
Day 2 - I see the first peeking through. Rapid rooters are crazy. I planted these on the 18th and took the first photo at 10PM. !0 PM on the 20th and the first is coming up. These rapid rooters have been frozen for 7 weeks. I thawed them overnight in the fridge. Then soaked them in distilled water, squeezing out all of the air and then taking them out and squeezing them out about half way as seen at https://www.howweedgrow.com. The water had a PH of 6.2 and I added about 1/8 tsp of TPS Billions because why not. I then put them in the seed tray and tried to keep the humidity around 80% and the temp around 80 F.
Day 3 - All 4 have sprouted. I will be preparing their next containers. 1 Gallon airpots.
Day 4 - Transplanted them into their 1-gallon pots. TPS billions around where they are planted, but the soil was already moistened when I got it ready a few days ago so no water yet. I did not bury the rooter to be sure they could breathe. Used the photone app to get the light near 250 PAR. The light is on its lowest setting about 22" above the tops of the plants. I have a humidifier keeping the tent near 80% humidity for now. The exhaust, fans and lights are set to run 18 hours in the controller 69 pro. I t has been great so far. I like being able to control everything from my phone.
Day 5 - #2 was the second to sprout but was quickly the tallest. It is at 1.5 inches and the others are just barely reaching 1 inch. #4 had one of its Cotyledons was stuck straight up. I noticed this afternoon that it is coming down now. 😅
Day 6 - Added the c02 bag from my other grow. It was not doing well in the 2x4, but seems to be holding well at 1238 PPM in the 5x5. I know it is early, but it is just sitting there wasting away and I did not realize that your grow space needs to be enclosed for the c02 to be effective.
Day 9 - They have been a little slow to get started, but number 2 and 4 are starting to take off. I imagine the others will be right behind them.
Day 11 - Start of week 2. Things are looking good so far. #3 is the runt (pun intended) and #2 is showing a slight deformity, but otherwise no issues.
Day 13 - Watered them today. Water PH was 6.6 for 1 and 2 and 6.8 for 3 and 4. PPM was 75 + 156 for the water's initial PPM. I will list the nutrients I am using, but listing the amount of each nutrient used is difficult because I make solutions for veg and for bloom and then add them to get a PPM that slowly increases. This just makes it very hard to say exactly how much of anything is going in per feed.
Day 23 - adjusted light height and set it to 2. PAR was reading between 300 and 350.
Day 24 - Feeding today. PH of 6.8 for 1 & 2 and 6.6 for 3 and 4. The PPM was 440 (300+140 for water). Runoff was 6.1 and 6.2 and the PPM was between 720 and 780.
Day 25 - Topped both 1 and 4 at the 5th node. 2 and 3 need another day or 2, I think.
Thank you for stopping by! 😎
Day 45 - They had a hard time the last few weeks. I learned that I am not a fan of airpots, but the problem was actually that I topped them while they were having nutrient problems. The soil was pretty hot 1800 PPM +. I eventually moved them into the 5 gallon pots and flushed them. They are starting to recover now thankfully.
Thanks for stopping by! 😎
Day 59 - added scrog. Going to flip them at the beginning of the new week. They aren't nearly as big as I'd like, but I am going to try a new setup once this grow is completed.
Thanks for stopping by! 😎
Bad soil makes for a difficult grow. This is the same soil as my last grow which had lots of problems too. I've since switched to RDWC mostly because of this. My advice: Get your soil from somewhere local that gets a good amount of business so you don't get old soil.
