Inspired by the user @love_2_grow, I've decided to follow in their footsteps with this promising pure CBD strain from Royal Queen Seeds. Purplematic CBD THC: 0,5% CBD: 17% Yield Indoor : 375 - 450 gr/m2 Height Indoor: 70 - 120 cm Flowering time: 7 - 8 weeks Harvest Month: 8 - 9 weeks after sprouting Genetic Background: Kush Rose Auto CBD x Afghan Rose Auto CBD Type: Sativa 5% Indica 90% Ruderalis 5% Effect: Calming, Clear Flavor: Candy, Fruity, Pineapple This is my first attempt to grow a plant from seed after my loved kalanchoe passed away few months ago, probably overwatered him so I hope to have learned the lesson. It will be done on a tiny 60x60x160 tent with 120W led and the driver out to cool down, this way plus a 15W fan blowing on top of the aluminium led panel the temp increase keeps under +2°C at full power avoiding summer time/room temperature above 25°C. 10/17/2023 Preparation of the All Mix substrate from Boom Nutrients in the four 24L textile pots, adding 64 grams of mycorrhizal inoculant TNC MycorrPlus to each, in layers every few centimeters of substrate. On top of each pot, I added 1kg of worm humus and watered the pots with the corresponding 12% of 25L of demineralized RO reverse osmosis water without adjusting acidity (pH 6.9), making sure the pots were moist but not draining. Next, I added about 25 red worms to one side of each pot with a bit of crushed cardboard and green bean. To finish, I placed a layer of rice husks on top to retain the substrate's moisture, and I let the seeds soak in an RO water glass with a teaspoon of mycorrhizae overnight. 10/18/2023 The long-awaited day, with the help of a teaspoon, I removed the seeds from the water glass and made nuggets of Purplematic CBD, coating them with mycorrhizae powder before placing each one in its pot, 10mm deep, and watering over each with a single teaspoon of the same water they soaked in overnight. I will leave the cabinet with the lights off until they germinate. Following the seedlings' VPD table guideline, I will maintain humidity around 82% and a temperature of about 24.5°C. Climate control will be possible with the help of two terrarium controllers. An algorithmic PID controls a small 300W ceramic fan, and another relay-type controller activates extraction for excess temperature and intake for excess humidity. Once they germinate, they will switch to 24-hour LED lighting with a 12 DLI, as I only have 120W and 600PPFD at 23cm. This seems the only way to achieve optimal DLI values once flowering with the lowest possible energy consumption. Now, it's time to wait...

D1. Three of them make it to 2cm in three days, the fourth one already rooted but taking it easy, I watered them a bit and covered the lazy one to blackout and see if she can do it 💪 Lighting at 8.5 DLI (100 PPFD@24h) with the lamp dimmed at 57cm from the soil. D2. The lazy seed still struggling to sprout but seems she's so close to make it since she's already out the soil. The three strong ones already grew to 4 cm in 24 hours, +2 cm, a growing rate of 0,83mm per hour. Following the seedling schedule lighting now will be at 12 DLI the whole first week. D3. The seedlings are growing strong except the little lazy one, I had to help her sprouting this morning using tweezers since both leaves were trapped inside the seed not being able to open by itself, unlike the other ones that did it by themselves three days ago. Will she gonna make it? Let's give her time 💪 D5. The red worms look very active but the leaf tips are curling up so I moved from 24h lighting to 20h and let em rest a bit keeping 12 DLI and 80% humidity while lowering temp at night from 25°C to 23°C. The lazy seedling still so small and definitely don't match their sisters growth rate, let's see if there is any progress next days. Also I already installed the Blumat, the parcel arrived missing the final drippers and the 3mm tube but they already send it. I adjusted the system following Michael Box top tip on this Growcast podcast, https://youtu.be/g5YFcxW3kXI?si=tkm6F1fF65CaNruq It consist on adjust the holding drip at atmospheric pressure without the ceramic cone/tube part, then from there screwed the regulator one more carrot (on gravity systems), mark it and put on the locking cap, this way it should provide 80mbar of water tension so there is no need to keep readjusting and you can leave it that way between runs. I use the Tropf max version expecting to keep the bottom of the 25L pots not so moist since 8 days later of the only watering done the moisture is still at 56mbar, looks like it will take some time to start dripping on. Meanwhile I'll keep an eye on the top moisture and if needed just hand water few mililiters a couple inches from the stems. D7. Today I received the missing parts from Blumat and this is the last day of the first week! I think they are looking good despite the little curled up tips from fifth day at 24h but lighting schedule is already changed down to 20h since fifth day midnight. Now they are 6 cm tall and look like they want to start vegging, tomorrow I'll start to daily increase DLI progressively until achieve 16 DLI by the end of the week. The lazy one seems to be doing it, very lazy but growing a little bit every day 💪

