~ GERMiNATION ~
I had a bit of dilemma about what to grow this summer as i have accumulated quite a collection of seeds this year from the best sources.
In the end, my choice fell on three varieties that i haven't tried yet :
· Auto AK Triple Haze - by Super Sativa Seed Club
· Blue Auto Mazar - by Dutch Passion
· Titan F1 - by Royal Queen Seeds
Two seeds of each variety - a total of six. (I will also make a separate diary for each of them.)
The seeds were sown directly into the substrate (coir rings) and moistened daily with a small amount of water (about 10ml each).
They all sprouted on day five!
The next day they were planted into the target 20-liter breathable pots.
The substrate was half & half mixture of two BioBizz products: Light-Mix & Coco-Mix.
I usually used HESI nutrients for growing cannabis - with very good results. However, this summer i wanted to try something new for a change (and knowledge).
For this purpose, i prepared the substrate in advance by adding ground seaweed (about 100 grams per pot) and Biotabs - organic slow-release fertiliser tablets (3 per pot).
And that's it - the water itself will do the rest (hope so).
I also have plenty of natural compost, nettle manure and a good-old HESI kit on hand - in case something goes wrong.
The seedlings are lit 20/4 with MIGRO LED-lamps set to 20% power for now.
~ 1st week ~
Both TRiPs sprouted the earliest of the entire current crop - Summer Gems 2023. They are also the highest - 9 cm at moment.
The TiTANs sprouted second in order - right after TRiPs. They are currently the shortest of the entire crop - 6 cm at the moment, but have the largest leaves.
BAMs sprouted last, but they grow quickly and are almost as tall as TRiPs. They are now 8 cm tall.
In that first week the plants were watered twice (0.5 l of water each) and they developed their first true leaves.
At present, the humidity in the room is over 70% and the temperature - around 22°C.
The large Blaupunkt fan oscillates a strong breeze and the lamps run 20/4 with a low power of 20%.
Plants are doing fine.
~ 2nd week ~
This week all plants have fully developed their second layer of leaves and are starting the third.
TRiPs are the tallest - 11 cm - they also sprouted first.
Then by height there are BAMs - 10 cm - sprouted last.
And finally TiTANs - 8 cm high - despite being the shortest (for now) in this set, they seem to have the strongest stature.
All plants have a nice fresh green color.
As in the previous, this week the plants were watered twice (half a liter each).
At the end of the week i increased the power of lamps to 40 %.
So far, everything is going smoothly and stress-free. Keep it up!
~ 3rd week ~
A lot has happened in the grow room this week:
All plants developed three more layers of leaves, so they now have five in total, with a sixth on the way.
Also, the side branches have started to form.
TRiPs are the tallest of entire set - they are now 24 and 22 cm tall. They also have the longest side branches - as much as 7 cm.
TiTANs are now 16 and 14 cm tall, and the side branches are 3 cm long.
BAMs are 16 and 15 cm tall currently, and the side branches are 2 cm long.
Same as in the previous, this week the plants were watered twice (half a liter each).
And at the end of the week i increased the power of lamps to 60 %.
Plants are healthy, growing well and looking beautiful.
~ 4th week ~
TRiPs are still the tallest in this crop - one at 45 and the other 37 cm.
Both now have 8 nodes - one every 8 and the other every 6 cm. The lowest side branches are 25 cm long.
TRiP-1 is the tallest of all - over twice the height of the shortest plant currently (BAM-2 - 20cm).
In terms of visuals, i like the TiTANs the most from the whole set (so far) - they have a beautiful shape and perfect proportions.
And they also grow nicely - one is 23 and the other 27 cm high. Both now have 8 nodes - every 3 cm.
The lowest side branches are 15 cm long.
The BAMs are the shortest in the current set so far - 23 and 20 cm high.
They have the largest and darkest leaves (classic Indica style).
Both now have 8 nodes - every 2 cm, and the lowest side branches are 10 cm long.
By the end of the week, the first signs of flowering appeared - hairs on the tops and on the nodes.
I increased the watering frequency to 3 times a week and the power of the lamps to 80%.
Plants are healthy, full and happy.
~ 5th week ~
Plants enter pre-flowering phase quite rapidly - as befits automatics.
Individual hairs turn into tufts, and these, in turn, into buds.
TRiPs are growing at a fast pace - they have grown 20 cm in height this week.
TRiP-1 is 63 cm, and TRiP-2 is 52 cm tall.
TiTANs have grown 15 cm in height this week - they have the most flowers and the most dense.
TiTAN-1 is 36 cm, and TiTAN-2 is 41 cm tall.
BAMs are growing nicely - they have grown over 10 cm in height this week. However, they are a bit delayed and slow compared to the rest of the plants in terms of flowering by about a week - the hair is already there, but the buds are not forming yet.
BAM-1 is 35 cm, and BAM-2 is 30 cm tall.
Plants are doing well and seem happy.
I increased the power of the lamps to 100 %.
~ 6th week ~
Most plants have slowed down their growth rate significantly (twice - compared to the previous week):
TRiP-1 gained 3 cm and is now 66 cm high.
TRiP-2 gained 6 cm and is now 60 cm high.
TiTAN-1 gained 3 cm and is now 38 cm high.
TiTAN-2 gained 4 cm and is now 45 cm high.
Unlike the rest of the crop, BAMs have significantly accelerated their growth rate this week, already outperforming TiTANs.
BAM-1 gained 12 cm and is now 47 cm high.
BAM-2 gained 11 cm and is now 41 cm high.
They have already started to bloom in full.
In the middle of the week, all plants were moved to a new temporary place - a 2x1x2 m tent. So far, they lived in a specially adapted bathroom, but since i am currently renovating the entire house, they had to move somewhere else. Once i deal with the house, i will move on to the garage, where their final place will be. Hope to make it before winter.
The plants seem to like the new room - they all bloom profusely.
I also used there Neoseiulus Californicus prophylactically - an effective pest-fighter. I hung the preparations on two plants. One little bag would be enough for the entire crop such as this, but two also don't hurt.
The plants are nice and healthy. The lamps shine at max.
~ 7th week ~
TRiP-1 has stopped growing taller - she is still 66 cm as of last week.
TRiP-2 gained 2 cm, so now she's 62 cm high.
They are both ripening beautifully - they have large and lush flowers, and their hair is starting to turn red.
Both TiTANs have stopped growing taller - they haven't gained any height since the last measurement last week.
TiTAN-1 is 36, and TiTAN-2 - 45 cm tall.
But similar as TRiPs, they are both ripening beautifully.
Although short and stocky, they have big lush flowers, and their hair is also starting to turn red.
Unlike the rest of the crop, BAMs are still growing taller (and wider):
BAM-1 gained 9 cm this week and now she's 56 cm tall.
BAM-2 gained 8 cm, so she's now 49 cm tall.
Currently, they have a lot of small buds, which are quickly getting bigger and denser, and there are more of them before your eyes.
I rearranged the plants a bit - according to their height, so that the lamps would illuminate them better and they would be better visible in the photos - as the picture shows.
The plants feel great.
~ 8th week ~
Nothing much happened this week.
TRiPs and TiTANs mature nicely - the leaves darken (but do not turn yellow yet), the flowers enlarge and shine with resin, more and more hair is turning red.
BAMs continue to grow taller and wider - both are over half a meter high.
Their long-haired buds multiply and enlarge with each passing day.
Small drops of resin begin to be visible to the naked eye.
Plants look healthy and happy. Keep it up.
~ 9th week ~
Both TRiPs stopped rising upwards last week already.
However, now they seem to be much higher (70cm - TRiP1 and 63cm - TRiP2).
That's because their main colas reach the monstrous size of a large beer can!
The side branches bend to the ground under the weight of the buds so much that the entire plants are also leaning.
They soon will need to be supported somehow - just in case.
TiTANs - although short (both less than half a meter high) - have huge flowers shiny with resin.
The flowers have taken on a slightly rose color - which is visible in bright light.
The leaves have darkened noticeably (but still not yellow) - they are an intensely dark green, which contrasts beautifully with the rainbow white of the flowers. Pleasant to the eye.
BAMs have slowed their growth rate, but still growing - currently BAM-1 is 60 cm and BAM-2 is 55 cm high.
The number of flowers continues to grow and they grow rapidly, forming an unbroken chain along each stem.
The flower hairs aren't turning red yet and there isn't much resin yet - it's just starting to appear.
Seeing them calms down and fills with optimism.
All plants look wonderful - healthy and happy.
A bountiful harvest is coming :)
~ 10th week ~
All plants are maturing nicely.
The flowers are huge and full of resin, the fan leaves are starting to turn yellow, and about half of their hair had already turned red.
However, new flowers continue to form.
Plants are healthy and look impressive.
I stopped fertilizing at the end of the week - now it's just water.
~ 11th week ~

