Testing performed via freshly cleaned double tree perc bong High: This strain hit me in 2 stages. First is the super strong but shortly-lived heady high, with some brief psychedelic moments. It's crispy clear, like that frame smoothing option on your TV that makes regular 24fps TV shows look like soap operas (turn that stupid setting off by the way), and last night I swear for 15 minutes I knew exactly what I was going to say or do seconds before I did but like I hadn't made that decision to do it yet (donnie-darko-esque, eh?). But that feeling came and went before I could get a video game going to test my reaction speed haha. Plant #1 was the first I tested, and on round 2 I whited out on the couch for the first 45 minutes before snapping out of it and chilling. Just reporting back what happened, I am likely a low tolerance rook and that is why. The other tester, who is a veteran smoker, seems to get more ripped than usual though. I find that I am very talkative at first, as well, both of us were actually. It does settle into Stage 2, which is less of a heady high and more your standard chill, but not couch locked, high. I fell asleep easy on this, but didn't feel tired until I would have normally went to bed. Flavor: I have tested all 3 plants and so far there is no difference in high between them, but #1 has very subtle flavors, with a sweet after taste. #2 and #3 have this bright sweet flavor. I get a sweet flavor during the smoke and some fuel afterwards, but super subtle. They all smell like crazy pungent sweet overripe pineapple fruit, it is reported by the other tester that #2 & #3 both have good flavor, not as pronounced as the smell would indicate though. My only problem with the final product is the lack of flavor for me. Again, it doesn't taste bad. It just doesn't stand out next to the mid-grade commercial bag of stuff I got to keep me stocked until this harvest. It is probably my fault, as there were a few big mistakes made during the grow. As for the score, well this is my first grow so it is the best so far. Update: #2 is pure sugar, tastes like some kind of sweet that reminds me of Christmas time. The taste lingers for a good few minutes. The curing definitely improved the flavor. #3 is spice and fuel to me, but I have been told it is spice and berries or sugary to others. #3 hits harder, and the trichome heads fall off like snow from the he buds, nowhere near as sticky as #2 is. Would have been a good candidate for washing methinks. I have pressed some popcorn and gotten good feedback, but I have yet to do a full press run as I am dialing settings. I will update with one final week with optimal press settings and some pics.

Follow the BoS method, it works. First time grower that nearly killed these plants through underwatering and faults of my own and they still came out great.
Haven't tried without it, but I will continue to use it. No issues or benefits that I noticed but I started using right away so I have no comparison without.

Reviews. Tent
This tent was chosen specifically because my basement ceiling is too short for most full sized 4x4 tents. With the 2' extension I was just able to fit this entire thing with less than a cm to spare. The material is sturdy, and no light leaks were observed from inside the tent upon first inspection. Light can be seen coming out from the tent when the LEDs are blaring, but like I said it's pitch black on the inside. For this grow, the exhaust was left in the tent to quell the noise. It did a great job of reducing the ventilation noise from the exhaust and the fans. I will likely leave it out next grow to compare and give myself more space. I put it together myself, but I'll be honest and say that I was confused on the orientation (top vs bottom) for the wall pieces at first. I ended up installing both ways to figure it out. And maybe I did it wrong, but the 2' extension would be nice to have on the same side as the door, so I don't have to crouch to look around. I may have installed that wrong as well though, I swore I tried to set it up that way though. For my purposes (slightly less than 80" basement ceiling clearance), I will likely go with Gorilla Grow Tents brand if I ever need a full height tent again while I live in the same place.

Intro: Well they were harvested, woo! 14 Day dry at 67.5F/55% Rh. Stems snap/crack but dont completely break apart. I plan to burp and monitor the smell of the jars at least twice a day for the first week and then reduce as the weeks on on. I may need to separate some of the jars up even. I didn't get a fresh wet weight, and I didn't weight the whole plants since they were dried as a whole plant. I cut the trunks and flipped them upside, cleaned up any extra foliage and hung them back in the tent. I checked daily, making sure nothing was going wrong. Day 14 the big branches were snapping like they should so I set up the station and started trimming. Final harvest weight incoming, but I think I am alright with this yield, for all that happened with these plants.

Heat stress plus some kind of lockout due to topsoil drying out. PPFD set to 900 for 2 wks, + dried topsoil. Lowered light intensity, flushed with water. Color has mostly returned. Sugar leaves affected. Is this fine, recoverable, dangerous to smoke?

