Hi all, This is my first grow in around 10 years! I'm relatively experienced but this is a new set-up and a first go with autos so, let's begin the begin. I popped on a damp paper towel, closed in a zip lock and put in a draw where it's warm and dark. Temp was 21c with humidity at 80% (yes, I had a thermometer in the bag). A pretty fool proof method. One bean, one sprout. It took about 24h to show. In my excitement I planted a little early with only about 2mm of taproot showing. I also planted a bit too deep, up to my first knuckle, so it took around 4 days to break the surface but that's not a problem. I don't particularly like potting up so it went straight in to a 10l Root Nurse cloth pot. 90% Peat free Westlands John Innes with 10% Perlite and a layer of gravel at the bottom to help with drainage. I know that's low on the Perlite but I miss ordered. That's it for now, tune in next week for a new and exciting episode.

End of the first week and all seems well. For the first 4 days I was watering 3 or 4 times a day with a spray bottle. I then started introducing small amounts of water directly, just enough to keep things moist for 24h, before doing a first full water and feed on day 7. The natural Ph of our water here is 6.5 raising to just under 7 with nutrients added. The only issue I have is that I'm struggling to get my humidity to the optimal level. I've tried the old tricks of hanging a wet cloth or putting a pan of water in the tent but the light I use gives off so little heat it doesn't evaporate. I can live with 50%. At this point I'll let you know that I'm not using any sort of extraction in this setup. Smell and air circulation are not a problem here but space and noise are. I have a 600w light I might move in for flower so I might have to rethink but for now we're good. Anyway, it's day 7 and I just gave her her first heavier water and some food. A little early maybe but only a very small amount. .25 of a ml of BB grow in 500mls of water tested at just under 7ph and 21 degrees. We'll see if she freaks out. That's it for now. Hi all, End of the second week and it's been a busy one. I started the week still using my 200w seedling/veg light. On day 10 she was showing a little bit of discolouration and one slightly mutated leaf. I didn't think this anything to worry about but I did notice my pH was a little high. I fed with 1ml of grow to the liter with a dash of lemon to counter the alkaline. The pH read better and she seemed to like it. On day 11 I changed to my bigger light, a Mars hydro ts600. There was a little bit of "leaf prayer" and temp fluctuation for a day or two but after some finagling she settled nicely. Daytime temps, depending on outside ambient temperature, hit a high of around 28 with a low at night of 20. I'm watering every other day, feeding twice a week and misting on dry days. I have very soft water here so from next week I'll be adding .25ml of CalMag as a preventative. Day 14 and she's showing a lot of bushing-out underneath but is still quite squat. I did choose this strain because I wanted something short and fast but I'm expecting a growth spurt in the coming days, all being well. This being my first auto I've decided to do little training, I want to see what she does, but as you see in the pics I've pinned down a couple of leaves just to get a bit of light inside. That's about it. Any comments/thoughts are welcome. Other than that... Same bat time, same bat channel next week!

Hi all, Coming to the end of week three and there's been a few things happening. She's almost doubled in hight but is still very bushy with not a lot of space between nodes. Quite early on I decided I didn't like the hoops I'd put in for training so I took them out again, gave it a couple of days and did some light defoliation instead. She seems to have taken it well. On advice I was misting with an Epsom Salts solution. At day 19 I had a slight panic when I noticed white stuff on the leaves! Turned out to be too much salt..what a nob 🤨 Midweek I found my runoff reading at a pH of around 8. I gave her a heavy water with just a little CalMag then held off. She wasn't showing any obvious pH issues so today I gave her a feed with 1ml of grow and .25 of CalMag. It's hard to see in the pics but some of the new growth is showing a burning effect on the tips of the leaves. It could be light burn but that seems unlikely. My Lux was reading at 35k but I raised the light a bit just in case so now it's reading 32k. More likely its a nutrition problem because like I've said this is my first auto and I don't know what they need. Thinking I'm going to miss the next two feed days and just give her some heavy watering. In theory the next week should be taking her into flower. I'll be deciding if I want to do some LST or stick to defoliation and tucking. That's about it... Same bat time, same bat channel next week!

Hi all, Heading to the end of week four and the end of Veg. At the start of the week she was showing too high pH in the runoff and some minor tip burn. I cut out the feed and gave her a heavy flushing with tested water over a few days. I over did it slightly and had to let her dry right out but then I slowly brought back the food, first at .25ml across the board then today with the numbers you see above. She seems happy atm but I'll be upping the Bloom and Topmax over the coming weeks. pH on the runoff is still reading 7 but tbh if the plants not showing any I'll effects then what does it matter. I did some LST using the hoops pictured and she took to it well. I can see this strain liking early topping. Thoughts for the future. I did a bit more defoliation here and there. You can also see from the photos that the strain seems prone to leaf mutations, not that it's a problem. As we enter the flowering stage I'll be stopping misting on dry days in order to avoid rot. I'll also be experimenting with large silicate packs to lower the ambient humidity. That's about it. I'm not expecting too much of a yield from this girl, she's small and bushy and I'm out of practice but it'll be fun to see how she develops in the flowering period. And with that... Tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel, for the next exciting episode!

