Moved the tiny germinated seeds into Clonex Rootriot cubes, these have been great for chilles, def' worth trying here, drenched the cubes in Clonex ProStart @ 1ml/L and added about 1ml per day, wish I'd taken more pics.... PPFD at 201 & DLI at 14.4 for the week, the cocktail sticks were added as my fans are wayyy to strong, Pic is from the last day of the week (day 10 including germination) with the left one at 7cm, Switching nutrients next week to a diluted version of the ones for the run (Plant Growth Company's) and did the presoak for the coco/perlite mix & LECA base, got everything hitting a PH of 6.4

Switched the plants over to the Plant Growth Company Nutrients and made a guide to remind me what I'm doing (attached), swapped the cocktail sticks over to wire and there's a pic of the Roots in there to show how it's going below the surface, looking good so far! edit, PGC nutrients not on the list I'll follow the chart I made as closely as possible for this Tuesday - Change of plan, the seedlings roots grew much faster than expected, pics of all three included, moved them into the final 15L Autopots (airdome and 1" leca base, 70/30 coco perlite) and kept the Autopot systems off for now. Going to manually water with the same nutrients as the Seedling Week 2 but with PH at 5.95 (EC 0.4), left a few centimetre gap at the top which I'll fill in with some coco/perlite later, plants seemed a bit leggy Thursday - 0.5L was a bit over what the plants needed, on the plus side got the measure the runoff's PH at 6.41, turned on the Airdome's for a little extra oxygen around the roots Big surprise from the two super cheap Philzon 1000W lights, 100W each in reality, they are 50cm from the plants and at 25% strength yet still throwing out 220 ppfd without generating a lot of heat!!

Start of week 3, edited the wee chart I made to make more sense. That's Grow Max in with the feed now, plants look ok but the left one has some obvious high PH effects, tested the run off at 6.8 :(, dropped the nutrient mix down to 5.9 to help out The plants measure at 12cm tall (up from 7cm) but were dropped in a few cm during the repot middle of last week, good horizontal growth though Bumped up the Gro-Max to 5g/10L for the first run, looks like they could handle it... Planning LST at the end of the week and the grow tent smells of something planty :) Tiny update, stunted my middle plant a bit, the temp monitor was resting on it for a few days and left a mark on the main stem, as for the other two they're shooting up in size, left plant (the one with PH damage) from 12cm on Sunday to 28cm Thursday, more pics added, LST tomorrow on the outer two, probably not taking the chance on the little one :(

Lower temperature causes lower pH so that is probably it. Good luck with the rest of your grow

Veg Week 4, first ever try at HST/LST, managed to snap one plant but it's not seemed to notice, seems easy enough to go from one main stem to 4+ :), got Apple Fritter Auto, F1 Orion Auto and Special queen non-auto for next run, tempted to to go for thee SQ's just to learn HST/LST/Mainline, fun! Having to re-tie down every night just to keep the canopy spread out, the plants grow so fast right now and added in some Silicon Max, see if it'll make a difference Added a pic of the furthest ahead top, hoping I can get another week of Veg before swapping nutrients over.. Last day of the week and the plants have went into early flowering stage, losing the planned end weeks of veg' and heading into flower feeds, think I've over trained my first grow but they're bouncing back and the canopy looks ok, time will tell, last pic of veg stage uploaded before defoliation. Of the 27kg weight the Autopot reservoir started at there's 4kg left, thirsty little ones drank just over a Kg or 1 litre a day! Also found out my little 100W lights cant really do the 45 DLI I'd planned for flower phase without being super close to my plants, off seeking upgrades!

Start of flowering, changed the nutrients over and moved the plants a bit closer as my little lights only hit 30DLI, (still looking to replace), defoliated a fair bit, (before and after pic included) and removed some of the training ties, also combined 2 autopot reservoirs into one so there's 60L available, plants were thirsty last week! Was looking through the leaves from defoliating and found evidence of something with the munchies, liberally sprayed with Athena IPM.. the scale on the pic is in 1mm increments 😠 Stress auto's less is what I've learnt, these went into flowering week 4, was hoping for at least 5-7 weeks to recover from training, ah well, onward 😁

More from the flowering stage, added a fair few pics, plants recovering well from the HST/LST and added in a scrog net to help out, they grow so fast that it's hard to keep them level. The plant with the damage early on has fallen behind now, looks perfectly healthy just smaller :( 55KG of feed used last week or 2.6L per plant per day, thirsty little ones Bought the noob CO2 bag with CO2 meter and can confirm it does absolutley nothing, screen shot included, standing in your grow tent and singing any song would generate more co2!!! Also added in a pic of the stem that snapped, healed up nicely and expect that the silica helped with that, not sure about adding it in every week but good for the start and maybe after HST/LST as it really firms up stems. Now Wednesday, left the plants alone to recover from major defoliation and they've shot up, the two plants on the left have hit 80cm tall, also added the last pic of the Plizon 100w lights, happy with how far they got me but upgrade parts have started to arrive, huge leap in power coming.

More from flowering, upgraded my lights from the two Phlizon 100W to 2 x 720W (running at 200w), feels like I've installed a small sun in my house :) Slowly increased the DLI from 30 to just over 50 with a nice uniform 800 ppfd over the canopy, removed the scrog net so I could space out the plants better, the two larger were going to kill the smaller by simply stopping light. Tuesday: My new lights ballasts detach so moved them outside the tent to drop heat down a bit as it's up at 28-29 degrees and redid the nutrients, added the PK 52-34 @ 1g/10L, also there's a few more pics of the plants and if anyone out there uses autopots the last pic is for you, get a paint stirrer attachment for your powerdrill :) The left plant is now 130cm, less than 5cm from my lights and not burning...

