Strong start to the seeds!
Germinated tap roots within 24 hours of soak, seedlings popped up within 18 hours of planting.
Planted into BioBizz in 10L Air Pots. Used a 50/50 split of light mix and all mix soils, all mix in the bottom half of the pot and light mix in the top half.
Looking forward to uploading the journey!
Been a strong 8 days so far!
Growth has been steady away, RH kept high with the humidifier means the VPD has been on point in the tent.
Inkbird set up is making it really easy to maintain, light has been on 40% power for first week so bumped up to 60% for this week with the introduction of feeding.
Excited to see the boom in growth!
DAY 11 UPDATE:
Responding really well to the nutrients, colour really vibrant green, plants are praying: always a good sign!!
DAY 12 UPDATE:
Strawberry Banana seems to have shot up in the last 24 hours. Started LST on this girl 👍
DAY 13 UPDATE:
Root balls should be well into the bottom half of the pot now and therefore into the BioBizz All Mix part of the pot, changed feeds to accommodate, dropped to 1ml each Grow+Bloom instead of two.
Gorilla Cookies seems to have caught up a bit now so LST started. Strawberry Banana already fighting against the LST so repinned today (see pic)
Also noticed some slight brown spots and leaf curling, may need to introduce CalMag with next feed as haven't been using it up to now to correct. Will assess on day 14 and adjust.
New update on week 3!
Day 14!
Another great week in the tent!
Started LST last week and so far the girls are responding really well.
Unfortunately I noticed yesterday (day 13, end of week 2) some slight brown spotting on the first leaves and some leaf curling. I saw this after feeding while training so had no opportunity to rectify with CalMag.
Today I introduced CalMag into the feed and gave a light water to try and fix the issues promptly, adding at 1ml per litre.
DAY 20 UPDATE:
CalMag issue definitely got a little worse before it got better but seems to have slowed now after 2 watering with the addition of CalMag.
Will really be able to tell next week but I'm confident that they will be ok :)
Really responding well to the LST now, probably doing the final bits now before the stretch starts.
Got a nice even spread so will be interesting to see the shape they take when they kick into flower.
DAY 21! Start of week 4.
So far so good!
There's definitely a clear difference in the plants, both growing well but Strawberry Banana already starting to go into its stretch.
Seem to have mostly recovered from the CalMag issue but still seeing some slightly bent tips. I've only had to water every other day with the tent VPD being in the green so not had much of an opportunity to introduce much CalMag but will be using in every water now.
With the Strawberry Banana going into stretch I've introduced some flower nutrients at 1ml/L, will increase next water to 2ml/L and then incrementally as the weeks progress. Feeding as per previous weeks on Gorilla Cookies until that starts to stretch.
Both plants responding well to the LST, I tend to be a bit more extreme with the forming of my plant structure with LST but it is really paying off, especially with the strawberry banana, plenty of top sites for buds.
Also had a little day 21 trim, taking off some of the bigger and old leaves that were in the way somewhat of the LST and bud sites.
Progress a little slower with the Gorilla Cookies but should see that kick off this week hopefully!
DAY 26 UPDATE!
All is well in the tent!
CalMag issue is now well and truly fixed, girls are a lovely vibrant colour and doing really well.
Gorilla Cookies is starting to enter its stretch finally so has received flower nutrients and I've upped the flower feed on the Strawberry Banana as she is absolutely flying now.
LST on the Strawberry is pretty much done with now, almost time to let her do her thing and fatten up. A bit more work to do on the Gorilla but now she's finally starting flower we can have some fun!
Done a slight bit more defoliation on both plants but nothing drastic at all, again just taking off some of the older fans.
Everything has been going super well, I was slightly worried about the Gorilla Cookies as she was so much smaller than the Strawberry Banana but she's hit her stretch now.
She had about an extra week in veg so will have to accommodate for that when it comes to harvest but all is well!
Really happy with the frame on the Strawberry Banana, lots of tops for colas, hoping to get a similar structure out of the GC now she's doing her thing.
Feedings still going well, pretty much done with training the SB now and just letting her stack.
Some slight environmental changes now we've hit the flower stage, dropped temps slightly to around 23°C and humidity at 55%, always keeping the VPD in mind!
We keep going!
Another steady week!
I did miss a day of feeding due to family commitments and boy were they thirsty!
Had some slight yellowing but other than that everything going super smooth!
Both plants flowering nicely, the Strawberry Banana is stacking nice and the Gorilla Cookies is just starting to bulk up.
Some nice frosting coming in on the leaves now which is always a good sign.
Environmental changes: I've taken out the humidifier now and the tent is bang on where it needs to be at this stage.
Will start dropping the temp a degree a week until I hit around 21C in week 8.
Starting feeding homemade banana tea for that boost once a week!!
Another steady week, feed increased in accordance with chart. Still got the banana tea on the go, plants seem to love it.
One thing I have noticed since the introduction of all these nutrients and especially since the plants have started filling out bud wise is some slight CalMag deficiency showing so increased to 2ml/L in hopes of fixing it.
Other than that steady away really! Starting to really stink up now, might be time for the carbon filter!
Still pretty steady going!
Just technically got to the end of week 9 now, day 65 is the day of this update. The whole week system on here confused me at first I'll try be more accurate with the next diary.
No change to the plants in terms of colour, still the same as when I made fixes so they seem to be just doing their thing now.
Stacking nicely, got one more week of solid feeds then I'll start a two week flush before they come down.
Don't think the heavy LST did the GC any flavours as she is smaller than id liked to but it was my first run back in a long time.
All in all looking nice and frosty, getting excited now!
Next diary is already uploaded and I'm running photo this time round with big plans ❤️
Small harvest but to be expected from a very small auto, not bad for a return grow, definitely helped me get into the headspace again.
Also definitely pulled a little earlier than intended but needed the space back. Not held to limitations on the next grow so excited to see if I can push these yields.
Really enjoyed this run, and a collective harvest of 4oz between two plants isn't too bad. Will see me through till harvesting the next one!
It's been a good time, can't wait to come back bigger and better with more care and attention and more yields!
@NamasteDave, thank you!
Not 100% happy with it, there's always something I could have done better in my eyes haha
Your kind words are appreciated sir 👊