Hi all, It's the end of week five, the first week of flower, and things started well but ended poorly. Temps were steady at the beginning of the week and I started her on flowering food regime. .25ml of CalMag and .5ml of bloom, grow and topmax. Starting gently. She seemed happy enough but then we had a mini heatwave. Things hit a max of 32.5 degrees down to a min one night of 16 when I forgot to turn my fans off in the dark. Still she seemed to take it OK so on the next feed rotation I upped her nutrition to .5 of grow an 1ml of bloom and topmax. Things went downhill the next day. Spots on her leaves and signs of deficiencies! (See questions/pics) And I believe we have lockout 🤨 I took measures. I put her in the bath and flushed her with 10l of pH tested water, 1l at a time and testing the runoff each go. In the last liter I added a teaspoon of Epsom Salts and .5ml of CalMag. She's now back in the tent with 2 fans on her to prevent any fungi coming and once she's dried out I'll go back to feeding her. Other than a few ugly leaves she's looking quite bonnie. She's still very squat and I could no doubt take off more foliage and even the low buds, but I'm happy to let her do her thing. So that's all for now Boys and Girls... Tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel for another new (and hopefully more successful) exciting episode!

Hi all, It's the end of the sixth week and she's been having a tough time. On day 37, about 4 days after the mini flush, she was still showing bad signs of feed problems and imo block so I decided to give her a heavy flush. 30l of pHd water in 3l increments with a 10min pause between each wash, pH testing before it went in and after it came out. I had no TDS meter at the time so I couldn't check but our water is extremely pure, 56ppm, so that wasn't a worry. The last liter went in with food to replace what I'd washed out. .5ml CalMag, .5ml of grow and 1ml of bloom and topmax. In between I've been taking off some of the nastier looking leaves. If you look at the pictures you'll see that her pistols have changed colour relatively early. There are no signs of pollination/hermaphroditism so I'm putting this down to the stress of the flush.. I gave her a little spray of biobizz leaf coat, just for the he'll of it. I'm going to be testing TDS from now on. Hopefully this will let me confidently raise the nutrient levels of bloom and topmax and get those buds going. I'm also intending to raise the amount I water each time to 1.5l but lower the frequency. Hopefully she'll buck up a bit in the coming few days but for now... Hi all, End of the seventh week and we're coming into the final straights. She's had a tough time. Compacted soil, major temperature fluctuations, lock out and finally fungus attack! But good on Kannabia, you've made a tough strain and she's ridden it all to come out the other side. She's been so stunted by it all that she's hardly going to yield much at the end but what there is sure should be good. I realised mid-week that what had been misdiagnosed as a cal deficiency was actually Leaf Septoria. I defoliated, taking off and destroying any leaves with the slightest signs of spots. I then sprayed with Neem oil, 1tsp in 1l of warm water with a dash of washing up liquid. All over the plant and the walls of the tent. She's got at least 2 weeks of growth left so any residual tast should be gone by harvest. After a few days I did it again. I don't have any mulch but I've some coco coir coming in a few days and I might put some over the soil. Nothing more I can do about it. So far it seems to have worked so fingers crossed. Given that she's so small, only about 27cm, and has had so many issues taking in nutrition early on, I decided to go balls to the wall in terms of food and light. I lowered the light down to 40cm from the top bud giving her about 55k Lux without any burn and I'm tempted to go lower. I've fed her 3 times this week, much more than normal but she's lapped it up. I raised everything incrementally to the levels above with the pH and TDS of the runoff reading good every time. I'm guessing she's got maybe 2 feeds before flush. That's it. Any comments would be greatly appreciated but otherwise... Tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel, for another exciting episode!

Hi all, It's the end of week eight and almost the end of the grow. Judging by terp colour, and my short patience, I'm thing about a week until the chop. Not a lot happened this week. I've stopped the feed. Partly to flush in readiness for harvest and partly because I over fed last week. You might be able to see a little burn in some pics and my TDS is coming out higher than it went in. Nothing I'm particularly worried about. We're having a little heatwave atm so I'm having temp problems again. The sub temp hit 27 earlier with an ambient reading of 33! Nothing i can do about it but on the plus side the flowers have some nice colours. One of he main problems I've had with this grow has been my choice of growing medium, Westlands peat free with John Innas. I used to use Westlands with good results but this has been a chore. Over the weeks it's compacted massively. I had to aerate it half way through like you would a lawn. It holds Salts like you wouldn't believe and the added nuts from the John Innas has made it very difficult to control the levels. It's to Canna coco for the next run. That's it for now... Tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel, for the FINAL instalment!

Hi all, Well, ch ch ch ch changes. I had every intention of giving her the chop today, the start of week ten, but the best laid plans and all. We had a sudden mini heatwave here, 33 degrees and high humidity, and that put pay to that. Using my micro lens I counted a total of 3 Amber terps. Oh well, we go again. The heat burnt the shit out of the leaves so I trimmed them off to almost nothing. Having decided she'll need another week I fed her today, probably for the last time. Fully ready or not she's getting the chop by next Monday. I grow tired of fucking with her and I have future plans. And that's all folks. Tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel, for the holiday special with directors commentary!

Well, she's down. It's not been the easiest grow. She's suffered from lockout, crazy temps, leaf septoria and general dwarfism but the genetics are strong, she's come through it all and produced a surprisingly large amount for her size. She only ever got to 27cm tall but the buds are solid and sticky. The weight I've given here is wet and still on the branch but if I get anything over half an oz dry I'll be more than happy. Overall Kannabia have made a lovely strain here, the buds smell sweet and spicy and I'm looking forward to tasting her in a few weeks. I chopped her on exactly 10 weeks though tbh she could have gone a little longer. And there you go. I hope you've enjoyed the diary, I've enjoyed doing it. Next up are Royal Dwarf by RQS and Afghan kush auto by Fastbuds.
