Ophis Seeds were soaked in tap water in a shot glass until they split. Split seeds were transferred to a wet paper towel in a plastic bag and left in a warm dark location. Once a tap root developed the seeds were placed in a fabric pot with potting spoil in it.
At this point in the process I didn’t have any nutrients or even pH tools yet so water was plain tap water.
Seeds were kept next to a warm reptile light between two ceramic plates to keep them warm. Make sure to add water to the bag to keep it damp but not soaking wet.
Lights were kept on a 18-6 light:dark schedule. I probably had the light too far away and could have had it closer and simply turned the brightness farther down. Not a lot of light is required at this stage.

Ophis Tap water was used with no nutrients with no pH balance. Growth was slow likely due to the light being so far away.
Seedling needed to be propped up to help it support itself.

Ophis Slow but steady growth progress.
Still watered with plain tap water.
pH of the water was too high (~8) likely caused an iron deficiency, new growth was white and spotty, lowering the pH of the water fixed this issue in coming days.

Ophis Leaves got slightly burnt earlier in the week when I lowered the light too suddenly.
I began adding nutrients and pH balancing the water at this point. This helped the discoloration in the leaves and made the plant grow much faster.
I replaced the wire with a stake to better hold the plant in place.

Ophis Nice Growth this week, plant appeared much healthier with the new nutrients added. Purple stems can be the result of a cal mag deficiency which I didn't end up addressing until switching to flower.

Ophis Lots of growth, not a ton of issues. Topped the plant and began low stress training.
Could plant closer to the edge of the pot in the future to allow for more even bending of the stalk.

Ophis Lots of growth, water and ignore. I topped all of the branches after about three nodes of growth. I also remove dying leaves from the bottom of the plant that don't have much access to the light

Ophis Continued growth, no major issues. I used low stress training clips that I got to bend the branches out to make the plant bushier. My light was too high above my plant so I lowered it a lot.

Ophis Smell was getting much stronger inside by this point. I am using a carbon filter but I have the exhaust blowing directly into my room. I also increased the amount of nutrients I used based on the General Hydroponic guidelines.

Ophis The plant is getting much bigger at this point and is getting very dense, too ensure proper air circulation I would defoliate the plant at the bottom or in any densely grown areas of the plant. Also any small branches completely shaded can be removed to allow the rest of the plant to grow larger.

Ophis This ended up being the last week of veg. I set the exhaust to go out of the window at this point which made the smell inside much less except when the door to the tent is open. I stopped veg at this point because I was running out of patients and I left a good amount of space in the tent for the plant to grow while in flower because I didn't know much much room I would need.

Ophis The light was reduced to 12 hours per day. I added a trellis to the tent to separate the branches. More pistols were developed at this point and it was clear that the plant was going into bloom. I was also dissatisfied by the brightness and light distribution of my light. This was fixed in the next week.

Ophis Plant was blooming at this point beautiful flowers were developing. I did a pretty heavy defoliation to allow more energy to go into the buds. Second ls1000 was added to allow for more even light, as well as getting the peak brightness of the tent up to almost 2000 ppfd at about 12-14 inces from the top of the plant. At this point I am running the lights at about 70% brightness.

Ophis Awesome growth this week, lots of good flower development, I did a heavy defoliation at the end of the week and may have gone a bit too far, I left the top two opposing fan leaves on every top but took most of the lower ones off to allow light to penetrate deeper into the canopy.
I ended up putting a second Mars Hydro LS-1000 in the tent as I wanted to provide more light to my flowers and thought that the low price would easily be made up for with flower production.

Ophis I didn't do much this week but feed and watch the trichomes develop. The plant is taking a lot of water but is starting to need it less frequently, I fed this one plant about a gallon every other day.

Ophis Not much work at this point, fed every 2-3 days with about a gallon of water each time. Also I tried to do some defoliation in some of the more crowded areas to reduce the chances of mold or disease but I kept a couple large fan leaves on every top.

Ophis I stopped feeding the plant this week to allow it to adsorb the rest of the nutrients in the soil. I only pH treated the water to ensure the minerals in the soil could still be adsorbed. I ran out of fan leaves I felt comfortable defoliating so at this point I was watering and checking trichomes to monitor development.

Ophis Flushed with pH adjusted water, no nutrients this week. Checking trichomes looking for around 10% amber overall. Note there are more amber tris on the sugar leaves as they will develop faster. 10% refers to the whole plant. I did a couple of feedings with cold water to encourage the color change.
Ophis Cut the whole thing at the stem, took 10 days to fully dry. Got about 6 Oz of flower and another 40g of trim. Really fun grow, I already have another Skeletor seed popped and I'm looking forward to starting a sativa strain as well after I clean out the tent.
