My first time on here. I’ve been growing couple years now. I’m still very new to this. In the beginning I was caught up in the LED light hustle and wasted a lot of time and money on garbage lights. Made the switch to HPS/MH and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly not much difference in electric bill. The LEDs that I was running got just as hot and used just as much electricity some how. The nuts I’m using are GH. 6 different GH nuts.
Very excited about this strain. I remember my first time trying white widow and I thought damn the taste is incredible. Now I’m finally Able to grow. This one was a must have. I would like to mention that I’ve had better results with using a flowering bulb for veg. And flower. Ushio opti-red throws out a lot of green and blue light. Red as well but for Veg. We know that the cooler colors of the spectrum seem to work best in Veg. Well I’ve noticed that when I use MH bulb for veg and switch to HPS for flower it takes 10 or 11 days before the Pistils show up. And I’ve also noticed that using HPS light for Veg will make them grow shorter and wider than MH will. I also want to mention that I do have co2 maker. Home made of corse. Sugar and yeast in water that’s it. I make a sugar jello to slow down the co2 making process. A lot cheaper than the stuff sold on line. I found that if you want tight/dense nuggets then co2 maker is just as important as your light or nuts or fresh air. I like to run an air tube like a fish aquarium one from a gallon jug with a lid that has small hole for hose to fit tightly. Run the other end up to top of room and have water bottle half full hanging there with tubing all the way in water so you can see your co2 bubbling out. This will let you know when to change it. And you need to mount at the top of room because c02 is heavier than air so you want it cascading down like a waterfall right onto your plants. I also put a couple of air stones in the bottom of fabric pot with air lines running out. Then I fill with dirt. When I first started growing I would over water all the time. So I came up with this. When and if I over water I just hook up small aquarium air pump to the lines running out of pot and it will dry up the soil pretty darn quick. I still do this today even tho I don’t overwater but just in case ya kno. Let’s Grow!!!
The beginning of week I let her fill out a little more. At end of this week I’ll put some tie downs on the Kim’s to start trading them. Everything is looking good nice color nice uniform leaves. The topping cut is healing up nicely it’s turning blackish like it should. I’m happy she is too. Let’s grow
I had to move them to another room for the day. I found some cheap windshield sun reflectors at the store for cheap. So I lined my walls in the grow room kinda like the grow tents. It’s definitely working. The plant is opening up and taking the nuts well. The training is growing smooth as well.
This is last week before the switch. I started defoliating last week and I’ll finish it up this week. I like to give it some time to recover while in first week of flowering. Continue to LST we’re ever needed. I like to Open it up and spread it out all the way past the edges of the pot so that all branches are evenly spaced. Let’s grow!!!
I moved some branch’s to middle of plant only place to put them. I can’t trim them because it will stress plant too much. Right now I like not to stress it out. I’d like to mention I made a rookie mistake and got one of my watering jugs mixed up and I gave this plant too much koolbloom to start out with. This stuff is amazing if you use correct if you over do it. It will burn the hell out of your plant. So I like to start off with 2ml/gal and the floralicous plus is so concentrated that you only use 1ml/gal. It makes them taste so good. Let’s Grow!!!
I think the stretch is done and she is putting all her energy into bud building and recovering from the over feeding mistake I made last week with the koolbloom. The smell is noticeable stronger.
This week is looking good. More and more white hairs/Pistils are coming through. The buds are definitely gaining weight and smells. The Trichomes are loaded everywhere most are still clear some are cloudy. Some pistols have turned brown but mostly all of them are still white. I’m shoring up the buds some of them I’m going to let them lay on their side this will fatten them right up we’re their lacking. Let’s Grow!!!!
The plant leafs that were burned from my mistake I made couple weeks ago with the over feeding of koolbloom haven’t recovered in fact they are starting to taco. I hate that taco burnt taco leafs. The buds don’t seem to be effected by this. They’re still growing and gaining weight some have to be held up with yoyo hangers. Love these things. Let’s Grow!!!
This week was a hot week. Mostly in the 83 degree range a little hotter than I like. I’m using FF nuts and GH nuts in a side by side comparison and the GH nuts made the buds way bigger than FF. A couple more weeks and I’ll give them the chop.let’s Grow!!
This is beginning of the 8th week. I think I’ll start the flush at the end of this week. Depending on the Trichomes of course. Happy growing folks. Thanks to seedsman for the bomb ass seeds.
started flush 2 weeks before harvest and it flushed out everything. No taste nothing but a little buzz that didn’t last. Buds looked amazing and they were dense. Should I flush GH nuts?
flushing didn't cause that. If you smoke something right off the plant or even quick dry it in a few days, it usually tastes like shit or nothing at all. Some weed is great right away, others taste distinctly better 3-4 weeks later. Assuming you dry it not-too-fast and treat it like a fine cigar as far as storage (55-62 RH and room temp or cooler)
I see mostly white pistils. i'd wait longer. get a 30x magnifier of any kind - hand scope, currency checker, jeweler's loupe. use that to assess trichomes. when you want to harvest will depend on your preferences. you need a bit of trial and error. 10-70% amber is a fairly general consensus. some even wait for 100%. i prefer an earlier window. pistils work well too, but probably a bit more variation in what you see compared to trichomes (i.e. trichomes have a stronger correlation, but use both.. even density of nugs is a great way to asses when to harvest as long as you only do that as final verification - don't be squeezing nugs the last 2-3 weeks, lol)
if you want something to make you sleepy, go with more amber.
as with all drugs, it may affect you differently than others. e.g. Nyquil knocks some people out (love it) and for some it makes them hyperactive (fewer peopel experience this, but happens). So, keep an open mind. don't read too much into what others do. trust yourself.
technically, cloudy is when potency starts to decline in a trichome. but, there's layers of growth to consider all at different points in development.
some people blast the shit out of their canopy at end and force a whole new round of pistils to pop out... what you smoke is the average of it all. So, even how it develops could impact choices related to flavor and potency at end.
This plant took off when the switch to 12/12 was mad. Almost over night you could see it. Lots of budding. Very easy to grow. Unbelievable amount of trichomes. This is my favorite grow so far. I have 7.6 ounces of dry herb on the GH plant and the plant I used FF I have right at 4 ounces. I’m still curing them. I will say I tried a little of the GH plant and the taste was so damn good. I only took very small hit and I was so happy with the taste I’m really excited to see what it’s like after curing for a month. Also from that little taste test I definitely got a buzz. If everything goes well in the cure this will be my best harvest yet. I love growing these ladies. Best of luck with your grows. If you haven’t had a successful grow just keep at it. Easy bush to grow. Hearty bush as well. With monster colas. Even the buds not in the sweet zone of the light are nice and big covered with trichomes. I’m really excited to see how it turns out. I would recommend all new growers to try this easy plant. Let’s Grow!!!
