Setup:
-Soil: reclaimed from previous grow cycle. Build-a-Soil Craft Blend was added to soil reclaim, some of the soil was getting hydrophobic so i had to rehydrate. The Golden Barrel blackstrap molasses and Build-a-Soil Build -a-Bloom was added to the water used for rehydrating soil.
-Pot Size: 3.5 gal pot but only has 3 gal of soil, will be adding more soil later if needed.
8/8/23 started germination in a shot glass, should only take a day or two for the tap root to pop out.
8/10/23 tap root has started popping out yesterday night but it doesnt look like it has made any progress from then to now. Looks like it has some really fine whitish strands forming around where the tap root is coming out, doesnt look like anything that normally happens during germination. The seed was put in soil today even though I done think that it is going to survive. Will check on it daily, if it doesnt sprout out of the soil by the end of the week then I will take it as a loss.
8/14/23 still has not sprouted, tried to carefully recover seed but couldn't find it. Taking this one as another loss, may try to germinate the last seed. That makes 4 out of 5 that didn't sprout, maybe the last one will be different.
"whitish strands forming around where the tap root is coming out" like soil fungus? high humidity, lack of oxygen they are usually the cause.. and if soil is recycled could be something around it.. Hope you get fix!!
@Seedsman, well thats 4 out of the free 5 pack I won from the bubba cheesecake competition that didnt sprout. I got one left and hopefully it sprouts cus then I can make more to cover the loss.
@Seedsman, they were forming in the shot glass of water used to germinate the seed. Still not sure if it's going to sprout, but the critical + 2.0 auto has sprouted.
