This is really a resilient plant! Because of the lack of AC the temps have been in the upper 80's and lower 90's. Up till last week I was using the low watt purple light to reduce heat. Now I'm using the XS1000 and things are starting to pop. Sorry about the missing up dates. Today I changed the nutes. In a couple days if all goes well, I might try some super cropping on some of the secondary tops.
GDP-A is a very hardy strain. I didn't think it would survive the mid 90F temps we've had. But she did! I was very lax in training this girl. I didn't want to stress her no more than necessary. She got a little spindly because I had to keep the light so far away because of the heat. But all in all she's doing well now. :)
The Grandaddy is drinking the fluids so quickly that I wish I would have used a bigger container. There are some red steams on the leaves. I'm not sure if that's normal for a purple strain or a nutrient deficiency. I might start changing the nutrients a little more often. All and all, she's doing pretty good.
Once she was flowering heavily she began to drink the nutrients very quickly. I didn't notice at first and she developed a deficiency. I corrected this and started changing the solution a little more often. As you can see, there has been very little training. Packing on the nugs...
The GDP Auto is doing great all things considered.. She survived the 95 to 98 degree daytime temps. She survived me letting the reservoir run dry. Yikes! She still shows a little damage from that one. All and all? Right on track!
The nugs are getting so heavy they're leaning over. I've had to tie several of them up! The nights are getting cooler, I hope this brings some color to the GDP. :) Didn't describe my germination method. I use rapid rooter's placed in a 6 cell germination tray placed on a heat mat. Pretty much 99% germination rate this way.
Things are going well. Looking forward to harvest soon. A lot of the pistols have turned orange and are starting to curl in. Harvest in the next week or two, I'm thinking. She's right on schedule.
Sorry about the delay! I've been really busy, but I did manage to take some pictures. Week 11 I noticed there was no new growth appearing, so I started flush with just water. I didn't get any pictures from the 12th week though. :(
I tried something different this time. I weighed out an ounce and put it in eight small mylar bags with a humidity pack in each one. Man... After just two weeks it's almost perfect. There's just a tiny green harshness to the hit. Another week of curing should take care of that. Weedseedsexpress Grandaddy Purple is an easy, high yield auto. I would recommend it for new and experienced growers. Strong hardy strain.
