Germination
After 3 days on the 10th, 3 out of 5 Royal Gorilla Seeds did germinate. Sadly the other 2 never came until today and i doubt they ever will, didn't knew that by then and did still hope. Not a good start into the first grow. On the 22nd the special queen #1 seed which i did germinate on the 20th did come. I didn't wanted to just have 3 plants in my tent so i decided to pop one the the free seeds which came with my order. Since this is a week later i will not post it this week, just wanted to address it since i can't add a germination phase to the next week. One of the three royal gorilla seedlings looked a little bit crippled and indeed it does grow slower then the other two. One day later on the 11th i noticed that there is a root coming out of the pellet, so i decided to just put them in their first 2l pots which i did right away. Since i want to use BioTabs i didn't knew what to do, it does say use the final pots from the beginning, but i didn't wanted to do it. I should have waited until im in my final 11l pots, but i didn't so i did some math and used a little bit of everything for my small pots and sadly it was too much of it. So the first leaves got some nasty burns and weird colors but luckily they survived it without a problem and look much better by now. (Sorry for all my bad pictures, i will try to make better ones in the future)

I did get some nasty burns, but as you can see on the last picture they look way better now. They seem to grow fine. Today on the 22th i watered them for the first time after watering them 11 days ago while putting them in the 2l pots. (500-600ml each plant) The cripple still is slower but it seems like it also recovered. On the 22th the Special Queen #1 seed did germinate and on the 23th the root did come out so i did put it in the 2l Pot, but this time without Bio Tabs, i only did use mycotrex (2g), the rest will come with the 11l pot then. I think i over watered it a little bit since the new leaves are hanging a little bit (the first leaves did hang from the beginning so i doubt that is water related with those) I also noticed today for the first time, when i open my tent it does already smell pretty tasty. Didn't thought it would happen that fast. Also i already learned a lot. Even tho i tried my best to inform myself from the beginning, i made many mistakes which i will never do again. You can prepare yourself as you want, you will still have some failures and that is fine. So im not ashamed of my little plants by now. I will make them survive and a great final result. Looking forward to the next weeks. /edit Last day of the week. There were Roots at the bottom of two pots, so i decided to plant them into the final 11l Pots, i also added biotabs (little bit less since both had some of it from the beginning. Everything went fine. The next days i will give them slowly more ppfd and next week i think i will top them and also tie them a little bit down.

Another week, new problems. Plant 1 still hangs, Plant 2 is going strong, Plant 3 is in the final pot now and it also hangs. I just watered them once but obvious way too much. i heard on some people in forums and 3L water are way too much for 11L pots. So in the future i will water them with 1L and thats it. I just hope the recover. Plant 4 (special queen #1) looks weird just as the first ones, but this time there is no biotabs stuff in the pot, so i don't know why it looks like that? This means it wasn't biotabs fault in the first pots neither but rather something else, like maybe wind burn? Other then that, oh well i f*cked the topping up on plant 1 and 2 and hope i will not regret it. Seems like more then 2 new colas will grow out of it. finest fimming :D i also removed 2-3 leaves on each plant on the bottom, since those were touching the soil. Please don't hate on me, that is my first grow and i really give my best, i just hope i don't make any more mistakes now.

plant 1 and 2 are exploding right now, they are growing so fast i love it, but i guess that is nature and not because i do anything right. that is also the reason i started to using my first scrog net now at around 25cm, so i can keep them on one level with the others and maybe get less problems later. at first i wanted to mainline them, but i don't think im ready for that in my first run and i don't want to do too many things. maybe on the next run, this time it will be topping/fimming and scrogging only. plant 3 still far behind, even tho it did germinate at the same day as the other 2, it was smaller and slower from the beginning and i guess it will stay like that. i topped plant 3 this week and this time i didn't f*cked it up, so no fimming this time. also like with the others i removed the first 2-4 leaves which did not look healthy at all. nothing else will get removed until shorty before i go to flowering. plant 4, special queen #1 ist catching up fast and will probably overtake plant 3 sooner or later. since it did look weird like the other plants after germinating, im happy that it looks better now and ne leaves come out healthy. somehow i think fimming is more my thing, so i will see if i will top or fim it next week. it's also in it's final 11L pot now with BioTabs. other then that nothing special happened this week, but i think i got my watering figured out now. not only by the weight of the pots or sticking the finger in the soil so you can check if it's too dry, but also by the look of the plant. plant 3 and 4 still don't need that much or anything at all right now, since the soil is still a little bit moist but i can tell plant 1 and 2 need much more then the week before. at one point they were starting to droop, so i watered them with each 1 - 1.2 Liters of water from the bottom (and a little bit from the top) and for now this seems to work great as it seems. after 3-4 days they need it again, so i think i got the point figured out now when to water them before they start drooping. Oh i forgot, i turned up the LEDs so they got much more power now.