In my last grow i had 2 of these, both topped themselves and hat some strange anomaly's. They caught up in growth and yielded as good as the others. Why don't you keep that 1 AND plant 1 extra 😎 Good luck, High Mountain Gardening

D9. Second day of the second week they keep growing strong, between 6 and 7cm high and already going for the third floor of leafs. All the girls are doing fine in exception of the little lazy one, the gap on growth rate between her and the others is bigger every day. 16 DLI. 80% Humidity at 20 hours lighting, 25°C at day and 23°C at night. Micro hand watering every couple of days srynge filled with RO water pH down to 5.8 with phosphoric acid, corrected EC to 0.4 with Biobizz Cal-Mag and 1ml/l of Hygrozime. I keep the 20L Blumat reservoir sterile with just RO water, 1ml/l of Hygrozime, pH corrected to 5.8 with phosphoric acid and no cal-mag solution in the tank to prevent future clogs in the drippers, I will add solid slow release cal-mag balls under the drippers to improve dripping water EC. D10. I discovered why one of the plants had those clear green stain mottling on the leafs, thanks God it was not tobacco mosaic virus as one growmy suggested as an option between water residue or that, it made me think about and luckily it was not, the reason was condensation in the exhaust aluminium tube just dripping above the little plant and making leaf burns anywhere the water dripping went in the poor plant. D12. They look definitely on veg stage, already on the third leaf floor and stretched to 8 cm. First day providing aerated Bactohemp with Hygrozime and Cal-Mag formulation to help root growth after two days without handwater. Yesterday was the first day that Blumat Tropf Max started dripping water, suposed to be at 80mbar but the digital tensiometer is measuring 65mbar, all good. The lazy one still growing very lazy, the difference on growth rate is more than significant. D14. Last day of the second week they are already 9 - 10cm and triple it's size 💪 Tomorrow I'll start increasing DLI from 16 to achieve 20 next week, also check soil moisture to consider another hand watering. The little lazy one still taking her time but she's not looking worried at all so decided to give her a little soul feeding; 🎵Bob Marley - Satisfy My Soul https://open.spotify.com/track/5Uv1YNz6uBepPLDdoFANKQ?si=qb7JBrVNQMOA52Ak8LXaYg

Shit, that could be early stage TMV, Tobacco Mosaic Virus. Then again, it could be shit from water that got on the leaves and evaporated and left residue.

