Got this as a freebie. Trying an experiment where I grow a photoperiod with a couple of autos. I plan on vegging out a little longer and flipping to flower once I cut down the autos in the same 4x4. 18/6 light cycle for the duration of the autos. Hopefully it’ll flourish with the tent all to itself.

Not much changed this week. I kept with the light feed to see if the 3rd Sour D auto would catch up but it didn’t make it. Really wanted to run 3 plants this cycle but it looks like I’ll just have the 2.

Getting some huge fan leaves! Tucking the best I can for now & started LST. Added Armor Si, Cal/mag, & Floralicious Plus to the feeding solution. ~480 PPFD. Looks like I might have some deficiencies starting…I think it’s because I delayed feeding to let the other plant catch up before I gave up on it. I didn’t ph the last feed either because my meter started being inconsistent and wouldn’t hold calibration. Hoping next feed will solve any issues.

Continuing leaf tucking and LST. Removed a few lower inner leaves. Upped the nutrients and added GH Diamond Nectar. nutrient deficiencies resolved. Changed the light cycle to 20/4 to combat lower temps.

Day 38 since starting germination: Everything is looking healthy and happy. I’ve FIMed the main and continued leaf tucking & LST. Upped the amount of Diamond nectar from 1ml/gal to 2ml/gal. Keeping the lights on 20/4 has kept the average low temp a degree higher at 66. I also changed the positioning of the lights. Now the Mars Hydro tsl2000 is providing ~500-550 ppfd across the canopy. At this point the plants in the RDWC loop have different nutrient needs so when I did my water change I also changed the orientation of my buckets. I removed the bucket with the Northern Lights photo period from the loop so it could be connected to its own reservoir and be fed a veg nutrient solution while the Sour D auto gets its bloom nutrients.

Another week of veg! Now it’s pretty easy to tell the Northern Lights from the Sour D auto. On day 44 she was defoliated and tied down more. Everything else has stayed the same! A lot of the leaves are starting to look lighter green so I may add more nitrogen to the next feed.

Still going strong. I may have underestimated the space I have, it’s starting to get a little cramped. She was looking on the lighter side so I upped the nutrient to the “medium” feed schedule. Continuing to defoliate and tie down to give the Sour D auto room.

It’s getting cramped - wish I had another tent to flip it right now. Defoliating fan leaves daily. Getting some yellow tips which I believe is light stress - I raised the lights and turned down the mars hydro tsl2000 to 25% but the Atreum hydra 3200 is still right next to it at 80%. The most interesting thing I discovered was this branch that appears to be 2 grown together! It’s oval shaped, flat, and has double the fan leaves and nodes on it. I don’t know if this is caused by genetics, topping, or some other stress; any insight? it’s pretty cool tho. I’m also attempting to make clones for the first time.

Running out of room! I take fan leaves off daily. Still feeding the same nutrients. I have another tent set up coming by the end of the week so this Northern Lights will have some space to flourish. Once I move it I plan to scrog, defoliate, and wait a week to flip the lights to 12/12 so it can get acclimated. My first attempt at making clones was a success. The tops I chose to clone got clone-x gel on the cut and were misted with a general hydroponics rapid rooter solution.

Finally got some space to herself! Moved to a 4x4 with the Atreum hydra 3200 l and scrogged. Accidentally bent a couple of the stems a little too hard. I finished off this week and the move by setting the lights to 12/12 and feeding for the first week of flower.

She is loving all the extra space and stretching well! Reacting to scrogging and the flip to flower nicely & the damaged branches are looking strong and healthy. Canopy is getting ~650 ppfd from the Atreum Hydra 3200 at 95%. Fed the early bloom solution at medium strength. A couple days after the flip the humidity was hovering around 70% so I put a beefy dehumidifier in the tent and that seems to have stabilized everything.