So this week didn't happened much, i still wait for RG #3 and SQ1 to catch up. When it comes to height RG #3 is almost on the same level now as the other RG plants, sadly it still looks pretty small compared to the others. It not only looks different but it also smells different, like hazelnut-chocolate somehow? Kinda weird, cause the other plants smell pretty "normal". I will see how it will turn out. I also topped RG 3# for a second and third time. SQ1 is catching up now and i think it will be on the same level next week, then i let all of them grow taller. I did fim (on purpose this time) SQ1 this week too. RG #1 and #2 getting wider and wider, can't wait to let them grow up. They need much more water now which is a good sign i guess. I just hope i will get a nice screen of green in the end and no problems with different heights and so on. It will be at least another 3 weeks in Veg i think, then i will defoliate them already, can't wait for that, it's getting way out of hand with all the leaves. see you next week

Not that much happened this week, still gonna update. In the next two weeks will happen more, since i plan to go to flowering at the end of the month, at least if they grow as i expect them to. Also i will have to give them the Final BioTabs Orgatrex + Bactrex mix next week. So at the start of the week i removed the scrog net which i only had this early, so i can get the plants on mostly the same level before going to flowering, i will add it in a few weeks again, this time it will stay until the end. Plant 1 is really going strong and is 35cm tall now, that is a + of 10cm since last week. Plant 2 has 33cm. To my surprise Plant 3 which really crippled in the beginning is also 33cms now and looks pretty ok, still not as good as the other two Royal Gorilla Plants but it's fine. Plant 4 the Special Queen #1 is behind with only 20cm, but i couldn't wait any longer for it to grow and just hope she will catch up, if not in veg phase then in flowering when it will stretch. I moved them a little bit so they get light from different angles, so don't wonder about the pictures, they are not on the same position as last week. I watered my plants from the bottom until now and was kinda happy with it, but i noticed i just can't get the whole soil wet like that. So this week i did change it, as soon as the pots are very very light i will water them each with around 2,25L of water, a little bit of drainage will come out then and the pots are very heavy afterwards. like this the whole soil is moisturized and i won't get any dry spots. On top i don't have to water ever 1-2 days, but it will last a little bit longer which is better overall i guess. What concerned me a lot this week was a problem with the leaves. I did find tiny holes on a few leaves. Like on 5-6 leaves on each plant, except for the special queen #1. Always just 1, max 2 holes on each of that leaves. I went crazy and searched everything for bugs with a magnifying glass, on top, under the leaves and stems, but nothing at all. I don't even have fungus gnats or anything else, so i really doubt that bugs can be the cause. The holes on the leaves also don't look like something did bite on them. After searching the problem and going through hundreds of "this is a bug" problem posts, i finally found two posts with pictures which did look similar to my pictures and those people also made clear that it's not bugs but something else. No one could say what exactly, but in the end it was nothing bad for them and so i think it will be the same for me. It may not be perfect, but also no large problem. Maybe it was because of the scrog net, or the fimming, or something else, but im 100% sure it's not bugs or pest. Here and there are some yellowed tips but just like with the holes i will not do anything about it, they will go away from alone since it's not that much and doesn't look like a real problem. If i would use normal fertilizer and not biotabs i may would do something about it, but with biotabs i just gonna sit it out until it gets way worse, then i will do something, but i doubt that is gonna happen. Not gonna stress myself and keep calm. So yeah i think its going fine and i can't wait to cut some leaves off in 1-2 weeks, it will be such a relief to finally get rid of those bushes before going to flowering.

