First week of growing my Honey Bs, nothing much to report. Germinated the seeds using the paper towel and plate method, all germinated no problem. Sprouted a few days after planting, and the pics below show it after a weeks growth. Amazed at how fast they are coming on under the 18/6 schedule. going to leave them on that light schedule for the foreseeable future.
As yet no nutrients as I'm growing in a soil that has nutrients built in, which should keep it good for a good 4 weeks, however I'll break out the nutes when required. My tap water is currently saying a Ph of 6, which saves me changing it, however I have a sneaking suspicion that my Ph monitor needs calibrated, so will do that asap.
Happy with the start, never grew fems before, so this is a new venture for me. Hoping for smooth sailing 👌
Not a bad harvest in the end, i didn't take any pictures unfortunately due to losing my phone. It's died up nice, the trim made super potent butter. Don't be expecting massive nugs, it's seems to like growing and abundance of small to medium sized ones. Nice stone, relaxed soothing, made me a but talkative. Totally different in a bake than it is in a smoke.
The pic of the dried bud is a great example of how they grew, long and thin.
But hey, some folk like long and thin :)
Great week, first of all this girl is growing like crazy, guess that's why it's called weed, literally can't move my lights away from her fast enough, grew easy 5" in a week. Huge leaves hanging off it drinking all the light, stem is so thick already, I think she could be a big girl, probably too big for my set up.
Growing in soil, so still no need for nutrients, watering her plenty, sucking it up rapidly.
Problems: nitrogen, leaves curling and clawing a bit, should sort itself out with time. Also, due to her rapid growth she got burnt a bit, but nothing serious.
Great week of growing.
Another good week, all going well, slight clawing on some.of the leaves, I'm guessing it's from the nutrient rich soil I'm growing in. I trimmed a good few fan leaves off simple because they were shading my other plant's.
My dilemma is now that due to the furious rate at which this plant is growing, and looking at the space I have available, I think I'm going to have to put them into flower earlier than planned, I'm thinking that they will perhaps double from their current size, which would have them pressed against the roof of my grow tent. Was thinking on veging for at least 6 weeks. But looks like it will be 4 and a half.
All going well, a few leaves have brown tips, not entirely sure what's going on, but will consult the bible. I have started giving them a small amount of nutrients, just to counter the falling nutrient levels in my soil, so perhaps I've been hasty and they are getting a bit much.
With this grow I've decided to just let it grow natural, no trimming and topping etc, however, i have tried a few branches out just so they are getting a bit of light through the canopy.
Switched to 12/12 yesterday, so this is the last veg post. I switched simply due to space worries, they are growing, well, like a weed. I think I've maybe timed it well, so hopefully they don't grow taller than i can support in my tent.
Onto the flowering now.
Flying along, height is bothering me, with weeks of flower yet she's almost at the height my lights can go, which is going to cause me a real ballache. I knew it was going to be a tall girl, but the speed of which she has exploded has caught me.
Apart from my height worries, everything else is good, pulled off a few wilted leaves from nerat he pot that had been starved of light, no real nute worries, only space.
First week of flowering over.
Great week (actually over a week if I'm being honest, no issues whatsoever, buds starting to appear here and there, and importantly, it's rapid growth has slowed since i put it onto 12/12.
The only manipulation to this plant was a few branches tied down to help it grow, no topping etc, was just curious how it would grow when basically left to its own devices.
Hopefully another good week will follow.
All going well, seems to be progressing nicely, buds all starting to gain some substance, has a lovely sweet smell also, almost mellow citrus like, very pleasing.
Still having clawing issues with the topmost few fan leaves, strange that it's reserved to just the top couple. Not sure what's going on, but that aside the plant seems in good vigour.
There really a few sad looking leaves on the pictures, I gave it a trim down after the pics, wanted to post an honest representation of my grow, not a beatification of it, so decided to take pics then trim.
She's getting huge now, thankfully still fitting beneath my lights.
@HighTV, cheers for the comment, I wasn't sure, it seems to be reserved to the top few leaves, and up until i took these pics they were slightly above the lights, which I've now remedied, and the light is now well and truly above the plant. So I'll give her a few days and see what's happening.
