BeefWellingtons Welcome to my 2nd run at white widow auto! I'm really excited about this one. I'm making less mistakes so far and it's getting easier. I really love this strain so I wanted to make more. Anyhow, put some bottled water onto a folded up napkin and stuck 2 seeds in there. I think it took 2 days until the first pic here that you can really see the tap root. Used sterilized tweezers to move her into rockwool cube. I had previously soaked rockwool in bottled water for over 24 hours, maybe 48. Anyhow, I had to keep adding water to the paper towel in between the two saucers as they kept drying up. Once the seed was in rockwool, the pics show you what happened. One thing I forgot to mention was that once she sprouted she keeps swaying toward the led (which is totally on the side of her), so I have to keep flipping her 180 degrees so she won't grow all crooked, lol. I plan to move her into a cup of happy frog and stick her under my led in a few days or so. Thanks for reading my new diary! ;)
Update: just put her into a cup with happy frog potting soil, gave water, stuck her under the 65w bulb at 6in above top.

BeefWellingtons I over watered her when I put her into the soil, but she bounced back pretty fast. I want to thank @Stick for his recommendation on only watering 15-20% of container volume. That seems to be the sweet spot! Still no nutrients yet but that will probably come this next week. I already have her 3 gallon smart pot ready to go with some happy frog. All waterings will be documented in comments in this grow diary.
Also, I did wet her down with neem oil spray and she took it just fine. Just a light mist and wet down the top of the soil. I also added some yellow sticky trap nearby. I will not let flying bugs ruin this grow.
Thanks for checking out this diary, this is my first real soil grow where I will have to add nutrients, so I will try extra hard not to cook her or underfeed her.

BeefWellingtons Well she got moved under the led and she seems to love it. I watered her last night so I'm going to transplant her tomorrow into 3 gallon smart pot. I've been giving her nothing but bottled water. She love the happy frog. Will fim her in a few days.
Update: transplanted her into her 3galllon smart pot. Gave her the first feeding of nutrients. Followed the directions on the box for technoflora. Probably gave a little too much water but with a fan and fabric pot she will dry out a little faster. Still can't fim as not enough on top to remove. I might have to skip the fim, not sure yet.

BeefWellingtons She just got her second water feed the other day, so nutrients above have not been updated yet, I will do that as soon as I feed her again. She is just as tall as my other plant now and I'm guessing she's going to get a bit bigger. She hasn't shown any issues, she is really happy I think. I think she is gonna love the next feeding as she will get a blast of nutrients. Thanks for checking out my diary.

BeefWellingtons Well this week was a big one, she grew up over 1ft. She's about 3ft taller, maybe taller. I am going yo have to raise the light a little to accommodate her. She's really happy with these nutrients and the watering schedule I have her on. Thank you again @stick for giving me the perfect formula for watering. I was so worried that I would under or over feed her but so far that hasn't happened at all. I literally have had 0 issues with her, not even a tiny yellow leaf or anything. Now the pressure is on to make sure she gets what she needs. Thanks for checking out my diary! ;)

BeefWellingtons So this week went ok. I figured out my ph pen was off so I'm using tester drops now instead.She looked a little droopy yesterday but she got some water and has perked up a bit. I think I'm going to start doing less water but more often as she's only getting feed every 4 or 5 days, which means the nutes will only be applied every 2 weeks which I think is not enough. I will apply nutrients next feeding in 3 days or so. Also, I think I will need to bend her so she's against the wall, as she is only 6 inches from lamp. Thanks for checking out my grow!

BeefWellingtons Well this week kinda flew by. Added nutrients posted in diary. I just gave her .8 gallons of ph water. She looks a little droopy cause soil was pretty dry. Other than excess of N, I think she's pretty happy. I'm worried that she is so tall, I will have to get a stick to help her with the weight. I rotated her 45 degrees to keep light all over. So far so good. No signs of flying pests in a few week so I think we are over that. I just need to get a good bamboo stick and I think everything will be ok. Thanks for viewing my diary!