D17. Already on the third week and just three days after the last update, they are already 14-16cm tall and around 30cm spread, I have no idea but I think this would be the begining of full grow mode. Also the little one seems to be happier, today I attached a piece of blumat tube to make her more straight and also receive more light since she was growing wrong direction. Now they are at more or less 25 DLI and the temperature is around 25°C 80% humidity. One thing I've noticed is that the 25L pots at the bottom started to dry faster than when the plants were on seedling stage, in just four days the bottom of the pots went from 54mbar to 71mbar after watering just 500ml per pot. Not sure if that happen because the increased light power plus the fact I lowered the lamp height to 41cm from 57cm, and maybe they are taking more water since they look noticeably much bigger than a few days before. At around 70mbar at the bottom of the pots, +-10mbar, the Tropf Max valves were calibrated to start providing flow to the drippers. Tonight I gave them again 500ml each of RO water with Bactohemp and organic Biobizz Cal-Mag aerated for 13 hours pH corrected with phosphoric acid until 5.8 pH. As a first time grower I am very surprised of the grow rate they achieve in just three days but I am not sure to be able to achieve near 40DLI once in flower at 20 hours since right now at full power and just 41cm over the soil the DLI value is around 25. That is the main reason why I started at 24 hours but stepped back to 20 hours when all the leaf tips started curling up. I just have 120W in the 60x60 tent and I am not able to provide more than 600ppfd at just 23cm. Let's see how they grow despite the maths 💪 D19. They are growing like a beast, also the lazy one is on fire. Today I hand watered again and rised the pH from 5.8 to 6.4. This time I increased EC to 0.9 from 0.4 Cal-Mag and 0.1 algae plus Bactohemp and Higrozyme. I'll keep humidity at 80% and 25°C until flower. The bottom of the pots are at 60mbar after watering, the tension lowered 10mbar from 70 before hand watering 500ml each in the 7 gallon pots. I guess I'll strat to figure out how to LST soon to flatten the canopies. Let' see!

D22. First day of the fourth week, one week away from the automatic flower switch. Strong grow, 28cm high and more than 30cm spread, they made 10cm stretch the last three days since last watering on day 19, today the leafs were pointing down and the digital tensiometer was measuring 71mbar in the bottom of the pots. Today I watered again, this time instead of the usual 500ml each I went closer to 5% of the pots giving em 1L each pH to 6.0 and kept EC in 0.9 from base of 0.4 cal-mag, used biobizz grow, hygrozyme 1ml/L and bactohemp, lowered pH with phosphoric acid. I'll start to LST anytime but today I just cut off everything in the first floor to clear the base since it's already in complete shadow. Next step will be to guide them in order to achieve a flat canopy. The lazy plant is getting stronger everyday but leaf color is diferent than their sisters being same strain, will see how she end up next weeks 💪 D25. At three days from fifth week and official flower switch they keep growing strong like 35 to 40cm high and 35 to 40cm spread but after some leaf anomalies and after watering yesterday I saw something weird in the yellow sticky traps, they were full of black pigment and after check em under microscope they seem to be thrip infestation that I gonna treat with foliar phyretrine and neem oil on the soil but meanwhile I put four more sticky traps. On yesterday watering I made leaf juice mixed with cal-mag, fertilizer, bactohemp and hygrozyme, the reaction when aerating the mix was huge! I got the lazy plant higher to be able to receive similar DLI as her sisters but it still keep growing lazier than the others. I hope the fertilizers arrive in time before flower switch!

Looks like thrips larvea, not bad if taken in time. You already have yellow sticky stuff for adult thrips, but larvea are living in the soil. Flushing the soil is an options, not my favorite. The other is increasing runoff every watering.

No, it's a bug. :3 Some insect can enter you grow room in differents way: from the soil you use or just because you opened your box. Not bad as long as it's not an invasion. ^^

D29. First day of fifth week and things are getting rough, I have a thrip infestation and today I decided to clean the canopies and see how it goes, some fans grew dehidrated, others have little holes that look like little white spots, the yellow traps are infested of thirp larvae and the blue ones catch some thirp flyies. I hope they recover and get the plague under control, two days ago I sprayed them with potassic soap and next week I'll spray them again but mixing with phyrethrine for foliar and with neem oil in soil watering. The lazy seed keep growing weird and will see if she improve her health after the defoliation, also another plant look very bad probably because of the thrip. Today I watered 500ml each after the bluemats with bloom biobizz to EC 1.4 from 0.4 cal-mag plus 2ml/L hygrozyme and some bactohemp dust. Mbar tension was over 50 but lately they are so thirsty. Let's see how it goes! D34. Five days after the thrip infestation holocaust, fighted back with potassic soap, neem oil and pyrethrin for foliar and just neem oil mixed when watering, looks like the thrips lost this battle but the war it's not over yet, next week I'll repeat a second round. It was my first time clearing the canopy and I had in mind to concentrate all the plant energy on the top colas just removing everything below, literally everything, lower braches, top branches when too crowded, big leaf and all the little buds growing below the very top, one mate told me that this increase the chance to get hermie girls due to the high stress and also a significative lost of production because they have been stunted for almost three days. But now everything seems fine and they start looking much better, I'd say recovered and growing stronger than ever. This week I turned off Blumats because it was too much to handle for a first grow and yesterday I watered again, from now on I'll be watering every 2 days about 5% of pot capacity, 6.5 gallon pots (25L).

