Germination
12/27: soaked pellets in warm water and put them under sf2000 in my 3x3x7 tent I use for drying and starting seeds to warm up before planting the seeds- about 2hrs. Light @ 50% dimmer and 30” from top of tray. Tray lid is on. Humidifier in tent set to 60%RH to keep ambient humidity elevated and slow any drying of pellets during germination. Light on 24-0 cycle. Ambient temperature in tent is 74F. Ambient temperature and humidity in tray is 72F and 90%RH. 1/1: All ten seeds have successfully germinated. Sterilized roots organic potting soil with boiling water on 12/31 (6 pots) and 1/1 (4 pots) before planting to make sure any pests are dead. 1/3: Planted all 10 seeds in 3gal fabric pots with sterilized roots organic potting soil. Placed pellet near center of pot and cut sides of netting that encases each peat plug. Labeled the fabric pots so I don’t get the strains mixed up during routine maintenance. Moved everything into my larger 8x4x7 tent that has one 4000W spider farmer led, one 2000W spider farmer led, and one spider farmer 1000W led, one 4” active intake with 200CFM inline fan mounted on a carbon filter and a 6” active exhaust with a 500CFM inline fan and carbon filter. i am using only the 4000W with dimmer at 60% and 2000W with dinner at 80% for now and both lights are hung around 28”. Humidity in tent is set at 70% RH and temperature is hovering at 74F. Exhaust cycle is set 3min every 3hrs. Tomorrow I will add a citric acid+baking soda reactive CO2 to hopefully get things moving along and encourage rapid growth during veg.

1/4: setup reactive CO2. Gave each plant about 0.2gal (750mL) of water pH6.5. I don’t have a CO2 meter to monitor CO levels or a regulator to measure flow. Instead I just use a bubble counter and throttle the CO2 to an aggressive rate since the tent is large and the delivery method provides relatively low total output of CO2. Tent is set to exhaust 3min every 3hrs. Humidity set to 70%RH and tent is hovering around 74-75F in the day. Lights around 30in, dimmers at 60% on 4000W and 80% on the 2000W, and set to a 20/4 cycle. 1/7: Gave each plant about 0.24gal (900mL) of water pH6.4. Tent is set to exhaust 3min every 90min (hour and a half). Humidity set to 70%RH and tent is hovering around 74-75F in the day and 70F at night. Lights around 30in, dimmers at 60% on 4000W and 80% on the 2000W, and set to a 20/4 cycle.

1/12: Gave each plant about 0.23gal (750 mL) of solution. Tent is set to exhaust now based on humidity. Tent is hovering around 74-75F so humidity is set to 65% +2/-8, which keeps the VPD in the ideal range and reduces the frequency of exhaust fan cycle allowing CO2 levels to build up as much as possible. Lights around 30in, dimmers at 70% on the 4000W and 80% on the 2000W, and set to a 20/4 cycle. 1/14: gave each plant about 0.23gal (750mL) of water pH 6.4. 1/16: gave each plant about 0.23gal (750mL) of solution.

1/18: Gave each plant about 0.23gal (750 mL) of water pH 6.4. 1/21: gave each plant about 0.3gal (1.2 L) of solution. Completed LST Training on 8/10 plants using some wooden dowel rods pushed into the soil and gardening ties to support/manipulate the plant. Based on my previous experience with the strain, there is at least one strawberry nuggets phenotype that is very difficult to LST, and it looks like I got two of those phenos in this run. 1/23: gave each plant about 0.3gal (1.2L) of water pH 6.3

1/26: gave each plant about 0.3gal (1.2L) of solution. 1/28: gave each plant about 0.3gal of water pH 6.3. continued LST so that each plant takes shape as they enter flower. Also trained the two strawberry nuggets now that they’re a little bigger. Some plants are now showing pistols, so just entering the flowering stage. I’ll switch the solution to a flowering mix for the next feed, which should be next Tuesday or Wednesday.

1/30: earliest signs of flower are visible. Switched nutrient blend to Week 1 Master flower mix. Gave each plant about 0.3gal (1.2L) of solution. Continued LST and leaf tucking. Lowered lights to 26”, set dimmers to 80% on the SF4000 and SF2000, and turned on the SF1000. 2/1: gave each plant about 0.3gal (1.2L) of water pH 6.3. 2/3: gave each plant about 0.3gal (1.2L) of solution. 2/4: gave each plant about 0.3gal (1.2L) of water pH 6.1.

Still alternating feed and water but upped volume to about 0.5gal/day now. They’re very thirsty.

Continuing to alternate feed and water. Light pruning and training to maintain a nice canopy and plant structure. Light nutrient burn was visible on a few plants, so I reduced the base nutes to 7.5mL/gal.

Still alternating between feed and water with each plant taking roughly a 0.5gal per day. Lowered humidity to stay in ideal VPD range for early/mid flower. I’ll gradually start increasing the VPD (lowering humidity) over the next few weeks as they transition to mid/late flower stage.

Cruising through week 5 and into week 6. Dropping humidity slowly to raise VPD. Hovering around 1.3kPa right now. The fade is setting in on a few plants. Continuing with light defoliation, as needed. Alternating between feed and water, and each plant is still taking roughly a half gallon every day. In the groove now just trying to keep things clean and avoid catastrophe- the finish line is close- perhaps 4 weeks until harvest.

3/6: Stopped CO2. Flush for most plants should begin this week, but a few plants are slightly behind so they will stay in the alternating schedule of feed and water. I’ll do a trichome check this week. I don’t think they’re quite ready yet but they will be soon. 3/7: Day 64 from sprout. I want to flush for 7-10 days before harvest, but I’d be okay with going slightly longer. Flush will likely be starting sometime this week for most plants and I’ll stick with just water for today. I’ll do trichome check tomorrow with my scope. Once I scope trichomes I’ll make a decision on when to start adding Flawless Finish based on number of clear vs cloudy vs Amber trichomes, which could be as early as tomorrow or perhaps up to another week. I typically shoot for ~5% Amber. If they need 10 days or perhaps slightly longer, I’ll go water only for the first couple days to keep available nutes in soil. I will continue to reduce humidity and raise VPD during flush period. RH at 53 right now. 3/8: trichome check suggests I still have a ways to go, perhaps another 2-3 weeks when including the flush. Gonna continue to feed all plants through this week and next.

3/12: Began flush for 7/10 plants. Gonna go for 7-10 days on the flush and alternate between flawless finish and just water. I don’t over water during the flush, I just water as needed. I pH solution and water to make sure it is around 6.1. I will take these 7 down sometime late next week. I will start prepping and cleaning my drying tent to make sure it is clean, sanitized and ready to go once I chop these plants. For the remaining 3 plants (2 strawberry nuggets and 1 3 Bears OG) they still have a ways to go, and one strawberry is a bit behind the other two. For these three I am alternating between feed and water using the late flower mix.

I throttled down the exhaust fan a little bit using a speed controller to try and avoid large swings in the RH.
