I have a small tent 50x50x140 cm. After the seed began to germinate (after 2 days of germination on a paper towel), I didn't wait any longer and immediately planted it in the final container. I placed it in a properly moistened soil mix. It received a glass dome for the first 3 days, during which I only misted it with water spray. Then I removed the dome. Since then, it's been receiving 200 ml of rainwater daily, mixed with a very small amount of nutrients. I'm not sure about the ph as I have a low-quality ph meter from Amazon 😂, but I tried to keep everything around 6.5 ph. I would appreciate advice, as I'm not certain about the nutrients. This is my very first plant.

We are approaching the end of the week, and she looks healthy imo. She have some deformed leaves, but it's okay. I realized the soil is constantly wet even if I skip watering for a day or two. Probably the soil mix wasn't the best, or the ventilation of the pot is insufficient. Whatsoever I drilled some holes on the pot, so it hopefully helps. Next time need more loose soil and fabric pot. I fed her 2x this week, the rest of the week I gave her pure rainwater with some ph down. (Yes, it's weird but the rainwater was 7.1) End of week 2, I'm happy with the process so far. She looks healthy, even though the soil is still wet all the time. I don't know if she drinks less water, or the soil mix isn't good enough, or maybe the pot. Anyway, we will see, maybe if she grows bigger, she will drink more.

I'm not sure if I should use my led light on full power? I know in the vegetative phase she needs 300-700 PPFD and I have a PPFD meter (app). On full power, I place the light around 45-50 cm from her to get around 500 PPFD but I don't trust the app , so what do you think guys?

The app is consistent in measuring light on the same device but it is not a true quantum sensor that can give an accurate readout of PPFD, If the app is calibrated using a sensor then it is golden and is almost as good, but in order to calibrate it you need a sensor. So what you can do is use the app to find the "right number", just know that number is wrong but it will always be the same amount of wrong. so as an example, if at 15" away and its reading 2000PPFD and your plants are doing well under it. make that your number to aim for. 2000PPFD would burn them if it was accurate but its not so it works, numbers are not the same on other devices has always be the same device best to use white paper to diffuse light into the camera lens if going this route. Also look at your lighting specs, most good lights come with a PPFD map on different hang heights. all Spider farmer and Marz lights have this data. https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71iz91RlXnL._AC_SX679_.jpg I think this is your light from the information I gathered off your diary. I'd aim for a hang height of 18-20" to start off. You could also hang it lower 12-15" and dim it down to 50% your call. Be aware that LED has UV diodes, can be damaging to your eyes and skin wear protection. Good Luck!

In the end of week 3, so good so far. She still drinks less than normal I think (1 dl/day) but the soil is still wet. If anybody has an idea why, please let me know. But she looks okay, so hopefully I don't need to worry about it. She got some banana peels on Day 18, I dried some banana peels and ground it. Fed her 3x this week with BioBizz nutrients. On other days she got pure rainwater (6.4 ph.) or no watering if the soil wasn't dry. I think it is better to receive less water than to be overwatered, so the roots will look for water and grow better, and stronger roots, plus less risk to rotten roots. This is my first growth, so please let me know your opinion. :) On day 19, I did some LST, and I will continue next week.

This week the temp was higher than usual (30-32 Celsius), but she liked it. Growth a lot in this week. I worked on LST every 2 days, and on the last day of the week, I also did some defoliation, but I cut down only 2 leaves. Fed her 3x this week with the nuts above and, on other days watered with rainwater.

Probably she had nitrogen deficiency, so I will raise the nutrients. Avoid this pot next time, because I'm struggling with drainage.

Fed her 3x this week, She's not happy. Due to the pot, the soil is always wet, even if I don't water it for 3 days, so last day of the week, I transplanted her into a fabric pot. The process was easy and painless, so hopefully she will be okay, and she will recover soon. If not, at least it was a good lesson about pots. See you next week.

She has been moved to a larger tent. She's doing really well now, nothing unusual happened this week. She gets about 8 dl of water every three days, and I fed her twice this week.

I watered her three times this week with 1.2 liters of rainwater, and on the last occasion, I did also provide it with nutrients. At the beginning of the week the runoff water indicates that the pH level might be a bit high as 7.1. At the end of the week I've managed to lower the pH of the water, and now it receives water with a pH of 5.8. The runoff was 1800-1900 ppm, and 7 ph, so I will continue to lower the ph, and adjust nutrients too. Overall, she seems to be doing well, and I have no complaints.

This week, I watered my plants twice and fed them once. However, the drainage water still shows a high pH level of 7.1, despite using lower pH water for irrigation. The electrical conductivity (EC) is also high at 1200 ppm. In the last watering, I didn't provide any nutrients, only tap water with a pH of 5.8. There isn't much time left until harvest, and I'm concerned about the current conditions.

Some weeks ago I noticed my runoff water PH is a little bit high, and the nutrients level was also too high, so I decided to water her with 5.5 ph tap water until the PH will be corrected. But after 2 weeks it's worstthen before Now the ph is 7.2

It sounds like it could be the soil you're using, at this point with the plant so close to being I would do what you did last time and water her with 5.5 pH tap water until the PH is corrected.

It's totally normal to have an higher pH and lower EC on the drain side. It is how the plant works.. the high nutrient levels in your substrate is probably a result of constant overdose.. A tip from my side, keep ur focus on a better VPD!

Dunno why ph still increasing. Piss me off it's almost ready. So I watered her 2x this week with PH 5.5 clear tapwater. No feed. At least ppm was corrected.

Good luck bro! I’ll follow your grow, let’s see how green gelato turns out :) Rainwater has a ph value of 5.5 - 5.8. Im using tab water with about 7.3, but the BioBizz fertilizers do lower it for me (at least that’s what I researched). I don’t have a ph meter.

plantslavecommented2 years ago
@Introvertalent, sadly I don’t have access to rainwater, but I let the tab water always sit for 1-2 days or use aqua safe to get rid of the chlorine.
Introvertalent
Introvertalentcommented2 years ago
@plantslave, Thanks bro, I also follow yours. pH is Critical. I recommend buying a pH meter and pH up/down to adjust pH just in case. I prefer rainwater with fewer chemicals, and because tap water contains chlorine :/