Trim away the dead sugar leaves and pluck out the fan leaves it will be fine, won't be dangerous unless you sprayed something on it. Flushing is not really needed unless you overfed the medium or your trying to correct a issue in it like a ph swing, 2week end of life just water on a soil grow with amendments is good, gives it a chnage to use up whats in the soil. if you where doing this with lots of runoff it would be a lot and not needed. Good Luck!

Dry Tent Temp: 67.3 F avg., What to do for cooling? My Rh is at 60%, if I can't reliably lower my temps should I adjust the humidity to compensate? If so, to what?

67.3 f is not bad for drying if anything its almost perfect. I dry anywhere from 18-25c or 64-77f, my ideal would be 15c but I never get that unless I open the doors in the winter so 18c is my new go to. I try and keep RH around 60% with some small airflow happening. If no airflow then aim for RH to be 55%, no mater the temp RH should not be below 40 or above 60. someplace in between. To low = drys to fast, to high = potential for bud rot. The RH of the air its pulling into the tent / dry room should be lower then the RH of the tents ambient air. I set my tent up to dry the weed with pools of water on the bottom and program the smart exhaust to turn on low when RH hits 60%+ then by the time it auto shuts off the RH is back down to 40-50 and it does this for about a week or two. I only rely on my central AC and however cold the apartment is, I don't cool the dry room specifically and my shit turn out nice and dank. Good Luck!

Early test, bong: Day 13 of long hang-dry. Not much taste. Maybe some hay in the background, a slight sweet or fruity aftertaste, but is doesn't stay. I got ripped tho. It doesn't taste bad, just not good. Will the final days of dry and the cure bring the flavor through?

So yes it could recoup some flavor in cure a few weeks or month plus in.. at this point, celebrate that the high is what you are looking for. It’s rare to find something that combines high, flavor, and smell. I’m not a bong smoker but make sure everything is cleaned out too when you are judging smoke like this. Also the bud in pic looks a little leafy I wonder if that’s the case you’re getting a bit more leaf than bud?

Bud Rot? I assume so. What needs to get tossed? Entire jar/container/paper bag, or Only affected Buds? This batch, from a single plant, has smelled off. I pulled them from jars and tossed them in a paper bag overnight. Smells better but I saw the rot when looking at buds again.

the infection would stop once the moisture content fell low enough, but ... if you see spots, through it out. long-term storage with it wouldn't be wise of course. and anythignin teh same container likely have sports even if dormant / not growing once it's fully dried. or so slow it's immeasurable except after 6months type thing. sometimes you do what you gotta do. i'd suggest erring on safe side as others said. pick through it.. see what you see.. any hint of odd flavor from clean buds, then toss it out. smell test can help. It's hard to see anything specific in these pics.. some discoloration? the smell is obviously more important here. your bud from the diary doesn't look extremely green. some buds come dark or brownish naturally too. maybe not brown but less bright green, lol. and that green fades more over time too.

I know I'm late but I was looking through your diaries and this is one hell of a result for a first grow. I envy your green thumb. That's quite a yield you had for your first grow! I'm planning on going the build a soil route eventually but still have a lot of nutes left over from my first grow.

@MrLahey, Yeah I made plenty of mistakes still. Biggest one was leaving too much lower growth. I had so much popcorn that I ended up just pressing for rosin. I love these earthboxes. They bang hard. But I feel like I always slow them at the end of flower because hey have filled out the boxes by then. My 4x4 grassroots livings soil bed just shipped. So I am going to be throwing over 100 gallons of soil into that and chuck it in my 4x4. Going to run 4 initially and see how it goes. It'll be different than the SIP system that the earthboxes use but it's twice now that I have maxed out these EB's and I think I just need more soil since I tend to veg long. Plus not having to top dress so often, and eventually setting up automatic watering will help me save time, since I spend way too much time doing the simple stuff. Long rant, but thought Id share my thoughts after running the buildasoil method since you mentioned it. I am going all in on it, it definitely works for me. And if I don't like the bed I can toss it outside for veggies and go back to the EBs. Happy growing, bud!

@FacelessGardens, Thanks, I was worried I shorted the yield with the dry down/heat stress they saw towards the end. Plenty happy for my first grow though, thanks for the words of encouragement growmie!

Definitely noticed some mold from plant #1's buds. The entire batch smelled off, and I made the stupid mistake of tossing all together and not trying to do any of the inspections in an enclosed separate area. So I threw all of #1 away. I still have the popcorn and shake bags but haven't decided what to do with them. Oh well, shit happens and I still have 2/3rds of my grow which is looking great.
