Seems to have bounced back from being transplanted. Need to lower pH. She is drinking a lot but only growing a little, but her leaves are healthy so I'm going to assume she's just growing more roots in the bigger pot. I have to keep reminding myself that this strain is a slow grower. Being next to autos makes it look so wimpy.
She's growing! Not much to report. She's a slow grower but she's putting down roots. It is a big pot to fill and I've been letting them dry out with some bottom-feeding to encourage her. I think my media is too dense. It's basically pure soil with only 10-20% perlite. Considering options.
She's really starting to take off now! Did a slight bend to get the main stalk towards the rim of the pot. Since she's a sativa, I want to be pretty aggressive with tying her down and keeping her size managed. I've bought a grow tent and autopot system with 6 pots, so I'll be planning a move and glow-up for all my plants soon.
Life has changed a lot for this girl! I setup my new grow tent and autopots system, but I still had an old grow light and my grow room still works fine, so I decided, since sativas take so long to grow anyway, that I'll let this lady have her own room and light, and in exchange I will be taking lots of clones for her. I'm going to keep her heavily LSTed and trimmed for several months. I do plan to let her keep a lot of branches so her eventual flowering will have a good yield, but I took several clones from her while trimming and training, and the best clone will go into an autopot. Updates on this plant will be more spaced out, but I will start a new diary for the first clone to get planted.
Big Mama Lemon is really thriving as a mother plant. Every time I train or trim her, she looks even more lush a few days later. Now if only I could get some of these clones to root. It's definitely user error, I'm being impatient and taking cuttings that are too small. I need to chill out and let her veg for at least another week before I take any more. The six cuttings I put in rockwool are all dead. I'm not going to use rockwool again. Now I have 3 small cuttings in root riot cubes.
Big Mama Lemon is doing well! I closed up the tent before I took these pics, I meant to grab my ruler for the pic. She is quite bushy. The next day I don't need to go into the office, I will be aggressively super cropping her. Once they recover from super cropping, I think it will be a good time to get some nice clones off her.
Checking in on her, she's doing great. Her pot feels super light, but I'm waiting until I see her droop a bit before I water her again. I'll give her a day after watering to drink and then I'll heavily defoliate her. I might repot her into a smaller pot to keep her small... but there's also the temptation to take another round of clones in a week or two and then flower her soon... I want to keep the strain around but I'm so impatient!
She's getting really big. I keep taking clones but not fast enough to keep her small. I think I might give her a few more weeks and then switch her to flower. She's got an established clone in an autopot, so I can always grab more clones off that one to keep the strain in my garden.
She is really such a solid plant. I train and defoliate aggressively and have taken a couple dozen clones off her, and she bounces back the next day. I'm definitely switching her to flower in a couple weeks, I already gave clones to the friends that wanted some, and I have to leave room for her to flower.
Flipped to 12-12 on October 25. Looking into getting more appropriate nutes for this stage of her life. Also included are pics of some of the many clones I have taken from her. I also hooked my plug up with one of the sturdier clones.
First full week of flower. She's growing for sure. Gave her some training but tried to limit defoliation. I'll give her another big haircut in a week or so. Including pics of clones. They will get flipped to flower with the autopots tent, so most of them won't get to have a nice full grow.
Last major defoliation complete. Ordered Bud Explosion to go with the Mega Crop and will start feeding her on Monday when the nutes arrive. Will hit her with a little kelp too, but I admit I'm not really sure what the kelp is for, it came free with the Mega Crop.
