We are back. I put them to germination on Monday 4th of December. I decided to open diary
immediately when most of seeds have germinated. One Slurricane is still sleeping, I'll add it
when she awakens, which should not take long. Learning from the last, buried, project, I shortened
soaking period to just few hours or so. I think I drowned few seeds last time by keeping them under
water for 24 hours....
After soaking, I put them to soaked paper towel of which I put into a tiny spice
jar, and a little bit of water on the bottom. After that, peat pellet, which goes into
a rockwool cube. Technically, all germination methods combined, in this process.
Now I got strains I want, instead just stuffing leftovers when seeds didn't germinated.
And no Sativas! 😎
I'm having troubles to get those Slurricanes to grow. They germinate fine,
but nothing happens after that. Those seeds I put them last week, one of
them turned into white mush. Taproot was fine when I put them to peat,
but later on, nothing happens. There isn't any clear signs of why this is
happening.
One of them showed its tail, but progress stopped there. Just barely,
though. This is kinda frustrating, especially when others are growing
just fine...
Did some research about the situation and now I'm trying to do more
shallow burying. There's just a teeny bit of soil on them, I also kept them
in germination longer, so the taproot is longer. Time will tell, if they start
growing. I plugged both seeds I originally germinated, and fired up two
more seeds.
If these won't start growing, I'm gonna have to resort to different seeds,
again. Zombie Brides started immediately, and they've been growing ever
since. They also had a lot bigger seeds in general, than Slurricanes.
Bottom right rockwool cube is currently empty. I got Humboldt's
Mountaintop Mints and one Fullgas! from Green House Seeds in
my reserves. Or at least, what I'm willing to grow in this batch. Also
some Zombie Brides, but there isn't enough variation if I'd do just one
strain grow.
I didn't managed to germinate those Slurricanes, except for one,
those are clearly troublesome and stubborn seeds, because other strains
just pop like they should, with great vigor.
Germinated last FullGas! for last one, and for future height compensation,
due it being 60/40 Sativa/Indica. Defoliated Zombie Brides yesterday, I'll
start topping them once nodes gets more distinct.
Moving them to tent,
once that smallest one has established herself properly. Had to remove
tough seed shell from around her, that's why there's minor damage on
the edges of those sprout leaves. Could be worse...!
Happy holidays!
I moved them to the tent. Upon installing, the stem of Fullgas broke
almost completely. It's slow, but still hasn't withered away, so there's
hope.
Also did pretty heavy defoliation and topping to the Zombie Brides,
to match their size with Slurricane, which was pretty successful. They
were really maxing out under FL, transfer happened couple of days
ago. Also bought some vibration insulation mat under the pool.
I really hope that Fullgas makes it through, it's kinda late to start
germinating anything new to this. I put a little bit of root gel to the
broken stem. There's a tiny hair of root in the bottom of the stem,
but that is because it was covered by that mylar, until I put a zip
tie support for it, but it has grown out of it and now stands on its
own.
That old Fullgas is officially dead, I made a tape splint for her,
but guess it was too late. Anyways, I went and bought new 5 pack
of them, and those seeds were very quick to sprout. One day in a
paper towel and she was ready for deployment.
I haven't done much for the plants in the tent, I guess I'll top them
at some point, for more nodes, and bit of height control, since smallest
isn't even there yet. I'm happy that I was able to get even one Slurricane
to this project, and she seems happy where she is.
I usually put the plants in cross-placement, but since there's been two
incidents where roots tear and that stunts growth, I put those Brides
side by side. Regardless, they're already trying to get into water reservoir. 😅
I have a new solution to that, but haven't deployed it yet, because it isn't
finished yet.
Just big damn biomass!
I've been bit busy (smoking weed), so it's been a while. Since the last update,
I moved that one last into the tent, and it's been happy there. I'm a bit worried
though, whether this last one will get overtaken by bigger plants. I topped it too,
yesterday, since it's sativa.
Should start defoliating them already, but I got this idea of minimal invasion,
maximal nature. It's on autopilot, idk. I'm gonna let them reach at least one meter
height, before thinking about flipping these, because last time, they didn't even
stretched that much. Get to use all of the space too. Light is on 50% now.