Another week into flowering and they're still gaining height, left plant now at 162cm and looks like it's only going to stop when it hits the top of my grow tent, the stat sheet for this strian says 120cm, maybe I should contact RQS and let them know they're more than a little bit out with their heights 😁 Spotted some brown patches on some leaves indicating a tiny bit of calcium defficiency so upped the amounts and yet again the plants have been thirsty, 60kg of feed exactly since redoing them on Tuesday or 4L each per day!! Also bumped up the light schedule, now 20hrs a day and 60DLI @30cm, the tall plant isn't getting harmed being much closer so giving it a try And although I've been mightily impressed by RQS for everything I've won the Fastbuds contest, looks like I'll be growing Tropicana Cookies soon 😍 Day 5, Friday, got the plants out of the tent so I could rearrange the lighting and get 20 cm more height on one side, then dealt with the larger plant, had to stand on a ladder and drop a scrog net down onto it then HST till it went from 200 cm to 140cm, felt awful tbh, pics added, the other two plants seem ok, also dropped the DLI back to 50 on both sides, added my security cam to the tent so hopefully we'll have a timelapse of the plants recovery to watch 🙏. So, my plants on the data sheet are meant to be 120cm tall .....they're over 170 now (see pics), I can likely get another 15-20cm by moving my intake and raising the lights but otherwise what's a good way to handle the height as I can't see them stopping anytime soon, cheers :)

snap a stem without severing it... support it so it doesn't dangle and damage itself worse. within a day or 2 it'll have a knuckle and you'll be holding back vertical growth instead maintaining it horizontally while it heals. It will try to bend upward around that break again.. hold it down, let the tip go vertical if timing is good and won't run out of space again. rather not break it twice if you can avoid it. this is called HST - can google for examples. it's simpler than it sounds. i just grab and push forward with my thumb until the stem doubles over -- only enough force for that to occur then stop. support it so it is horizontal and heals easily. it heals fast. shortly after it'll try to arch upward. hold it down at a point you feel safe the upward growth won't run out of room a 2nd time.

More from flowering stage, the high stress training on the large plant has been done and the canopy is starting to climb again, hopefully it'll be ok, didnt have a choice though, was really concerned about the plants catching fire under the new lights, did however learn how to timelapse 😉, other than that the plants have kept at a steady 4L of feed per day and the buds on the right plant are starting to bunch up, the first orange hairs appeared on Thursday, might drop the PK 52-34 for shooting powder earlier than planned to help out. Thursday - Added some pics of the right plant to show progress, the buds have grown well on it this week, still wondering about moving over to shooting powder early...

More from flowering, the plants drank a fair bit less, down to 3L a day and have nearly stopped gaining height, the plant on the right is miles ahead now with the former tallest one recovering from HST, again no choice, had to avoid a fire. Stuck with the PK 52-34 and upped the dose a bit for another week hoping they all equal out before shooting powder, cant see the plant on the right needing a lot longer, easy to see the bud difference between the plants :( Day 2 - Got the 10$ Digital Microscope out for some harvest checking and posted some 10$ microscope pics, one or two orange trichomes per leaf on the right plants centre buds but thats about all, wont take 3 more weeks till harvest so need to adjust the plan again.. Day 5 - Having trouble with brown patches, though upping the CalMag would stop it but it's still increasing 😭 Day 6 - after advice from https://growdiaries.com/grower/minipops77 & a discord chat with https://growdiaries.com/grower/cannaigrow I'm flushing the plants with Advanced Nutrients Flawless Finish and moving on from there, pretty much all advice pointed to the nutrients being out badly, moving onto the shooting powder and lowering the CalMag as it's likely I'm locking out something, many thanks for all the guidance, really appreciated, we should be able to select more than one bit of help!!! The two shortest I've got seeds for are RQS Apple Fritter and RQS F1 Orion...I'm going with those next after this 😂

Having problems with brown patches, (see last 3 pics week 10), a quick google and I went with adding more CalMag but it's got worse the further into flowering I go, the farthest behind plant has least, furthest ahead is worst, any ideas?, many thanks in advance :)

Last weeks emergency flush complete and into shooting powder for the final stretch (many many thanks again to all who helped, not just the one selected), having been grown exactly the same the plants are all wildy different in looks and progress, really surprised at that!, other wise here's hoping the new nutrient schedule solves the brown patches, DLI at 52, not even running my lights at half power, buying 1440W of lighting seems a bit of a bad choice now, ah well hindsights wonderful 😂, g'luck ye all and cheers for looking 👊👍👌 Tuesday - Still cant tell if the changes help stop the brown patches so put up some bud pics instead :)

Amazing, couldnt believe how much crap they tolerated from this first time grower, going well beyond anything I'd expected, I've had fungus gnats and thrips on other plants in my house during this grow and they didnt touch the Gelato at all, superb strain 10/10

Good and bad news, good is I got a new job, bad is it's across the other side of the country, had to harvest early, no choice at all, took the plants down and will dry at 60/60 for a week then into Grove bags for the move, utterly devastated I couldnt get them to the end properly, still they seem ok, really sticky all over, RQS deserve a medal for this strain (they may even have one :), thanks again for all your support folks and happy growing 😍 10/11/23 - Thats them dried down to 12%, 400g into Mason Jars and rest into grove bags, after trimming leaves the current weight before curing from 3 plants is .....979g, well happy
