Wobbles has started to flower, and she's no less wonky than when she was a seedling. I've decided to showcase some of her many odd quirks. The amount of leaves on each branch is completely random, sometimes it's 3 on one side and 4 on the other. 5 on one side and 7 on the other is also common. A lot of them don't even face the light, 4 will face the correct way and one of them will face the ground. That's not where the sun is dummy 🤦‍♂️ All in all it's going very well, considering my cheap under the desk setup. Hmmm in the last 2 days, the growth has slowed down. Not too sure why exactly. Maybe I overwatered in combination with over 700Ppfd, which might be a bit too much for her

Grow Questions

I have a question about fans, and more specifically how long does the fan need to be on? And is there a difference between having the fan on for 12 hours, 18 hours, or 24/7? I know I might as well leave it on 24/7, but the cheap-ass fan is kinda loud while I watch movies.

Photosynthesis. Plants breathe in co2 through the underside of it's leaves. The plant uses up the co2 around the leaf quickly and thats where the oscillating fan comes in to play. It blows away the stagnant co2 depleted air around the leaf and blows in new co2 rich air. Without this exchange the plants growth will slow considerably. The breeze also helps to strengthen stems to help down the road when they need to support the heavy flower weight by increasing the starches in the plant fibers in the stem. Another benefit to air circulation is that bugs down like windy conditions and it makes their life harder and the environment less favorable to set up shop in. Air circulation doesn't need to happen at night so there's no need to have them running during lights out. AC Infinity oscillating clip fans state in their manuals that if you run their fans 24/7 you void the warranty on the product. They need a cool down period. If you choose to run them 24/7 they will eventually start making a knocking sound and eventually the oscillating mechanism will fail and then you have a malfunctioned fan that you spent a bunch of money for but now can't claim warranty on cuz you didn't read the operation manual. So, air movement is pretty important! Hope this gave you some insight.

Oh Wise Brofessors, how do you combat the heresy of skipping leg day in the hallowed halls of iron? I'm very happy with her rate of growth don't get me wrong, but her stem is just pathetic. Looking for general tips on making stronger stems 🙏

1. Install some fans, NOT directly hitting her, but to gently move her around. She will strengthen the stem to stabilize. 2. Lights might be moved a bit closer, so that she is not stretching for more. 3. Cover the long stem by adding some more growing medium. 4. Silica, maybe, never used it since above steps always solves the issue. Whatever you do, do it slowly and gradually. Have fun! 💪

How do I approach LST when there's basically no internodal spacing? I've got no clue where to attach the line.

@Kenough, 9L should be great! Talking about dwarfs, you'd better not follow my steps, because my plants are 25cm tall being 9 weeks old 😹 I should be following you because you got more experience, it's your second grow, I'm still a first-timer 💪 I have no idea how much my Orion could yield...

Thanks mate, how's it growing? @Crashoverite actually told me how to properly water until there's a bit of runoff. Great that I could spread the knowledge😹 She looks great! What's up with the yellow leaf?👽

Did a vibe check on her yesterday and decided it was just me being an idiot and using too many nutes early on. I'll go back to plain water for a lil bit since the soil is pretty good. You have a pretty good eye spotting stuff like that right away!