The flowers are huge - much larger than a beer can, and buds full of resin.
The large leaves turned yellow and at the end of the week fell off or were removed.
I had to support the plants with bamboo poles, as they could break under their own weight - still, the side branches touch the ground with their tips.
Harvest is coming :)

Large flowers that are very hard to the touch, with buds shiny with resin.
The fan leaves turned yellow and at the end of the week fell off or were removed.
The rest of the leaves became multi-colored - with yellow and red predominating.
This creates a beautiful autumn atmosphere.

Long-haired buds of medium size, but placed next to each other along the entire length of the branches.
There are plenty of them, and half of hair have already turned red.
Some leaves are starting to turn yellow, although most are still green - a contrast to the rest of the crop.
The plants look like a classic Christmas trees.
~ 12th week - HARVEST ~
This (last) week the plants were not watered on purpose - so that they had as little moisture as possible during harvest.

Most leaves turned yellow with burgundy veins - TRiP-1 in particular.
Both plants have huge buds full of sticky resin.
Big plants - the largest yield of the entire crop.
Cut on the full moon and hung whole on strings in the dark, cool, well ventilated drying room.

~ 12th week - HARVEST ~
This (last) week the plants were not watered on purpose - so that they had as little moisture as possible during harvest.

The leaves became multi-colored, with yellow and deep purple predominating.
All of them (leaves) clung to the stems very tightly, so it was difficult for me to remove the largest ones before harvest.
Massive buds covered with thick resin - hard as a rock. They smell like lemon with a hint of mango - very intense.
Small bushes but lots of good material.
Cut on the full moon and hung whole on strings in the dark, cool, well ventilated drying room.
When they dry, i'll write about my all impressions.
~ 12th week - HARVEST ~
This (last) week the plants were not watered on purpose - so that they had as little moisture as possible during harvest.

Larger leaves turned yellow and were removed by the end of the week.
Lots of medium-sized buds placed densely along the entire stems. Plenty of resin!
Very lush bushes - they emit an intense floral-musky scent.

But in all grow diary I don't see you use any fert other then mix of soils, seaweed and 3 tablets. It's confusing.
