I like to let the seed float in a glass of distilled water untill the seed cracks open. Keeping the cup on top of the LED driver for heat. Typically, in 24 hours, the seed is usually cracked open. Once I see it has cracked open, I plant it into medium. Usually 1 - 2 days from there, the head will be up. This is my second time with organics. I'm reusing the soil I made from the last grow. It has been re-ammended with Earth Dust Base (4 tbs per gallon of soil) and earthworm castings (about 25% of medium). Mixed with perlite and unbuffered but rinsed coco coir. Very cheap coco. First run went well so I'd imagine it should be good this time around.

Beginning of week: Not much to say. I kept killing the seeds as they were germinating cuz I can't seem to be patient and wait a full day or 2. Otherwise, this diary would have been posted a week earlier. Finally got one to pop up without killing it. I've got the 5 gallon pot of soil cooking below the plant. It's been cooking for I think about 2 weeks but this soil is also reused from my last run. Not sure how much that matters at this point because this is my 2nd run in organics. Going to fill this entire 2x4 tent with 1 plant canopy using mainline/manifold technique along with at least 1 row of trellis netting. We shall see how it goes. Mid week: Nothing much to report on. Just watering when the medium is a bit dry. I have noticed a little root poking out of the bottom of the small pot, good sign.

Beginning of week: She is doing good. She is starting to have some roots poking out of the bottom of the pot. They look thick and fuzzy. The Mycorrhizae is doing it's job! Mid week: Noticed some fungus gnats hanging around the soil. Put some diatomaceous earth on the top if the soil. I will reapply in a week or 2. DE is also good for adding silica to the medium. Lots of roots already poking out. I think I will water with some Myco+ next watering. I have a feeling this plant will be a stretcher since she's already trying to poke out some branches and they are growing pretty quickly. Next week, I will probably top and begin the manifold/mainline training.

Beginning of week: To be honest my phone messed up and I couldn't upload anything for a few weeks. I do have the pics tho. Gonna try and get them synced up the best I can. Same goals. Fill the entire 2x4 with one plant and only use organic dry amendments (this is only my second organic run)

I believe at this point, I had re-ammended the soil and fed a compost tea. Still catching up. PH issues due to watering with unpH'd tap water (8.0 pH at 360 PPM) so that may have been what threw her off. I never flushed, just kept watering as normal with rainwater (7.0 pH at 15 - 20 PPM) only pH'ing when I make compost teas (6.5 pH - 800 PPM)

I went ahead and added the trellis net. Going to feed the branches through to make a nice even canopy and attempt to fill the entire tent with this plant. May need a second row of trellis. Defoliated and the pH issue seems to be slowing down.

Just feeding the branches through the trellis still. PH issue seems to almost be gone at this point. Still just rainwater (not pH'd) with a tea every 2 weeks (6.5 pH 900 PPM)

PH issue seems to be gone finally. I think I'm going to go ahead and flip to flower after this week. She isn't stretched all the way to the walls but she is a HUGE stretcher and once I work that second row of trellis in, she will be wall to wall. Also going to amend the soil with Earth Dust's Boost formula (bloom)

Beginning of week: Amended the soil with Earth Dust Boost (bloom formula) and also gave a tea with Boost, Worm Castings, myco+ and some sea kelp. Honestly not sure how to do teas lol. I kinda just wing it 🤷 1.5 scoops of boost, 1.5 scoops of worm castings, half a scoop of Myco+ and 5 drops of concentrated sea kelp. And after the tea is brewed, I add what's in the teabag into the medium as well. End if week: She's doing great. Noticing some stretching from branches that I have topped earlier on. The middle was getting pretty stretchy too and I kinda want the center to be a little lower than the edges and corners. When it comes to the footprint of the light, the center is always going to be higher than the outer edges and especially the corners. If the edges and corners are higher, then I'll be able to increase the light intensity for the center while getting higher PAR toward the edges and corners. Not going to be perfect all the way across but at least closer to the 700 - 950 range across the canopy as a whole. Going to install a second row of trellis soon. I kinda want to see how much she stretches toward the beginning to get a better idea of where I should place it. If she grows anything like she did the last time, she might not fit in this tent 😂🤣 see my ethos cookies and mandarin cookies comparison from an earlier diary for reference.

