By removing the leaves, you reduce photosynthesis, which means that plants pump less water from the roots.
If you continue to give them the same volume of water, you can drown your plant a little.
Increase the light a little to raise the photosynthesis level and possibly raise the temperature of the room to evaporate the water more quickly. Let the soil dry out a little more than usual and adjust the amount of water in each watering according to the volume of foliage.
Next time, defoliating when the soil is a little dry will reduce the problem.
