For this cycle I chose genetics with exceptional terpenes, because I love strong aromas in Cannabis. As always I use the SERIOUS' Way of GERMINATING seeds (promoted by Serious Seeds) on wet paper towels in hanging plastic baggies.
The germination works perfect except for my VERY OLD Chocolope seeds from DNA-Genetics, those had been in my freezer for more than 10 years and still one seeds of 3 popped!
After 48 hours on the wet paper towel, the sees had germinated and developed a white tap-root. The seeds have been planted with the tap-root pointing down in small pots. I plant them very shallow, so the shell of the seedling still shows a little out of the ground. This way the seedlings come up IMMEDIATELY and with 24 hours you have tiny plant. Sometime the shell of the seed is still on top of the plant, if it does not afll off within a few days, I carefully pull it off the plant.
In week 4 the plants are repotted into 15 liter containers. First 2 cm of expanded clay-pebbles come into each pot for better drainage. Then I use light-mix to fill up the pot and add the BIO-TABs fertilizer tablets to the ground (2 per pot). 75 gram Startrex per container mixed into soil, 5 gram Mycotrex per container mixed into soil, 1 gram Bactrex and 5 ml Orgatrex per liter water are added as well (following the recommendations of Bio-Tabs). Each plant is potted in the center of the pot and then watered well.
I put them into my HOMEBOX grow-tent and under my SANlight EVO4-120 LEDs. The lamps are at 75 cm distance from the top of the plants and tilted inwards by 11 degree (as recommended by SANlight for this area).
One week after repotting the plants into their final 15 liter containers with light-mix and BIO-TABs the plants are ready to be SWITCHED to flowering. This means I change my timer to 12/12 hours of hours of light/darkness from my SANlight EVO4-120 LED-lamps. These high-tech grow-lamps from Austria work FANTASTIC and the plants are growing VERY HEALTHY with the BIO TABS nutrients.
The plants are developing VERY well and grow with a HEALTHY GREEN COLOR. The BIO TABS nutrients are VERY CONVENIENT, since I only have to give PURE TAP-WATER to the plants. The nutrients are already in the soil and work for the whole cycle, all the plants need is watering. Normally I would use ph-minus to get my ph-value to 6,0 , because the tap-water is too high, but with BIO-TABS nutrients I do NOT NEED TO DO THIS! They are SELF-REGULATING, which means the bacteria in the soil change the ph-value they need! I LOVE THEM!
The plants are growing like and hell and some plants more than others. I therefore have to super-crop the plants, which is a method promoted by SOMA from SOMA-Seeds. I take the stem of the plant at appr. 20 cm under the top, directly above an internode, and squeeze it hard between my fingers. So hard that I can feel the fibers brake inside the stem. I squeeze in a circle around the whole stem and then bend the stem sidewards until the whole top of the plant is bent 90 degrees to the side or even points downwards. This way I dont have to top the plants and save the big top buds. The stem will heal and the plant will continue to grow, just at a lower height. I use this method since many years and it works GREAT. The BIO-TABs nutrients still do thier job VERY WELL, all plants have a healthy green color. The SANlight EVO4-120 LED-lamps are still hung at 75 cm distance from the top of the pants and do an OUTSTANDING JOB.
The flowering now really has kicked in and the first trichomes are appearing all around the flower crowns. The plants start to exude an intoxicating sweet smell...I LOVE IT! All plants grow VERY HEALTHY thanks to the BIO-TABs nutrients. They love the intensity and spectrum of the SANlight EVO4-120 LED-lamps, which is specifically designed for cannabis plants. They are the BEST LED GROW-LIGHTS I have EVER USED!
The plants keep to continue to grow FANTASTICALLY with the BIO-TABs nutrients and fill out the tent quickly. I therefore decide it is time to defoliate the plants. I cut off all lower branches (lowest two to three internodes) and take the biggest fan-leaves off the plant. This ensures a better air circulation and better light penetration. The two SANlight EVO4-120 LED-lamps continue to be 75 cm above the plants and run on full-power (=not dimmed). The development of new buds each day is outstanding, all is going well.
During week 10 all plants start to develope sizebale colas and form more and more flowers every day. They all have a HEALTHY GREEN COLOR, which shows the BIO-Tabs nutrients still do their job VER WELL. The plants only get NORMAL tap-water every second day, appr. 2-3 liters per pot.
The SANlight EVO4-120 grow lights provide everything my ladies need to develop OUTSTANDINGLY! The plants are still growing and producing copious amounts of new buds every day. The sweet smell is now VERY strong, its a treat every time I open my HOMEBOX grow-tent.
The plants start to get ripe and produce more and more buds and extreme amounts of trichomes. Especially the SERIOSA from Serious Seeds is almost ready to harvest already, she is a QUICK FINISHER and is covered with crystals! The aroma of the tent is overwhelmingly strong now, a mixture of sweet and sour tones...its delicious! The BIO TABs nutrients still supply the plants perfectly and the SANlight EVO4-120 LED-lights give the perfect light to produce huge amounts of resin!
During week 13 all plants start to get ripe and the the fan leaves start to fade and get yellow and/or red. Its a sure sign the plants are getting closer to harvest time. The BIO-TABs nutrients are now finished, so the fade at the end of the cycle can start, perfect timing. The aroma of the plants is sweet and the smell is EXTREMELY STRONG now. All plants are covered in trichomes, especially the SERIOSA from Serious Seeds is COVERD IN CRYSTALS, it looks like a snow blanket is covering her.
During week 14 the humidity still remains high at 60% and I am worried for bud-rot. Since the top-buds on the main colas are HUGE, the risk is very high.
Sure enough I discover a brown part on a top-bud of Killer Glue and carefully pull it open. Inside i see white fuzz...BUD ROT is here. Since all plants are now almost ready to harvest anyways, I decide to harvest them right away, at Day 94 since germination, in the 9th week of flowering. The BIO-TABs nutrients have done a WONDERFUL JOB during the whole cycle, everything worked perfectly and was extremely convenient. The SANlight EVO4-120 LED-Lights from Austria did again what they are designed for, took care of compact buds and a GREAT HARVEST RESULT.
The SERIOSA is one of the quickest finishing plants I have EVER seen! She was ready to harvest after 7 weeks of flowering and produces an EXTREME AMOUNT of TRICHOMES. She is literally covered with crystals and her buds get a purple coloration at the end of flowering. She is BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS! Her sweet aroma and taste are DELICIOUS and she is a WONDERFUL daytime-smoke and perfect medicine.
The Killer Glue is a big harvester, which deliver copious amounts of huge buds, which are covered in trichomes. The taste is a mix of AK-47 and GG #4, , slightly sweet with strong fuel undertones. A DELICIOUS aroma and taste make it perfect to smoke. The strong potency makes it PERFECT PAIN MEDICINE!
Mr.SHERBET POPS has an AMAZING aroma, which is PUNGENT and very refreshing, reminding me of eucalyptus. She grows excellent and makes a HUGE top-cola with BIG side-buds. SHE HARVESTS HUGE AMOUNTS AND ALL BUDS ARE COVERED WITH TRICHOMES. She has a strong potency and is perfect against my chronic back pain.
