Growth I’m happy with no major issues although there is something not quite right. The growth seems on the pale side which is usual for my grows, I’m eager to find out what it is. I’m closely monitoring the first true set of leaves as I can see them losing colour as if it was hungry, but the cotyledons will be the first thing the plant consumes for any deficiency and there very much green.

Hi, my plants are showing signs of deficiency, yellowing leaves from the bottom indicate nitrogen deficiency. My tap water EC is 0.8, and I’m bringing the feed up to about 1.6. So very light. My run off was 2.2-2.4 so would this be nitrogen lockout or deficiency you think ?

It sounds like you're on top of monitoring your plant's nutrient levels. In this case, the discrepancy between your input (1.6 EC) and the runoff (2.2-2.4 EC) could indeed suggest a potential lockout. Here's what might be happening: Nutrient Lockout: The higher EC in the runoff could indicate that the plants are not taking up nutrients effectively. This could be due to a pH imbalance or issues with nutrient availability in the soil. pH Levels: Check the pH of your soil. Nutrient uptake is influenced by pH, and if it's too high or too low, it can impact the plant's ability to absorb certain nutrients. Nutrient Ratio: Ensure that the nutrient solution you're using has a balanced ratio of nitrogen, as well as other essential nutrients. Sometimes an imbalance can lead to nutrient lockout. Flush the System: If you suspect a nutrient lockout, a flush with pH-balanced water can help reset the system. This involves watering with plain water until the runoff has a lower EC. Monitor Soil Moisture: Ensure that the soil is not consistently too wet or too dry, as both extremes can affect nutrient uptake. It's a bit of detective work, but checking pH levels and adjusting your nutrient solution accordingly could be a good first step. If the issue persists, a more thorough flush might be necessary. Keep an eye on your plants, and they should start responding positively with the right adjustments!

Stop misting your plants, they don't need it. Misting your leaves only serves to open up pathways to allow pathogens to infiltrate your plant tissue, so just stop it. Plants that young aren't usually deficient in anything unless you have simply not been giving them food. Judging from your feed regiment they are getting plenty, perhaps too much. All those fancy bells and whistles the nutrient companies market are unnecessary. Grow-Bloom-Micro-Calmag-Fulvic acid. Thats all you need.

Stress from growing at 24/0, combined with feeding too many things. 18/6 is optimal, all plants NEED sleep for a correctly functioning metabolism! Highly unlikely that there any deficiencies, most likely a start of toxicity, especially if you are not getting a good run off each time you irrigate.
