Gonna use this grow as a teaching grow, so I hope it all goes well, I'm expecting some nice tight buds on the cherry cheesecake, and from the amnesia which is a very old seed, I'm expecting a large willowy plant. Auto respond well to being topped in these pyramids, even a late topping at the 6th node is possible, but that depends on how it grows. There will probably not be much defoliating on the Amnesia, but there likely will be some defoliation on the cherry cheesecake but that all depends on how they grow.
End of week one and everything is looking good. Although in the past I didn't use any nutes for the first week, in this case I soaked the plugs in 1000ppm solution prior to putting the plug in the pyramid. I let the plug dry out and only rewet if there were any dry patches always water from the sides for the first few weeks and not over water. Some plants don't mind over watering but some get a bit sensitive better to be on the safe side.
Week two Amnesia is growing fast as expected, and cherry cheesecake is also looking squat, also expected. Because I know that the first set of branches will not be happy in a compact plant I have already removed them. However because the amnesia has good internal spacing, and I know it's a bit producer I have let the the first set of branches to continue, for the time being. Both of these plants are going to be topped. But when exactly will be a decision I can leave for a while. Possibly the Cherry might get a late topping at node 6, but the Amnesia is probably going to get topped at the fourth node but I may do it later depending on how they look over the next week.
I mixed up a bucket to 1200ppm but I've only used a couple of litres over the past two weeks. As the plug begins to dry on the outside at this early stage I'll give them some plain tap water, because they don't use much anyway, otherwise it seems there could be a build up of nutes. I sort of play it by ear. Not really that important, at this stage it better to simply pay attention to not over watering, plug weighs about 150g and they hold about 500g of water, with the seedling not weight much at this stage, I like to keep the total weight under 500g.
Both beans are growing true to type, the Amnesia is tall and lanky as expected and at 8 inches, twice the height of the Charry Cheesecake. Because of the squat shape of the cherry, the shoots coming out of the first pair of single leaves was removed before they even had a chance to emerge. I am going to do a late topping on both of these probably early next week at the next pair of leave. I'm still using the same 9 litre bucket of nutrient that I mixed up f rom the start. I water from the sides and keep the weight of the plug below 500g in weight during this critical time.
There is a small brown spot on one of the larger leaves on the amnesia, but that is meaningless because all the fan leaves are coming off anyway.
both have doubled in size and both have begun flowering. They also both had a very severe late topping, just for the hell of it. Still using the same bucket of nute I mixed up early on but I have added a little bit of extra bloom nutes seeing as they look like they might need it. A couple of leaves on the Amnesia went a bit necrotic but not a problem everything else is fine. Very curious to see how the rough treatment is going to affect them both.
Amnesia is now 20" and the Cherry Cheesecake is half that at 10", still a bit small probably due to some egressing late topping. The next two weeks will be interesting, looking a bit sparse at the moment.
I couldn't be bothered keeping track of these as I was tending the main tent and I think I went a bit to savage on them. A very poor result, prolly topped too late. The Amnesia still grew big but nowhere near the 4 zips I got on a different mini pyramid. I don't much like the flavour of the Amnesia but the smoke is strong, and cherry cheesecake didn't really have its normal flavour, but also it did do the job.

@Seedsman, Hi, this was a freebie from an old order. Seedsman was my go to supplier but then a package did not arrive and it did not indicate that it had even left Langley. I had numerous email correspondence with Ruth, who just stuck to her line that basically I needed to read the fine print and she politely but firmly advised me to go fuck myself. I'm paraphrasing of course. So now I use someone else and I let anyone who is interested know my experience at Seedsman. I know this is nothing to do with you but seeing as you asked! But this is all over for me. As you can see from my diaries I've even promoted seedsman in some of the titles of my diaries. Hopefully this information will be useful to your company in the future.