Ok so I have this big fan leaf showing issues. The last 2 pictures of this week are of this leaf. The leaf is about halfway up the plant and no other leaves are showing same issue. To me it looks like N deficiency, but I have N excessive on the top of plant with dark clawing tips

Sorry but no, it is not N deficiency. If you look closely you will notice that it is interveinal yellowing (the veins are dark green and in between them the leaf is yellowing) and that's a classic magnesium deficiency. That can have 2 reason: the first and most obvious is magnesium deficiency because of lack of magnesium (not likely since you are feeding cal / mag) or due magnesium lockout due either P or K toxicity (both when given in excess lockout many seconday elements, magnesium among them). Looking at the feeding strength of your current (and past) weeks I can tell that you are feeding really strongly for soil; that your leaves are dark green, have some burnt tips and clawing (leaves tips are facing down) also shows nitrogen toxicity. Also the top leaves have really thin blades, that's another sign of either p or K toxicity. for future reference I would try not to go over 1.4 to 1.7 EC in flower adn feed no more than once every 5 to 7 days. For now stop feeding altogether and let the plant consume the excess nutrients present in the soil and its own stores, do not feed gain, you are too close to harvest (1 or 2 weeks I would say).

BeefWellingtons Fed her just ph'd water today. I should have fed her yesterday but I got sidetracked. She was really in a sad state this morning but seems to have recovered. Tested the runoff and was getting about 6.2ph, with 1167 tds. Week went ok, however some of the other big fan leaves are starting to discolor similar to my issue last week. I expect 2-3 more weeks for this girl so I hope these fan leaves pull thru. I want to chop off the lower limbs but I don't want to stress her out, so for now I'm leaving them. Advice is welcome on that? I think this next week is going to seriously fatten up with flower production. This plant has had minimal interaction in the way of defoliation. BeefWellingtons Hello Growdiaries!! This week went pretty well. Thanks to fellow growers suggestions I stopped adding nutrients and have only done water feed the last 12 days or so. She seems to be responding very well. A few days ago I removed some twigs off bottom of plant and she seems to have recovered without much delay. She has been drinking more which is normal. Her colas are really putting on some weight now. The side colas are starting to fatten up now as well, which is really nice to see.
I am still debating whether to feed her nutrients one more time as I am pretty sure she is 2 weeks+ before harvest. The reason I say this is not a whole lot of sugar on sugar leaves yet for a white widow. Also, the side colas only have about 25% orange pistils. The big fan leaves are discolored but not yellow yet. I am glad I tied her up to the light as she's pretty top-heavy now.

BeefWellingtons Hello fellow growers. This week went by and it was not real eventful. I did hang a side bulb above a cola as a test to see if I could fatten up a smaller cola with a side lamp, 35w cfl. You can see it in the last photo. I added CNS17-Ripe about halfway through the week and I really see a difference, particularly on the top cola, the pistils got fatter, much fatter. Now of course it could just be regular development, but I like to believe some of these nutrients work as advertised.
So the side colas have put on a lot of sugar on the sugar leaves. The amber pistils are about 50/50 so we are getting close. I have not inspected the tricomes under my scope yet as I have to remove material from the plant to do so and I hate doing that to her. She is being babied, it will hurt a little when I have to pull her down, after she has done such a great job for me. I suspect the harvest will be next weekend, I guess I know what my friends are getting for xmas, lol.

It was very easy to grow. I wished I had fimed it. Also wish I had it closer to the light early on as she got so stretchy and tall. Very little on defoliation needed. She smells wonderful! Will give smoke report later.
Update: she's deliciously yummy. Some was super smooth and fragrant. I had a small bit of the dryer nug and I really enjoy this strain. It is my second favorite behind the sour stomper. Very easy to grow. I will grow this again in the future.

BeefWellingtons Well this was my second harvest with this strain. I have to say it's easy to grow, and very strong. I was surprised at how big she got after my last couple of grows. I really like it!
I will attempt some fim on my next grow, I would like more large colas than just the huge one. She was a good plant. I have to remember to add cal-mag supplement on week 3 next run. Unfortunately I have to move next month and have to cancel my next run as I don't want to move plants.
You can really see the 'White' part of this White Widow in the video at the end!
I want to thank you fellow growers for all your help. I really appreciate it!! You guys and gals are my support network. Thank you for being here for me.
I will give smoke report and update flavors and dry weight once these buds are done drying. Popcorn bowl was not included in wet weight.

I think I'm still about 10 days out so I added some Botanicare Ripe which suggests feeding to the end, but I'm just adding it this one time...I keep forgetting to add it to my grow. Also, it dropped the ph down really bad, had to pull out ph up for the first time.

2 days ago I added a couple of hanging cfl bulbs to help fatten up the lower, side colas. I don't know if it will help much, but I know more light is better for the lower hanging fruit.
