Patbavaria Seeds in a glass of water for 24 hours. At the same time, prepare rock wool cubes, soak them in nutrient solution.... Place the seed in the hole of the rock wool but make sure the little tip is still sticking out. Mini greenhouse, dark, warm, humid. Observe, ventilate daily, and check. The paper towel method works just as well... but if the seedling sprouts quickly, it gets tricky with handling. I also like to leave the seed in the water for 2-3 days until it opens, then I place it with the opening down in the rock wool, open at the top. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos at the kickoff. At that time, I wasn't thinking about a detailed grow report.

Patbavaria First grow report - First week at Growdiaries. For the spontaneous entry into DWC without hydro equipment, I'm more than satisfied. For many years before, I was conventionally growing in soil... now a new space, new system... setup still needs to be fine-tuned. Water and light have been a bit neglected so far... but I think it looks good for now. I need to quickly address pH, EC, nutrients, and water... coming in week 4...

Patbavaria Water setup is on track Lowered to pH 6.0, PPM 600, Temp. 23 degrees. Adjusted lighting height (lowered closer) Room ventilation activated Climate set to basic settings Day 24 Night 19 First DWC Hydro Grow is off to a good start, I would say. In the meantime, measuring equipment etc. set up. Next, I'll increase the nutrients and stress a bit again.

Patbavaria Made a good push. 3 out of 4 are going all in and want to thrive... The latecomer seedling is just being pulled along with almost a week behind and has to deal with it now. Changed lighting to full LED PH value at about 5.8 PPM around 900 Now the flowering fertilizer comes into play and PPM slowly goes up... PH still needs to drop to 5.5 and then into flowering, I would say. With 65-70, the three are doing well, I would say. The area is slowly filling up. Still looks good. (I'll ignore the slight signs on the leaves for now, the girls get stressed from time to time and there's still a lot of room for fine-tuning in the setup, but for the first DWC run, it's awesome 😁)

Patbavaria The light and space setup is in place and running solidly now. I'm really struggling to keep up with the defoliation... I'm continuously cutting out big leaves, but it just doesn't get any less. I want to get light to the future buds. PH lower limit reached. PPM is still relaxed... but I want to ramp it up now. Otherwise, it's consistently solid... very large autos, I think, compared to before, but also in soil 😉. I believe the DWC system is doing its part and is really rocking it!

Patbavaria Incredible what kind of bushes are developing here. To everyone who has had rather meager experiences with autoflowering, small, puny, no yield... switch to DWC. It's insane... a difference from soil or regular hydro like day and night. I expected to notice a significant difference, but not that the plants would literally explode. As you can see, my four autos have developed into state-sized bushes. I'm even running out of vertical space (which has never been a problem before). Since this is my first hydro DWC run and I'm clearly lacking experience here, it's safe to assume that the next one will be even crazier once I get the hang of it. But for now, let's first successfully finish this one. The all-important finale is coming up now and will surely give me a decent harvest right on time for New Year's. Feel free to make your guess now. Write me in the comments "What do you think? How much yield (dry) will my four autos finally produce?" 4x auto with DWC and LED on nearly 1.5 m2 of space. Over 500g dry? Currently, I've spontaneously decided to set up a net to support the fat buds at the end. It wasn't actually planned and is almost a bit late for that, but with a lot of effort, it turned out quite well. As you can see, the ladies are still a bit sulky and affected from the net setup, stretching, bending, pressing, defoliating... but I think in 1-2 days they will thank me and poke their little heads through the net. Nutrient solution with 5.6 pH is quite stable. Little correction required. Just topping up with fresh 5.5 pH is enough to keep it stable. In the meantime, I've increased the nutrient supply and am now at about 2500 PPM. Here, it's important to observe how the plants react. (Feel free to share your opinion in the comments, go higher? Lower? Or hold steady?) Due to the size of the plants, I even had to build a tank nozzle as a filling aid since you can hardly reach the lid of the nutrient tank anymore 🤣. What I've noticed from the beginning is the battle with humidity. Due to the high water volume in the DWC system and the large bushy plants, my ventilation has to run non-stop at full speed to keep the humidity somewhat low. A proper ventilation system with a heat exchanger will definitely be needed in the future! The extremely cold outside temperatures are making it worse with condensation. Not easy, but manageable. The planned harvest will be pretty much right on New Year's. It's going to be an exciting Christmas holiday and hopefully a solid start to 2024 with a handful of weed 😋😋 If our political clowns like Karl Lauterbach really go through with legalization and actually allow 3x homegrown plants, my recommendation is clear: "Buy yourself a DWC and an LED and you'll grow more than ever" and legally, more than you can smoke yourself. On the contrary, with three continuous plants (autos), you'll even supply your friends with... I'm getting back to work—the night is my friend.

Patbavaria The ladies had to suffer in the last two weeks. The roots have worked their way through the entire water system, clogging return lines, which led to under-supply/poor circulation-oxygen supply and partly flooding. The system is not necessarily maintenance-friendly. A complete exchange/cleaning during the auto cycle is only difficult due to the lack of shut-off devices. Nevertheless, I drained the system, cleaned it, and the plants have already been massively "pre-harvested" - small unnecessary shoots have been cut off and are drying. Now the plants can soak up some fresh water for a few more days and "leak" before the harvesting begins soon/some already.

Patbavaria I harvested the first plant, number 1. It had a lot/the most potential, got to start under a 600W sodium light, and was therefore the biggest... unfortunately, in the last two weeks, it couldn't fully realize its potential. Its roots disturbed the nutrient circulation in the tank. It could have been much thicker - better and more. But now I'm richer in experience and excited for the others....

Patbavaria The last week is upon us. To manage the work of the harvest in an orderly manner, it will be spread out over the next 2 weeks and tackled piece by piece. No. 1 has been nearly harvested. During the week, it will be processed and moved to a separate room for drying/curing. Additionally, we will start harvesting No. 2 during the week, followed by No. 3. No. 4 will be harvested last, in about 1-2 weeks. Photos of the respective harvest and trichomes will follow.

Happy Harvest Day!