Beginning of week: Went ahead and gave her a much needed haircut. She was getting pretty wild. She is stretching so much already. She seems to have transitioned into flower pretty quick (she was quite mature for 9 - 10 weeks old in veg. I heard of people getting hermies with this strain due to not being backcrossed but so far I'm not seeing anything to be worried about. I will be keeping a close eye on this, though. I set the second row of trellis about a foot above the first one and she is reaching for i will finish setting the canopy daily once she makes it up there. Very happy with this grow, so far. I know the light looks pretty close but the light is only at 50% power. She is getting 860 - 600 PPFD all around. Once she finishes stretching, I will be maxing out at 950 PPFD. This light doesn't have fine tuning. Just 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. I plan on splicing a 0-10V dimmer from an old grow light. Optic said it can be done but it will take wire splicing. I wonder if I can open the driver and rewire it from inside so no splices are visible. That would be ideal but either way, I'm going to do it.

I'm trying to use Diatomaceous Earth to rid fungus gnats. It's working to an extent but there is still quite a few. I've been watering in the AM and applying DE by noon. Then leaving it till water next AM. How long till they are gone?

Hey there, Dealing with fungus gnats can be a real nuisance, but using Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is a good step towards controlling them. It's great to hear that it's working to some extent, but it's not uncommon for it to take some time to completely eliminate the problem. Your approach of watering in the morning and applying DE by noon is a good strategy. DE works by dehydrating and ultimately killing the insects that come into contact with it, so it needs time to take effect. Typically, it may take a couple of weeks to see a significant reduction in the fungus gnat population, especially if they're already established in your grow space. Keep up with your current routine of watering and applying DE, and be patient. Over time, you should notice fewer and fewer fungus gnats as the population diminishes. In addition to DE, consider other methods to tackle the issue, such as improving drainage in your soil, allowing the top layer of soil to dry out between waterings, and using sticky traps to catch adult fungus gnats. With consistent effort and patience, you should be able to get the fungus gnat problem under control. Hang in there, and keep up the good work! Happy growing! 🌱

Beginning of week: She seems to be doing quite well. Gave her a tea this morning. However, I am battling fungus gnats. Quite the infestation too. I have been watering in the AM and by noon, I sprinkle some Diatomaceous Earth over the medium and leave it till next AM. They just kinda exploded out of nowhere. As of right now, the floor of the tent looks like a battlefield. I even sprinkled a little on the floor of the tent. They dont seem as bad as they were about 3 or 4 days ago tho. I'm really hoping this does the trick. If not, I will more than likely have to order some nematodes. But the plant is growing perfectly. Not too much stretch, so far. Still expecting more. Mid week: I have been battling fungus gnats. I decided to apply some Diatomaceous Earth and only water from the bottom for a couple days. I also sprinkled a bunch on the floor of the tent. Checking the tent this morning, I didn't see 1 single fungus gnat that was moving. I think it worked. I am still going to apply some DE for another week or so, just to be sure. She is happy tho. Not stretching as I imagined, but that is perfectly fine with me. I'm happy with the way things are going with her. I will amend the soil one last time in about a week and half, maybe 3 more teas until harvest (every 14 days)

Beginning of week: She's looking ok. Seems like she's getting a calcium deficiency. I'm going to topdress tomorrow and feed a tea. I think a bigger pot should have been used for such a large plant. But she should make it to harvest, no problem. Seems like the fungus gnats have stopped. I'm still applying Diatomaceous Earth. Just want to be sure. The smell is amazing. Smells like candy. Mid week: Went ahead and raised the light and increased power to 75% getting about 950 PPFD in the center and still getting over 750 PPFD on the outer edges. Wish she would've stretched a bit more. This must be a pheno with less stretch that Ethos mentioned. Still happy with this girl. She smells JUST LIKE CANDY