Another, almost two weeks done. I'm trying to reset update day to Friday,
as it has usually been. Removed all bottoms and other undeveloped branches
two, three days ago. Also bought another bag of CO2, original bag is nearing
its life but still seems to produce carbon dioxide, so I'm keeping it in the tent.
I should start preparing for flipping them, also, that curse of one fucked up
plant keeps haunting me. I'm not sure if it was light burn or something this
time, I even put biggest plants to rear slots, so root development would not
be so aggressive near intake and output.
Developed improved solution for
those waterways. Also, that Slurricane didn't went crazy when I took those
water filters away for installation (along with big ball of roots, which were
grown into it), which was odd.
Gladly, bottom left is smallest, so this time there isn't that much roots
growing around those filters. Planning on drilling couple of safety holes
to the upper pools as a extra safety measure, in case those filters gets
clogged.
Light on 50% power.

Raised light height for next week, let's see if that
sickly plant changes one way or another. This imbalance
came handy too, all these mystical problems are disproven
with these different stages of growth. Others are fine, but
this one is problematic. On top of that, they're same breed
on same row. I didn't expected it to be the one on far row.
We'll see if growing it further fixes it, I'm gonna let these
grow pretty massive this time, since growth spurt was
quite unimpressive last time.

The situation with that tallest Zombie Bride is
kinda grim. As per instructed by a community,
I raised height of the light, and they seem to be
getting a bit better.
Though at this point, I'm just
gonna count that one as a loss, and moving on focus
to still healthy plants. I thought it was a root issue,
but apparently it wasn't. Live and learn.. This height
difference is another problematic factor with this run.
I flipped these on Wednesday, 13.03.2024, doing my
special 13 hour one month lighting schedule, also I'm
kiinda running out of room, hopefully it will be enough...
I'm just gonna move CO2 bags to other place after this
update, on second thought. They're on top of the light,
currently.

They are recovering! Damn sticks reaching to the sun,
I know that they're in a bit overloaded, but I took photos
like 5 min before lights went off. In the morning they were
in perfect cheering position, that upward v shape.
I'm trying to keep the height conservative, so they don't creep
up too much. Lower plants are in the perfect spot. That sativa is
catching up big time as well, I have a hope again with these!

We're making some progress here, looks like a jungle!
Raising the lights made a difference, and even that badly
damaged Zombie Bride has recovered. Running out of
vertical space, but it kinda was the purpose of this run.
Gladly they've stopped stretching, mostly. Gonna have
to get another net, so those tall stickies don't get burned
if they touch the light. One of them took a bit of damage
already, tilted it to different angle.
Lights are still on 50%, I decided to keep it so, and do it
along the guidelines, after 4 weeks, changing power to 75%,
then two weeks, then 100% till harvest.

They're budding up nicely, though gotta keep
close eye on those Zombie Brides, since they're
so close to the light.
Put another net for more
support and manipulation. I'm gonna start bending
them away from the light if they start getting light
burns.
Power is on 75%, as advised somewhere, for
the next couple of weeks. Then full throttle, until
harvest. Cut more undeveloped bud sites away
today, and removed wilted and yellowing leaves
from the bottom.

I changed waters, they were getting really murky,
and EC was getting out of control, without really
adding anything new into the pool.
Light is on 100% power now. Height variation is
little bit problematic, but that cannot be fixed in
this run. Light is almost cramped to the top, so
raising it is not gonna happen.
Smell is so strong that open tent photographs
are not an option, that's why there's a bit poor
view to the back plants. Flowering goes deeper
than those stick things in the photos. 😎

You're in for the treat today, my little garden monstrosity,
is in full bloom!
We got some macro shots so show off as well, along with a
big bunch of photographs...
Slurricane is heavily defoliated, to make room for further bloom,
as it was quite bushy from the start.
Left Zombie Bride got same treatment today as well.
Next Wednesday marks full 9 weeks, we'll see if we're
gonna push this further with a couple of days.
I'm also gonna try 3 days of darkness before harvest,
and 1.5-2 days of flush, to push THC even further.
Maybe some cold water treatment as well...
Exciting times!

It was a quite job, to process all these. Took two weeks to get through all of these, couple hour sessions.
These were hardest, due leafy structure. Left them for last.