So this week happened a little bit more. All of them got their final BioTabs Mix. Each Plant 500ml of Water with 1g Bactrex and 20ml Orgatrex. No more fertilizer now from the BioTabs Starterset, all they get now is BioTabs Bio PK 5-8 in flowering for thicker buds. Thought it would be a good idea to buy that, will see if it makes a difference. And as you can see i did defoliate them this week also. So much more airflow, finally i can see everything and can worry less about pest and so on. I just hope i didn't do it wrong or did too much of it, it was really scary just cutting off things which grew for such a long time, but i think for the first time it turned out pretty good. In flowering week 3, when i give them PK 5-8 for the first time, i will also defoliate them once more a little bit when it gets out of hand again. Since the biggest plant is about 45cm tall now i will start flowering soon but don't know yet when exactly, maybe a few days, maybe another week, until then they also had enough time to recover from defoliating and i hope everything will work out. Would also be good to get about 5-6cm more on the other plants, so i guess i will do it around Wednesday, but i will see. As you can see the scrog net is installed again, so this time i will pull them through the net and let it in for better division until the end. Really looking forward to my first flowering phase and how they will stretch out, kinda scared too :D See you next week :)

If one of them recovered so fast (after 2 days), there shouldnt be serious problems. Hope the other one will make it through easily too. Bless 😊

Sadly i had some problems this week and didn't took much pictures, sorry for that. On Monday i wanted to start flowering but i noticed some discoloration on the bigger Plants in the back. The plants in front were just fine, nothing at all on them. So i waited with flowering. The top leaves on both plants were completely yellow with dark green veins in the middle. RG #1 in the left back not so much as RG #2 in the right back. Lower leaves were fine. On my pictures it's already much much better, sadly i didn't do any when the problem did occur, so you can't see how bad it was before. :( After some searching it seemed like its a zinc deficiency, most likely caused by a nutrition lockdown. Since i use Biotabs it can't be the Ph value, since it's getting regulated automatically. Still i checked the Ph value and it was between 6 and 7 so it should be fine. So for my understanding it had to be either overwatering or too much nutritions which got flushed out of the biotabs while watering them. I really tried to always wait until the pots are very light and almost completely dry before watering them again, like 2.5l on 11l pots, the right amount until i get a few drops water out of the pots on the bottom, every 3-4 days when they showed signs of needing water. From now on i will do the same, but with 500ml less water and no drain and hope it will be fine. If you got any tips please let me know, since im still a noob. RG #1 looked like nothing ever happened after 2 days, but RG #2 still shows signs of it until today. The darker green color is coming back, but slowly. Sadly i didn't took pictures on the first days, so i can only show how it looks right now on RG #2 and even tho you can still see it, it's far better then before with complete yellow leaves and just dark green veins. It still does not look ok, but the darker green is coming back for sure step by step. RG #1 is getting completely out of hand, even with scrogging, i will have to start flowering tomorrow or i really get height problems. So i turned all fans up now, light will go to 12/12 tomorrow and also from 75% to 100% power. See you next week in flowering and please pray for me that they won't get too high and no more problems occur, i can smell the hermies already :D Also thanks for keep pushing and helping me, i really like that site more and more. I look forward to keep this updated every week, it's really fun.

My first flowering week started. I removed some larger Leaves but not too much, just so more light will get to the right spots. Still more has to be removed in the upcoming weeks, but i will do it step by step. The plants really get sticky now and smell much more. They didn't stretch much by now, sure they grew up but not really more then the week before, guess stretch will happen next week then. RG #2 really hangs behind but i thought this would happen, in worst case i just put another pot under it so it will be on the same level, just like with Special Queen #1, but i still hope it will catch up in 1-2 weeks. Im so scared of hermies, i hope everything will go well. See you next week :)

I know it has only been two weeks of flowering so far, but i expected way more stretch. Before growing i looked it up on Seedfinder and it said around 130% stretch for Royal Gorilla, i doubt that mine will get anywhere close that. I still expect some minor stretch for next week. So in the end my Veg time could have been even longer to really fill out my tent, but oh well i guess im still doing fine for my first time. At least now i know those stretch numbers are only for plants without any training. Also i will take 15 Liter Pots next time, or even more. (if it will fit in my tent) Since the plants on the right (SQ #1 and RG #2) didn't stretched that much i lifted them both up so they are all almost on the same level now. Sadly while doing so, one branch snapped because i didn't watched out enough while lifting it up. I tried to fix it instantly with some tape, but it didn't survived so i did cut it off. I just couldn't resist and took off some leaves because it got way too much again. I want to maintain the airflow, also i lose overview otherwise and i don't want to take too much leaves at once. For now im quiet happy but im still so scared of hermies, everything is so small to see and i can't really get close to RG #1, since i can't open the side of my tent there. It will be a challenge to spot any pollen sacs. This is probably the only thing which can cause any problems now in the last 7-8 weeks. I know yield is not everything but i really hope to get close to 1g/Watt, so i get enough out of it until im finished with the next run. Today i also gave them BioTabs Bio PK 5-8 for the first time. It smells like chocolate, kinda nice. :D 10ml on 500ml Water for each Plant. Next week i will defoliate them for the last time i think, since i don't want to over do it. See you then and thanks for reading :)

