Used a mix of potting soil mixed with 25% worm castings, 4 tbps of 4-4-4 and 3 tbps of 2-8-4 per gallon. Planted four seeds directly into 5 gallon fabric pots on 11/23/2023. Watered with 1oz of 6.5 PH'd water. #1 and #4 sprouted on 11/26/2023. #3 sprouted on 11/27/2023. Watered with 0.5oz of 6.2 PH'd water on 11/27/2023. Current conditions of the tent throughout germ are 73F and 82% RH.
My first grow and it is definitely a learning process. So, let's get into it. #1 & #4 sprouted and are doing great, watering with 6-7 PH'd water when dry. #2 never sprouted so after 5 days I carefully pushed the soil back and did not see any signs of life. I dropped another seed in the same day. As of 12/04/2023 about another 5 days after the new seed was dropped I pushed back the soil and saw that it tried to sprout but a tap root never developed. I will be trying the paper towel method to prevent this from happening again on future grows. #3 sprouted and looked to be doing good at first, came home from work and it was not looking great. I supported it and watered, let it sit for 24 hours but it never came back to life. I think I did not water it enough and it dried up while I was at work. I dropped another seed in the same day. As of 12/04/2023 the new seed in #3 looks like it is starting to push through the soil. Average conditions of the tent are currently: 74.4F , 82% RH , and 0.51kPa VPD. My plan is to continue the grow with three plants, #1, #3, #4. In the next day or two I will be dropping the RH from 82% to 70%-75% and monitoring the temp keeping it around 70F - 78F.
Started the week by dropping the RH from 80% to 70%. Also, introduced a fan on low setting blowing on the plants to start strengthening the stems. All three plants are growing daily and look super heathy this week. Towards the end of this week #3 started to fall over due to the the stem not being able to support the leaves. I believe this is due to the stretch so I supported her on 12/11/2023 and will watch her for a few days to make sure this issue gets resolved. Overall, just watering the plants when dry and watching them grow daily. Plan going forward is to start LST on #1 and #4 this week (12/14/2023 or 12/15/2023).
Started off the week by doing LST on the two larger plants (#1 & #4). Both plants responded well and have a ton of new undergrowth. Was running into some issues with watering and after some research I realized that I was watering to much at one time. I am going to water less and more frequent waiting until the pots feel light. This week I also moved the humidifier into the grow tent to better stabilize the temp and RH. This seemed to balance out the issues I was having with that. Some early flower signs are starting to show on #1 and #4 with a few pistol hairs showing on #3. Plan going forward is to increase the light to 250W, start LST on #3, and amend both the bigger plants with the worm castings, 2-8-4 and 4-4-4 from Gaia Green today (12-20-2023). All is going well with some very minor issues being this is my first grow.
