Beginning of week: Amended the soil with Earth Dust Boost (bloom formula) and also gave a tea with Boost, Worm Castings, myco+ and some sea kelp. Honestly not sure how to do teas lol. I kinda just wing it 🤷 1.5 scoops of boost, 1.5 scoops of worm castings, half a scoop of Myco+ and 5 drops of concentrated sea kelp. And after the tea is brewed, I add what's in the teabag into the medium as well. End if week: She's doing great. Noticing some stretching from branches that I have topped earlier on. The middle was getting pretty stretchy too and I kinda want the center to be a little lower than the edges and corners. When it comes to the footprint of the light, the center is always going to be higher than the outer edges and especially the corners. If the edges and corners are higher, then I'll be able to increase the light intensity for the center while getting higher PAR toward the edges and corners. Not going to be perfect all the way across but at least closer to the 700 - 950 range across the canopy as a whole. Going to install a second row of trellis soon. I kinda want to see how much she stretches toward the beginning to get a better idea of where I should place it. If she grows anything like she did the last time, she might not fit in this tent 😂🤣 see my ethos cookies and mandarin cookies comparison from an earlier diary for reference.

I'm trying to use Diatomaceous Earth to rid fungus gnats. It's working to an extent but there is still quite a few. I've been watering in the AM and applying DE by noon. Then leaving it till water next AM. How long till they are gone?

Hey there, Dealing with fungus gnats can be a real nuisance, but using Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is a good step towards controlling them. It's great to hear that it's working to some extent, but it's not uncommon for it to take some time to completely eliminate the problem. Your approach of watering in the morning and applying DE by noon is a good strategy. DE works by dehydrating and ultimately killing the insects that come into contact with it, so it needs time to take effect. Typically, it may take a couple of weeks to see a significant reduction in the fungus gnat population, especially if they're already established in your grow space. Keep up with your current routine of watering and applying DE, and be patient. Over time, you should notice fewer and fewer fungus gnats as the population diminishes. In addition to DE, consider other methods to tackle the issue, such as improving drainage in your soil, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings, and using sticky traps to catch adult fungus gnats. With consistent effort and patience, you should be able to get the fungus gnat problem under control. Hang in there, and keep up the good work! Happy growing! 🌱

@fogskum, this is my second time with this strain. She is quite a stretcher. I've heard of people getting hermies due to Ethos not backcrossing this version. This one seems fine tho. 🤷