Another week, new Problems. On Wednesday i noticed that on the Special Queen one spot looked very weird. Instead of forming one bud on a spot, there were coming two buds out of one spot. After asking in questions section and google the problem, i found out that this is most likely "Fasciation", a mutation most likely caused by stress or bad genetics. Some people said it's fine and that it will get even higher THC levels, but most said it will have less THC, taste weird and that there will be most likely a high mold chance. So after some consideration i took the scissors and just did cut it off. Im really not in the mood to experiment with some mutant stuff right now and i just hope the energy will now go into the other branches instead. Also i did my last defoliation on Thursday. Maybe i have done too much of it, but that is how it is now. I have a good feeling that i will get good results and right now that is all which matters for me. You can ask 10 people and all have different opinions about it, so i just do it now as i think it's right. At least now i can see everything all right, so if i get hermies, i can remove the pollen sacs right away. Before that i couldn't see anything because of all the leaves. It was such a pain in the ass and took over 5 hours to remove everything. I can't open my tent on the left side and can't remove the plants because of the scrog, so i really struggled especially to do it on RG #1, my back is killing me now. Decided to do super cropping on two Branches of RG #1, so i can lower the lamp a little bit. Im out of stuff which i could put under the Plants to increase height, so the canopy won't get better / more even then this now sadly. I hope i did it kinda right. Im still kinda sad that they didn't stretch more, but it is what it is. As you can see on my picture there is a lot of wasted space on top of my tent, like 30cm. Next Veg will be longer for sure. After last week they now got BioTabs Bio PK 5-8 again for the second time. I think the plants look alright and as long as nothing will herm now, i think im fine for the upcoming last 5-6-7 weeks. See you next week :) Wish me luck

Nothing really happened this week. Buds keep growing and i tried to maintain a mostly filled canopy, so i used some rope and cable ties on branches which are too small or too far away so i can attached them to the scrog like that. While doing so i sadly destroyed two little growing buds, but i guess no real lost. Here and there i removed some more leaves which where blocking light. RG #1 sadly has some very light leaves on the top, so i decided to give RG #1 some extra Bio PK 5-8 and 20ml Orgatrex +1g Bactrex. RG #2 also has some slight discoloration on the leaves, not as much as RG #1 tho, (on the pictures it does look worse then in real life) so i also gave 20ml Orgatrex +1g Bactrex. RG #3 and SQ #1 just got 1g Bactrex. Other then that all of them got the normal dose Bio PK like the weeks before. I just hope this wasn't too much in total, but since Veg was so long, too long and it's Organic it should be fine, at least i hope so. They certainly need some more stuff. It's really rainy here since 1-2 weeks, pretty much all day. I really give my best to keep humidity under 60% but it was hard this week, had 1-2 days with up to 65% at night. And now i know why it's called Gorilla Glue, it's sticky as hell, so much resin, even on the stems. Just a little touch and your fingers will stick like hell. I planed to do so anyway but i only use gloves from now on when touching something inside. Can't wait for it to be finished, so scared something will go wrong :) See you next week. PS the new site update really sucks :(

Last week i gave RG #1 and RG #2 way more fertilizer then i should have in hope it would get better, since i think they look hungry. Maybe the leaves got a little bit darker, but this can also be imagination. But sadly i think so far nothing has changed. Some people told me it will take up to two weeks for organic fertilizer to work, so i guess i wait another week before adding even more Orgatrex + Bactrex. Other then that Buds getting thicker and thicker, also the Pistils started to change color. All got the normale dose of Bio PK 5-8 as every week now. Here and there i removed a few leaves, but not many in total. Hope RG #1 will get better next week, i also see some minor clawing on a few leaves. Really no idea whats wrong. Some people say this, other say that and in the end nothing will help and the organic fertilizer needs way too much time to make a difference. I wish i knew what the exact problem is and someone would just tell me what exactly i have to do to fix it fast, but sadly everyone has a different opinion, guess i have to learn it on my own. See you next week :) Also im happy that the site is kinda back on track, the most annoying problems got fixed! Thanks GD Team.