The holes are the bugs. Looks like nutrition is too strong or you are not getting proper run off at feeding. You should make a neemboil mixture and just treat all the plants for a week. Then that is one less issue. Can easily do it with no flowers yet to worry about. Neem oil water and dish soap. Soak plants all over. Let them sit a half hour then rinse off and return to grow area in dark. Repeat this every 2 to 3 days for a week. So 3 good treatments, and your bugs will be gone. Soak everything good. Buy the mix or look up how to mix the mix. It works pretty well. This is how I treat when critters find their way in.

D36. First day of the sixth week and all of them are into flower and starting to show some purple fan. And some bad news about the war in the tent, the thrip enemy appeared flying again so next week I will have to treat them again. Watered yesterday and today 5% of the pots at 1.7 EC / 6.0 pH and girls are definitely recovered since they are thirstier than ever. Peace ☮️ D40. The tent is going wild, yesterday I applied HST to the main branch in both of the biggest plants, foliar sprayed pirethrin and neem oil with potassic soap, and watered 10% of the pot capapcity with neem oil, hygrozyme and calmag at EC 0.4.

D43. First day of seventh week, I finally took out all the blumat water lines to be able to level the canopies to better perform the next four weeks. The whole tent is full of little colas, especially the lazy seed that have the most tiny ones due to the slow growth plus that she was quite in the bottom until today but now she's finally receiving same light as her sisters 💪. Today I watered again after three days, soil tension went from 40 to over 200 before watering that probably mean from now on will be better to stick on watering every two days instead of three. Things are getting smelly and promising, this week I'll do another insecticide foliar spray and watering and hope for the best. Peace ☮️ D46. That's a lot of wild stuff going on in here and my little girls look happier than ever, all the fans around every cola turned deep purple and full of white all around and they smell so good. I just watered 10% of the pot capacity with neem oil, calmag, higrozyme and nutrients until EC 1.9 pH 6.1 so water tension came down from over 200 to over 40mbar, also foliar sprayed again with potassic soap, neem and phyretrine since some thrip are still messing around. Good news the lazy plant despite the little colas once started receiving same light as her sisters she strengthen production and color of the leaf, not so bad!

D50. First day of the eighth week and flowering keep going on, this automatic strain is expected to be ready for harvest between eight and nine weeks but I'll try to stretch em until the end of week ten since I want it for sleep better. Yesterday I watered again 10% of pot capacity with plain RO water corrected to 6 pH since most of the leaf already have dark green color and some fans are curled down. Things are getting smelly inside here 🔥 D51. Today I decided to defoliate again, this is the second time I do since fifth week, three weeks ago. This time I took out big leaf and the ones disturbing on other colas, I also took out the worst branches and the little buds on the bottom of the canopies. I expect some stunt next two or three days but may be worth if none of em turn hermie 🤞 D53. I made some pictures with my old digicam because with my smartphone I have electromagnetic interference from all the fans. D54. I watered again 10% of the pots with just plain RO water, hygrozyme and mychorrizae pH 6.1, everything look good!

D65. Second day of tenth week, I'll check on the trichomes soon... D69. Finally checked on the trichomes and they are already milky and some amber so I'll harvest anytime soon. D71. Today was the last day of this nice grow, The big day, This evening I decided to finally harvest the girls and they are already trimmed and hanging in the tent at 15°C 55% humidity. Called my attention that two of the plants were super strong sweet fruity smell and the other two were like no smell at all but once I started trimming the nice smell came back in all of them. I think this issue may be due to the very low humidity of 40% I kept this last weeks and the diferent grow rate of each plant despite 3 of the 4 seeds sprouted at the same time they didn't match at all in growth despite same genetic.
