Frosted Cherry O's

mangojones They are sprouting. Not much to report yet. They are autoflowers so I hope they are putting down good roots. Planted in fabric pots a bit smaller than the others.

mangojones Starting to pick up, thankfully. Let this be a testament to not using expired nutes and old soil. Plant 6 was planted in fresh Fox Farms Ocean forest, while plant 5 is in FFOF from 3 years ago. Gave the stems one bend at the base to get some light training started. Stems are still rather thin so I can't risk overdoing it.

mangojones OK hear me out. I know you're not supposed to transplant autoflowers. But I put them in fabric pots for a reason. I prepped the autopots with buffered hydroton pebbles, a half-dose of Grow Dots mixed into my media,. I made a hole for these plants, generously sprinkled Great White myco into the hole, then put the fabric put into the autopot and carefully cut away the fabric pot. Both plants are putting out new growth just two days later, so I think it was a success. I put binder clips around the lip of the autopots and used them to do some LST. Plant 6 is really showing off the better soil it was planted in, though two doses of recharge has helped #5 catch up a bit. I plan to turn the autopots on in two weeks, September 27.

mangojones Today was the day I finally turned on the autopots! I wanted to respect the two weeks of hand-watering to make sure the roots were good, but as these gals start to really flower, it's time to let them really drink their fill. I have individual taps for each of the three autopot trays, so these two are the only ones on right now. Being fed tap water left to sit out for 24 hours and pHed to 5.8. I hit the smaller plant with Mega Crop to give her a bit more juice to catch up. I hope they start to really fatten up, the smaller plant really is a testament to bad soil and expired nutes.

mangojones They are chugging along. The smaller one is starting to catch up a bit now that I hit her with some extra nutrients and redid her LST. The big one isn't stretching much anymore, but the buds are just starting to stack. Considering a bloom booster but might just keep up with the supplemental Mega Crop.

mangojones Still in early flower. The stunted one is having some stretch, the other seems to be done stretching. The little clone in the cup is from one of these plants - a node I accidentally broke while training a while back. It's got roots, I'll be happy if it becomes one decent cola. The autopots are on, but they aren't drinking very heavily.

mangojones Well they definitely suffered from subpar conditions and care at the start, but the buds are fattening up and getting frosty. The bigger plant should at least be done when I expected - in a week or two. The trichomes are mostly clear with just a very few cloudy ones, but the buds are looking and smelling close to ready.

mangojones Plant 6 is getting close to chop, 5 will be a while. They are quite small and stunted, but I did everything wrong with them, so I'll be grateful for whatever I get. I regret transplanting it right before flower and giving it Grow Dots, because it meant they only ever got veg nutes and got stunted at the worst part of its life cycle.

mangojones I got a handheld wireless microscope! Plant 6 was harvested at the end of the week, once I saw amber trichs. I accidentally didn't take any normal pics, and these are all pics from plant 6, since it was so close to harvest.

mangojones Plant 5 still has a a lot of maturing to go. She's small but her buds are fattening up better than the other one was. Smelling good, too.

mangojones Getting close but not quite there yet. Smell is getting stronger, but nothing the carbon filter can't handle. I can smell her from outside the tent, but not too far away.

mangojones Very nice to vape or smoke in a joint. I treated these plants so badly that I'm honestly very pleased with how good the smoke is. Nice to know that even though I stunted her growth, getting everything dialed in at the start of flower at least allowed her to make nice bud with the mass she had.
