Was in cheese cloth for a few days until they cracked and then placed into soil today. Day 3.
In a few days the small pots (mandarin cream photo period) will be placed in DWC system to begin their cycle.
Whereas the tangerine dream are in 4l pots and will finish up in those..
As always I use mycorrizial fungi to aid root development.
Apparently these are fast growers so let's see how they do.
ok so heres what i have going on.
one cabinet has three Tangerine Dream in organic soil.
the other has one 5gal DWC Bubbler with 2 Mandarin Cream in it.
TD is coming on well, all three are out and enjoying the better light this time round.
MC #1 has just rooted out through the substrate, clay balls and into the nute solution.. whereas #2 is looking a little sunburnt so i covered her with a paper cake tray to minimise the 2000w beams hitting her.
i suppose the next week or so will let me know if she makes it. i hope she does.
we spent the last few weeks gathering up all the pieces we need so we can focus on the job at hand instead of gathering up supplies.
it seems to be a much better way of doing things.
during week one we realised the temps were raising as high as 32C, this was unacceptable.
so we drilled holes in the side and added a ventilation shaft which soon allowed the temps to lower by 6 to 11C
dependant on time of day and ambient temps.
all water is phd to 5.8.
so far it all seems ok.
everything is growing nicely.
had issue with the main stem on one plant, i snapped it accidentally and then splint-taped it, but 2 days later its effectively dead.
all the leaves have dropped and shriveled although the stem seems to be alive but nothing to do but wait
and see what happens...
other than that i started 12/12 yesterday for our photoperiod. the growth in hydro is wild, ive never seen so many nodes on such a small plant before.
it has no space between the layers either, so i imagine this baby is gonna be a whopper, especially since i fimmed her and she has grown a strange 5 node top, so im gonna get a net in there in a week and start to spread her out.
we shall see what happens over the next 2 months...
things have gone well.
we are into week 7 now, 2nd week of bloom is here.
three tangerine dreams are doing okay in the soil but the real star of the show is the hydro Mandarin cream.
since it was flipped to 12-12 it has easily doubled its height and density.
not much to say really so ill leave it here for now
the smells are amazing and id highly recommend using DWC instead of soil as the growth is immense.
ive trimmed her fan leaves away and will be leaving her for the next 2 weeks to thicken up before we crop this amazing girl.
got her wrapped up in a net so she can focus on growing huge flowers.
my tangerine dreams are coming along ok, but they look puny in comparison so im a bit concerned that they wont be ready in 18days and might have to go another month or so....
either way everything is growing, and im planning my next one.
im thinking of skywalker og runts and fastbud 2.
i really love sweet seeds genetics they always kick out wicked buds. in a decent time.
dunno why barneys farm seeds have gone downhill, but im not bothering with them again, they never tell the truth. its ALWAYS LONGER than they claim.
