About the pictures this week... I did start out with 2 different strains (Gorilla Glue #4 Auto & White Widdow Auto) but failed to germinate the White Widdow successfully. However, I figured I should explain since the pictures do show 2 different plants.
Just recounting my failure, I'm pretty sure this was entirely my fault. It was inside the baggie taped to the back of the hottest part of the TV :( I'm surprised that one lived to tbh... I had both VIVOSUN AeroLight, 100W LED Grow Lights w/Integrated Circulation Fan, and Samsung 301B Diodes running at the same time and it got really hot! Not to mention, I had my lights hanging extremely close to the babies (less than 15" in away) @ 60% power.
So from here on out, I'll only be journaling the Gorilla Glue #4 Auto:
Day 0 - Started germination on using the paper towel Method and PH'd water RO water. Placed in a ziplocked baggie, tapped to the back of a hot TV, in a semi-dark place.
Day 1 - Checked paper towel for dampness. The paper towel inside the baggie seemed pretty damp but I still added ~ 4ml of 7.0 PH'd RO water.
Day 2 - Checked the paper towel for dampness and noticed she pop'd. So I went ahead and planted her 1/4" deep, in a 1.5gal fabric pot using Happy Frog soil from Fox Farms unamended. Watered down soil (with a little runoff), using 7.1 PH'd water, and placed in grow tent.
Day 3 - The first overnight stay in the tent did not go well. The average temp was around 78F-80F and between 55%-60% relative humidity. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to keep the environment stable enough for her to sprout through the soil.
Day 4 - Figured out how to keep the environment stable. The average temp was around 75F-77F and between 65%-70% relative humidity in the grow tent. After the environment was stabilized, I witnessed the first part of the seedling sprout in the early evening (it was magical)! Spritzed soil around the seedling using 7.1 PH'd water
Day 5 - Worked on making the environment inside the tent more suitable for her after some research. Decided to switch over to metric to measure temp with some trial and error (went down to 1 light, 3 fans, and ventilation/exhaust). Able to keep a steady 23C-24C and between 75%-78% relative humidity inside the grow tent running one light set to seedling at 60% power, 3 fans, and the ventilation/exhaust. Lightly spritzed the soil and seedling using 7.1 PH'd water.
Day 6 - Looks like she's coming along nicely! Not much happening here, just making sure she's in the right Temp/RH (24C-25C & 70%-75% RH) and not drying out. Again, another light spritzing on the soil right next to the seedling (where I think her roots are) using 7.1 PH'd RO water
Day 7 - I'm so excited about her growth, I honestly don't know what I'm doing, most first-time parents don't ...HAHA! At any rate, I think she's growing on track, based on my research but again I really don't know what to expect. I'm being as cautious as I can to make sure she's doesn't get too thirsty. That the water I give her is good and, her overall environment is just right enough to keep her happy.
I'll just have to see how she develops over time but, so far so good...