Having some difficulties this week. Lots of rain and an ill timed departure of my sump pump caused 5” of standing water in the basement. Luckily this tent is ~3” off the ground on a pallet so it didn’t get too messed up. Humidity got up to 80% briefly for a day but hopefully everything is under control. Not sure if it’s nutrient burn or a deficiency but I have some burn just on the leaf tips. Also having issues with water not recirculating properly and overflowing; a combination of the roots blocking and the hardware/fittings used being too small. For now I’ve just unplugged the recirculating on pump in the reservoir and blocked it up higher than the bucket in the tent - it doesn’t recirculate but it has air stones in both buckets and will gravity feed. It’s a fix for now until I can redesign the buckets. Averages for this week: 72F 62RH 1.05 VPD At the start of the week I fed GH flora 10 part week 3 (mid bloom) at medium strength, 6.4 ph, and defoliated everything below the scrog net. Still stretching like crazy and really filling up the whole tent now, it’s crazy to think it used to share this tent with another plant. Aside from the defoliation and all the little tweaks I’ve done to get the humidity out nothing has really changed. Next week I may mount the ac infinity fan outside the tent to gain some more vertical space. Any tips or advice always appreciated, thanks for stopping in.

Going strong and lookin good. Looks like there are some burnt leaf tips so I’m toning down the nutrients a bit and doing a light flush between feeds. Started the week by draining the reservoir and refilled with 5gal of tap water mixed with 30ml of flora kleen - recirculated for 2 hours before draining, running another 5gal of tap water through the system then draining and refilling the res with feeding solution Week 5 mid bloom at light strength following GH 10 part feeding chart. Still having issues with the roots blocking the recirculation - it’s going to be like this until I change the fittings in the bucket. I’ll just keep the pump off but have the reservoir elevated to maintain proper water level inside the tent. Defoliated a bit - mainly on the deformed branch..it’s so thick I’m worried it may have issues with moisture. The branches I broke when I scrogged are coming back with a vengeance! They seem to have a crazy amount of vigor. Thanks for stopping by!

Started this week by emptying the reservoir and flushing with 40ml of FloraKleen in 5gal of water for 2 hours then feeding mid bloom week 5 of GH flora series 10 part. Having issues with my water recirculating and the ph drifting up - most likely the reason behind the burnt leaf tips. I think I found a fix towards the end of the week…by turning the pump down to its lowest setting, having the reservoir lower than the grow bucket, and filling the reservoir with less water - the grow bucket won’t overflow and the reservoir retains enough water that the pump stays submerged. It requires more daily checks & topping off during the week but I’m hoping it’ll be easier to maintain proper ph in the system. Starting to fill out nicely and getting some nice colors.

Started this week by emptying the reservoir and flushing with 40ml of FloraKleen in 5gal of water for 2 hours then feeding mid bloom week 6 of GH flora series 10 part. Removed all the dying leaves. Still having issues with water recirculating and the ph drifting(a lot). The fix of turning the pump down to its lowest setting, having the reservoir lower than the grow bucket, and filling the reservoir with less water is working but I’m making adjustments 1 - 2 times a day. Filling out nicely and getting some color - starting to see them bulk and frost up! Getting super stinky - almost smells like hot old man breath 😆

Welcome to week 17 of this experiment & week 7 of flower! We’re shooting to surpass seedsupremes expected yields of 1.63oz/sqft or 21 oz per plant! How’s that for plant count rules haha The aroma is intoxicating and really testing the carbon filter. Started off the week by draining the reservoir, rinsing with GH flora kleen @ 10ml/gal for 2 hours before draining and filling with solution following week 7 of GH 10 part chart @ light strength - with the addition of GH dry kool bloom @ .2 tsp per gallon. Was able to keep the ph between 5.8 - 6.1 this week. She is drinking a ton; I’m topping off the reservoir every other day. The buds are noticeably packing on weight - might need to tie up some of the branches. I’m thinking one more week then flushing! Learning a ton this grow and I got to practice a lot of new to me techniques. The accidental HST/supercropping that occurred around week 10-11 has really shown how much vigor the plant bounces back with. My first attempt at cloning was a huge success and the cuttings off this plant are thriving.

Last week! It’s super stinky. Had to tie up some supports. Started flushing towards the end of the week with FloraKleen followed by tap water swaps daily. Turned the lights to 25% and started 48 hour light cycle on 2/18. Chopped 2/20 - added pics. What a bounty!
