Third time but first with a dedicated cabinet grower
Just germinated the seeds the old fashion way.
This week I will finish the grow set-up. Will post photos afterwards.
Day1 of G and the girls showed their tap roots already.
Since I have returned from vacation home was not warm enough (or I felt like that) so I have poured a little hot water to help them grow. Then they stopped growing roots. After I feared that I have screwed the first batch and germinated one more batch of each. Now they both have grown tap roots so I will plant four of them. I hope the light would be enough for all.
D6 (D4 for the seconb batch) of G and one of the girls grewed first leaves so I have immediately potted them.
D1 one of each strain showed up. Second batch RJA growed first real leaves. 1st batch SC seem to follow.
I had to leave home for two days and when I get back I have seen that I have failed second batch of Speedy Chile. Somehow automatic light switch failed and the girls was in the dark. Therefore, the girls streched. I am working on to fix the light.
This week was unfortunate I have lost 2nd batch of RJA. Not sure the reason why but the stem was broken somehow. So there was left first batch of SC and second batch of RJA. I have germinated one batch of each directly into soil after keeping them between tissues for less than a day. Moisture levels was low so I have purchased a small humidifer in order to increase the humidity a bit.
D7 Second set of true leaves emerged.
Growing conditions was not best this week. I had assumed the water pH was in the 6-7 range but according to my measurements it was 7,87 which was very high. I had been watering the seedlings a couple of times a day which might have been the reason for the death of RJA2. Also the humidity was in the low twenties.
I was able to increase the humidity in the range 30-50 manually. D2 of W2 brought third set of true leaves on each RJA and SC. Third batch of each have sprouted and become young seedlings.
I have adjusted the pH level of the water I give. I have just started watering every 2-3 days with a water pH of 6,3. I expect them to grow better in the coming days. I am planning on LST next week.
I have realized part of the second true leaves of RJA1 is missing. I hope it's not something serious.
D1 first batch received first nutes todey. In order to prevent nute burning I have added half the amount recommended by the producer. Unfortunately I have lost RJA of 3rd batch. I will continue with three plants from now on. I have started LST.
More LST on day two.
I have continued LST. Stems got really thick and new colas emerged. Will stop here for this week. I feel like those two grows slow.
Third batch grows fine.
Been sick a couple of days so I was not able to do more than vital.
Although still in veg started this week with full range of nutes by mistake. I have added half the required from each to RJA and the exact amount for SC. I hope I won't burn them. SC3 got her plain water today. Will start LST with her later. I want her to grow a bit more than previous ones.
Lowered the lights to above 30cm above plants. Hoping this to do good not bad. 1st day so far and no sign of light stress.
D26 plain watered. Will implement further LST tomorrow maybe.
D27 LST gone terribly wrong. One fan leave from SC and complete top from other SC. Fingers crossed.
D31 nute time. RJA growed pistils. Maybe one more week an then flowering. Each one of them grows slow. Can't figure out the reason why. LST, low moisture or high temperatures are the possible reasons.
D32 growth seemed to took pace. Three of the girls got acceleration.
D33 more LST. Things got significantly fast.
D35 more LST. Humidity started to elevate upto 70%. I don't have a dehumidifier. I need to figure out by other means.
D37 girls got their nutez. Spotted more yellow tip of new leaves so I have increased the nute concentration. Thanks for the folks from 420magazine for the heads up. RJA started flowering so she got the full set of nutez.
D39 RJA top leaves were droppy and she is in flowering stage so I have fed her with plain water. SC girls will wait a day or more.
D42 for both RJA1 and SC1. This is the second week of flowering for RJA1. I have defoliated all and started 12/12 for all of them.
D47 for both RJA1 and SC1. Flowering D9 of RJA and D4 of SC3. RJA got crazy and stretched upto 40cms. I had to elevate SC1 and SC3 to be as close as RJA.
D49 of RJA and SC1. Nuted girls today. SC1 showed her pistils. Now it's time to stretch.
D51 of RJA and SC1. Defoliated bottom tiny branches of both. RJA carries on filling bud sites. I took the girls into sun today again.
D55 of RJA and SC1. Defolation more. There were several partial yellow leaves on some bottom branch. So I have removed the tight dripping pan which was covering the bottom part of the pot.
Girls got bushier. My plan was to grow two plants for this setup so I have defoliated SC3 for the final time at day 50.
D58 for both RJA and SC1. Doubled the amount of BioBloom for both. Started adding more water. Removed the dripping pans of RJA and SC3 now the were only able to suck 2,5 liters of water before run-off. SC1 on the other hand which is in a 7 liter pot was able to suck 1,5 lt of water before run-off. I think I was not able to grow a large root system for each.
D61 of RJA and SC1. Pistils of RJA have started going amber. Maybe 10% now. It feels like it will take two or three more weeks to harvest.
RJA got final nutez on D74 . Bud sites are not dense as brick yet. But I think I will chop her this week.
D76: RJA flushing started. SC1 and SC3 got nutez.
Although I have gone LST and heavy defoliation even during flowering she was strong. Once she has shown partly yellow bottom leaves but she stopped after I changed the dripping pan and let her bottom 5 cm to breathe.
I haven't invested in a ultra magnigifier so I have followed the pistils. I wanted the high to be fresh so I have chopped her when 80-90% of the pistils turned amber.