Beginning of week: Not much to report on. I think the calcium deficiency is finally slowing due to the plant not needing much of it this far into flower. Looks like crap but she should still finish ok. I gave a tea this morning. End of week: Potassium deficiency just exploded. She is not too happy. I went ahead and gave her some Armor Si due to it having Potassium Silicate this morning and currently brewing a tea for tomorrow morning. My guess is that I'm using such a small pot. But it could also be from watering issues (possibly underwatering) which would also be an issue with the size of the pot. Seems like the Fungus Gnats are trying to make a comeback. Ugh. I just hope I can finish this run with a decent harvest. Should be pretty good by the looks of it so far.

Beginning of week: She is not happy. I gave her some Armor Si yesterday and today a pretty potent tea. I pH'd it to about 6.2 because I believe the medium is a little high right now according to my little meter you see in the pics. I normally just use it for monitoring the moisture in the soil but noticed the pH kind of drifting higher so I figured a lower pH would help. Leaves are crispy and curing upward after turning crispy. Definitely not light burn cuz it has been set to about 950 PPFD and kinda just popped up out of nowhere. End of week: She's still truckin' along. She looks like shit but I think she will do ok till harvest. I'm going to give her some Armor Si tomorrow and make some tea for the next day. Also, fungus gnats are mostly dead. Looks like another battle field on the bottom of the tent. Diatomaceous Earth works great, you just have to reapply if you water the last batch of DE. For a couple days, I will only water from the bottom to let the top get really dry and leave the DE on top of the soil. They should all be dead after a couple of days of bottom feeding. But so far, it seems to be working. Just wish I didn't have to deal with them at all. Trichomes are still mostly clear but definitely getting some cloudy in there. The calyxes themselves still need to swell, also.

Mid week: She's still going along. I'll say it again, she looks like crap. But I've been giving her teas and Armor Si which has some K in it. Not at the same time. I'll do the Armor Si first, then the next day the tea. And just water the rest of the week. I can probably stop giving teas but I think I'll give one more next week. But she is getting close to harvest. She isn't swelling much but definitely starting to see a lot more milky trichomes along with some amber. I like to wait till the bottom nugs are looking mostly milky. They still have a lot of clear tho. But getting close, nonetheless. Still very terpy

Beginning of week: I did not give any Armor Si. Only a tea this morning. This will be the last weekly tea I give her till harvest. I'm just glad the smell is still there. She seems like she is beginning to swell up too. So good news there. I believe the fungus gnats are all dead. With my luck, they will be back in a week or so. I'm going to keep applying Diatomaceous Earth to the soil. I'd like to try and reuse it again. I'll probably flush the shit out of it and start over. Mid week: She is looking pretty close. Not sure if I had mentioned this, but ai pollinated one branch earlier into flower. Feminized pollen from Fastberry Auto by FastBuds. I picked off one seed. Looks a little deformed. It seems like it could be mature enough but hard to tell. The may very well be the last week. I will double check on the trichomes when Monday comes back around. Very excited to give thus strain another try. She was very delicious last time. This time she smells a bit more like lemony pine. Still smell the candy too. Can't wait!

This strain is kind of finicky. I remember this now from the last time I grew it. People say it hermies at times but both times I didn't have any issues with hermies. Just deficiencies. But she smells like a skunk eating a bowl of lucky charms. She didn't stretch like she did last time. And I'm sure yield was affected by the deficiencies. This was only my second run with organics and I could've used a bigger pot. A 7 gallon may have worked better.

She is drying. Doing my best to keep it at 60F/60% RH. Definitely fluctuates but not too much. Just finished drying. Took about 10 days. Still needs cure time. Have not trimmed yet.

@fogskum, just an update.. this is the 2nd time I've grown it and no signs of hermie. I've just heard of others getting hermies with this strain. I'm pretty happy with it. This one smells like candy 🤤 she didnt stretch like I had hoped. I stressed her out a lot, as you can tell. Still no hermie tho. Hope this helps
