Day 8 added 1Tbs/pot of dolomite lime. Second set of leaves are growing.
pH of tap water was 9.5 which was used to rehydrate the coco and watered twice the last week with water pH to 6.
Day 15: watered 1 gallon of water with nutrients listed for all 3 plants
The 3bearsOG seems to be doing fine with perfect green leaves but the other 2 northern light strains are having some light yellowing/white spots on the leaves and seem to be growing at a slower rate than the 3bearsOG
Ordered some gypsum and going to top dress later so the calcium:magnesium ratio is higher for calcium. I’m hoping these supplements will help the other two plants catch up.
Day 18: decided to top the 5g/NL to see how one auto tolerates topping. Also gypsum came and top dressed with 2Tbs/gal lightly watered in.
Ended up updating a little late and saw massive growth.
Day 24 top dressed the plants with 50/50 ratio of 444/394 at 2Tbs/gal
Watered with epsom salt 1Tbs/gal and superthrive.
The water’s pH was low but the soil is a bit alkaline so I’m trying to lower it that way.
Started LST on all plants and tucked the bigger leaves with the newer growth on top and increased the light strength from 20 to 30 DLI
Day 29: Watered plants with superthrive and epsom salt
Re-adjusted the LST on all plants and did a light defoliation on the 3bearsOG. Removed only 3 large fan leaves to increase airflow and light penetration to new growth.
Early signs of flowering are here and next week should be in flower and the stretch. Increased light strength to 40 DLI
Plan is to remove the humidifier next week and increase the fan exhaust.
Day 32: watered with epsom/superthrive readjusted LST
Day 36: defoliated all plants and set the last LST (no more adjusting). Watered and increased the light brightness to 45 DLI
A slight smell is accumulating and flower sites are producing bud. The 5gallon NL is a little behind than the other two and the 3OG is crazy tall compared to the other NLs
Installed carbon filter and increased air outflow and tent fans to max speed.
I plan to top dress for the last time next week and then let them finish on their own :)
Day 39: watered with molasses and superthrive
Day 43: top dressed with
dolomite lime 0.5TBS/gal
Gypsum 1Tbs/gal
444 30% 2T/gal
394 70% 2T/gal
And watered without molasses: superthrive/epsomsalt
Day 47: watered with epsom salt/superthrive/molasses
Day 50: watered with ^^^
Removed all LST
Noticed some yellow/brown tips so decided to increase the distance from light to flower
Humidity has been a little tough keeping down and plan to do a final top dress next week at half dosage to finish them off.
Day 54: watered with E/S/M and final top dress of 394 1T/gal
Days 56-62: watered with E/S
Day 64: watered with E/S/M
Wasn’t able to get molasses in during that week but decided to give it the last molasses dose on day 64.
Both 5gallons are progressing nicely with 3OG showing 1-2 amber trichomes.
3gal buds are forming buds on the sides and appears to be behind on bud production.
Final stage is near and I plan to monitor trichomes and after a couple watering I plan to flush a week before harvest just to make sure the late top-dress won’t affect chlorophyll levels at harvest time. Only pH water until they’re done :)
The humidity has been so high and the small dehumidifier wasn’t strong enough. A bigger one should arrive in time for a good drying process.
I have done nothing but water them when dry which is about every other day.
The two 5 gallon pots are finishing around the same time and I gave them their last water Day 70. I’m going to let them dry out the next couple of days before putting into a 3 day dark cycle.
I really want to chop but always hear “wait one more week when you think it’s done.”
The trichomes are mostly cloudy and I am already starting to see a few amber ones but they only seem to appear on the fan leaves and not the actual flower itself.
I wanted to try to see if watering with ICE cold water for its last watering to improve trichomes production. (A type of environment stress)
The 3 gallon has showed me that I probably won’t use them anymore after this grow. The size compared to the 5 gallon pots are just not reasonable enough. Online says smaller pots should finish faster but my case was different.
The 3 gallon pot proved to grow and go into flower quicker than the 5 gallon pots. However it has been taking a longer time in flower BUT the but bud size comparison to the 5 gallon pots are 1.5-2x the size… so maybe a smaller yield but bigger buds is the trade off but doesn’t seem worth it to me.
Last update before the chop/trim/dry
