Seads planted directly in soil took about 7-10 days to germinate and sprout. Planted in small container containing 100% Happy Frog soil. Keeping temp at 72 degrees and 70% humidity until it hits veg stage.
I had the lights at the suggested level from the company we got it for seedlings and it started to burn them. We have a 750W LED light and it was set to 40%. We turned it down to 30% for the first few weeks.
Increased the lights to 50% here. This made the temp in the tent higher. As you can see we have moved to a larger pot. This soil in the new pot is 33% our organic mix and 66% Happy Frog. Still no nutrients needed because of what is in the soil mix.
As you can see they are still growing. No nutrients added yet. We let the soil dry out and leave it dry for a full day before re watering. We do not want any root rot. The plants will tell you what they need.
They continue to grow. Some of the lower leaves are yellowing. We removed these shortly after this. Soon they will go into the one Gallon pots with 66% soil mixture and 33% Happy Frog.
Forgot to take pictures for a few weeks. They are still going strong and in their final pots. We did our first 10 gallons of fertilizer tea today and topped them. We used Boogie Brew tea to feed.
Tea is brewed in a large can with and air pump and air stones to keep it airyated. We brewed for 23 hours and added additional nutrients for the last hour.
For the last hour of brew time we added
40 Grams Sea 90
2 Cups Black Fly Larva castings
40 Grams Pure Protein (Water soluble fish Hydrosylate)
2 tsp. water soluble amino acid powder
1/4 Cup Boogie Brix
After feeding last week and topping these guys exploded. Almost 10 inches in one week for the biggest one. We decided to do a second topping because of the Hight and how well they are doing. I think We might have to push into flower next week. Our feed schedule is every other watering, We feed our tea and the next is just water and back to tea again.
Oh I also forgot to mention. Last week we did start CO2 supplementing as well.
Interestingly enough, I have not tested for nutrients or tested PH once with this organic method. I was told that this method is "Stoner proof" because of how easy it is. With the nutrients used the plants have a much higher tolerance for PH variance and I have to say I believe it. They are doing GREAT!!
Got our netting up this week. We are starting flower the end of this week and will be doing our trimming/thinning as well. Next week the girls will look a little thinner.
We are also going to be dropping the humidity in the room a bit as well during flower. My target is going to be around 50-55%.
We heard banana peel water helps with dense bud (Its the potassium) so we will also be feeding brewed banana water with each watering as well for the next 8 weeks at least. Has anyone tried this? What were your thoughts?
Good morning all and HAPPY GROWING!!! So, we did a lot this week. First, we started Flower with a 12/12 light schedule, we trimmed out plants to increase airflow, we increased our CO2 to 1400/PPM with a +-100/PPM variance on the regulator, And we started using the Banana peal brew to increase bud density.
Now my grow room has been running a little hotter than I would like during the day, but from what I am reading it is well within range when supplementing with CO2. Anyone have more experience with this for me?
Our girls are still growing very strong!!
I noticed I have never put my fertilizer tea recipe in here for you guys, so I added it above. It wanted measurements that were not how I use for most of them. I brew 10 Gallons for 4 plants in my 15-gallon pots. If there is any leftover we just use it on the house plants, but they take most of it. Below is the recipe I use.
Fertilizer tea:
The water used needs to stay moving and be dechlorinated. So, I use an air pump for a fish tank and Air stones. I run the pump in the water for one hour at least before adding the tea mix do dechlorinate. Then I add in a burlap bag (Hanging into the water like a tea bag) the boogie base and boogie boost. Let that brew for 24 hours. At 23 hours I add the boogie black and the remaining ingredients in another bag. Let that brew for another 1-2 hours before its ready.
This recipe is FULL of bio activity that is primo for organic soil. It will get quite foamy!
10 Gallons of water:
Boogie Base: 2 Cups
Boogie Boost: 2 Cups
Second stage:
Boogie Black: 2 Cups
Sea 90: 45 Grams
Pure Protein: 45 Grams
Amino Acid Powder: 2 tsp
Boogie Brix: 1/4 Cup
Banana Tea: 10 Cups
Good day all!!! The ladies are doing great still and really starting to come into their buds. We are on week two of flower. I have one giant in the back that can't be slowed down. We are a little worried about it getting to close to the lights and burning while still letting the others get enough. I am hoping to weave it around a little in the in the top net to control height.
Color on the ladies is looking fantastic, and I am thinking of adding some flower finisher for the next few weeks of waterings. I have ready it really helps with flavors. Anyone have experience with this? I don't know if this is pushing the feedings to far though. They have looked fantastic this whole time. BUT.... We want the best flavors, and we want these ladies to be so frosted theyre dripping.