Buds getting Thicker, so far no real problems i think. RG #2 has the biggest and thiccest buds until now, hope the others will follow. Colors of pistils do change, they look pretty frosty and smell a lot now. Like the last weeks i still just feed Bio PK 5-8 10ml for each Plant and did removed a few leaves which were blocking light but not much. Guess i will stop with removing more leaves now. Pretty hard to estimate what kind of yield i will get at the end, but i hope it will get as close as possible to 1g/Watt (but i doubt it :D ). Around 4 Weeks left until my first harvest. I don't think much more will happen in case of Bud thiccness, just getting more ripe. But i hope im wrong, wouldn't mind if they get a little bit more swollen. Since im Colorblind i can't say for sure, but i think RG #1 is turning kinda Purple? RG #2 has still the biggest buds and starts to fade now. There are still a lot of white pistils and Trichomes are also not ready yet, still not milky and i surely want some amber in it also. So i guess at least another 2 weeks, mostly 3. Don't want to harvest them too early, they should have the time to get ready. This week they also got again 10ml of Bio PK, next week will be the last time, then only water for 2 weeks. So see you next week then! :)

And so it happened, no idea if it's because of too much stress but i got hermies. :(((( Many people report hermies with this strain, but it can also be stress, i will never know. But for sure it wasn't any light leaks. On two little lower branches i found about 10 Seeds in total after inspecting it for hours, so my guess is somewhere there must have been a small pollen sac which opened and then pollinated that area and this most likely happened already some weeks ago, since some seeds looked already finished. I can't find anything else besides there, so maybe i got lucky and all the pollen got stuck there, because it was so crowdy. But even until now i haven't found that opened pollen sac or even more closed ones, so i guess it had to be very tiny and only one. I googled it and people said in one single pollen sac is not that much pollen, which means in the worst case 30-40 seeds, but most likely less. Just hope i won't have it everywhere and just can't see it. I will keep checking every day for hours, like i did in the last days already to see if i find more seeds or any pollen sacs / bananas and remove them all immediately but i will finish this run, it's only one week left now. Around Wednesday they will get water for the last time, i also stopped giving them Bio PK. I will give them light until the last day, since i don't think there is any science behind the 2-3 days darkness before harvest method, but they won't get any water for the last days to stress them out. Tomorrow is day 56 of flowering. So i think they will get chopped on day 63 then, maybe 2-3 days later. Im not in a hurry and want that it will hit me hard, like a full body high. See you next week with the last flowering update.

Last flowering Update today. It has been 62 Days since i flipped them and i think it's time for harvest. It was worth the wait, since i think they grew a little bit more in the last week, the buds look a little bulkier then before, especially for SQ #1. Haven't found anymore seeds the last week and watered them for the last time on wednesday. They drink way less then the weeks before. 2-3 more days, so they dry out a little bit more and then i will chop and hang them upside down for drying. Most likely on Tuesday. I think it will take around 7-10 days to dry. Will update the Diary as soon as i have put them into the jars, with weight and everything.

RG #1: 51,11 Grams RG #2: 61,82 Grams RG #3: 42,96 Grams 155,89g and 300 Watt used in total. I also had the SQ #1 in my tent, with that one it's 196,87g total and i smoked some already while it was drying like i think maybe 20g, so keep that in mind. I hope the harvest will hold up until my next run and that i can top the results with my next run by a lot, i really want to get closer to 300g total. It has been pretty much exact 4 Months from germination to putting everything into the jars. I know it has been my first grow and i did some mistakes, but still im not very happy with the results after all that invested time and effort. Not enough yield, i expected to get more out of it with 300 Watts and even if it the weed me really high, the strain has many problems in my opinion. Sadly i let it dry for too long. Everyday i checked the stems and if they will break of still bend and sadly it seems like this method isn't really useful. I should have started way earlier to cut everything down and put it into jars. So its still ok but too dry, Without Boveda Packs i get like 45-50% Humidity in the jars, the Boveda Packs raise it up slowly to like 60% but i think this will hurt the end result when it comes to taste and smell, curing will be not happening or be very slow because of my mistake. When it comes to seeds, i did found like 30 more in total, most on sq1 and rq2 but it seems like sadly all got some. Its really not much more left of them and i think it was just one pollen sac which opened somewhere. Haven't found it even after cutting all down. This was my first trim job and i did it all on my own, i did like 1 1/2 plants on one day, like 12 hours with some smoke breaks in between. It was hell. Besides the weed i also got 4 packs of trim which i will use to make some butter and some dry sift from my trim tray.
