I'm very excited as this will be my first of many, hopefully successful, grows. Plant A is a little leggy while B is a bit shorter. Both were planted in soil with no nutrients added. Avg temperature for the week was approx 85°F so I exposed them to natural sunlight during the day.
Both are showing significant growth in leaf and stem size. Deep green color with no signs of any problems. Outdoor temps at still ok to put outside for light.
Transplanted both plants into 27.5L bins. A is taller at 5.5" while B is bushier with more nodes (5:4) at 5" tall. Considering topping A next week if she doesn't fill out more.
I decided to LST both plants but only top A because there wasn't much side growth early in the week. I topped her on day 31 and she is recovering nicely. I want to compare the final yields of a topped/untopped plant. A is 13" and B is 15.5" tall. I might be forced to put them in flowering at the end of the week due to height restrictions.
Both plants appear very healthy and are growing amazing. I wanted to give one more week of vegetation but I think it might become a height issue. I've read plants can double in height during flowering...is GC known for doing that?
End of flowering week 1. Trimmed approximately 3 pairs of the lowest fan leaves on each plant. Had a few of the lowest fan leaves fall off naturally. Plant A is 22” tall, bushy and is showing multiple small bud sites and a promising looking main cola . Plant B is 20” tall, and seems to be stretching up and out. She is showing 4 nice main bud sites.
Both plants are stretching nicely and are filling out above the support net I put in place. I defoliated most of the large fan leaves throughout the week, leaving about 15% of the bottom half bare. I find it easier to work with the branches and there aren't leaves sitting on top of each other.
Both seem to be slowing down as far as stretching goes. They both are getting slightly taller every week. There were a few weak fan leaves and stems near the bottom of both plants so I defoliated a bit more. Bud sights look nice and healthy and are have a nice slight smell.
Overall good week. Had a small problem with what I believe are fungus gnats. They apperared to be feeding on the edges of some of the lower leaves. It wasn't hurting the leaves necessarily bit I didnt want it to become a bigger problem. I defoliated more at the base of the plants and dried the first 1/2 inch of soil. I now only see a few here and there. Bud sites are looking nice and are getting bigger almost daily.
