I seem to have finally reached that point with this run where there isn't much else to do other than water when dry before harvest. We are too close to harvest to top-dress either plant and I've fed them their last dose of cal/mag and molasses. Jane is at day 69 and almost looks like she could be harvested soon. Depending on how long Joan takes to finish, harvest will almost certainly happen roughly three weeks from now. As you can see from the photo, I've checked trichomes on Jane once already. Little to no amber with a split of clear and cloudy at this time. Joan is at day 76 and is swelling/stacking nicely. If she swells similar to Jane, yield should be excellent. Joan will also be receiving additional defoliation so light penetration can be a bit better.
Performed a hefty feeding last night. Humidity in the tent has been higher than usual and seems to have a tendency to climb. Hoping itโs just been the rainy weather and that it wonโt be as bad come flower time.
I wanted to add from this morning's update that the smell is getting stronger, already quite pungent somewhat 'skunky' smell when entering tent. Stem rub smells are much more complex, each pheno taking on different properties. I'll speak more of the scent particularities later when we're hitting flower.
@Lemonhazelover, Thank you for commenting! I'm very proud of them and though I still have some learning to do, they have responded very well to my nurture ๐
Small update: both plants have been chopped, one has completed dry and was just trimmed last night. Jane was over-dry for sure, likely even started drying in the pot before harvest but this is the result of only having one tent to dry with; having to chop Jane late and Joan early. Will post harvest update once Joan is trimmed and weighed ๐
Wanted to add a couple notes: THE SMELLS omg they're amazing. When entering the tent, you get punched with the skunkiness of this lineage; getting closer and smelling Jane's flowers reveals gassy citrus candy, imagine orange Skittles with fumes ๐
Loupe arrived so I can do less invasive trichome checks. May not be any trichome pics next week but expect extra the following week as harvest will likely be very near.
