Strain Choice: For this very first run of 2024 i'm going to continue my growing journey with spanish breeders and my choice fell on sweet seeds and their red hot cookies. Of course the flowers look beautiful but i always wanted to try some tangie variant. I feel like the fruity taste would be a perfect pair along the sour diesel notes of Sour Ripper for the upcoming summer. Whats better to look forward to than toking some red hot cookies and go skating in these hot summer evenings? I hope it will be as good as i imagine it to be. 💚

Top-quality genetic as a result of crossing a clone of an American “Super Strong” Cookie strain – Tropicanna Cookies – with a clone selected from a second American strain – the potent, mandarin-scented Tangie (Girl Scout Cookies x Tangie).
We chose exotic lineages with red flower phenotypes when crossing these two varieties. The red flowers develop in around 60% of the offspring and tend to appear in the last few weeks of flowering, beginning with the lower branches and flowers before spreading to the top of the plant.
Red Hot Cookies (SWS83) is a “Super Strong”, highly productive and resinous strain with high THC levels of up to 25%. It has an excellent scent and taste; it is sweet, deep and dense, with marked tones of mandarin and mango, plus hints of fruits of the forest.

I decided to try to rank my grows and their outcomes. So i can have a list of the strains i can consider of growing some again in the future. So this is just for personal tracking. I'm curious where "Red hot cookies" will sit after this grow.
Day 0 - 21.01.2024: Since my lovely wife surprised me with a little bit bigger tent, we got a bit more room to work with! ♥️ So i aim to grow two strains this run! Yippie! I soaked the seeds in water over night and put them directly in the soil today. We popped four seeds and hope for two (or three) to take for the ride. For the starter pots we go for 90% BioBizz Lightmix and 10% BioBizz Worm Humus. Since it is still pretty cold, we got them a seedling heating mat to have their roots warm and cozy. Also i sprinkled some Great White - premium mycorrhizae into the pots. So lets hope these beans will develop into some healthy seedlings! Fingers crossed!
Day 1: The first signs of life! Two of the beans seem to have popped and are climbing their way towards the sun. They are speedy! Lets hope they'll be separating nicely from their shell. 2/4 so far! happy times! 🌱🌞💚
Day 3: Three little babies are already born and extracted themselves from the shell successfully! Well done little lads! The fourth one is visible, but still has to get her head up. So far so good. Environment is allright with 18 - 23° and humidity between 65 and 80%. Lights are on 18:6 on 20% power.
Day 5: I had to let go of seed nr 4. It was still not fully up, so i tossed it. I'll go with these three. The babies look allright. Environment is pretty much on point and i think well continue like that. They just get misted with ph'd water 3-4 times a day. Besides that i just do nothing at all.

Day 7: So most of the ladies survived the frist week of life. One did not manage to get up in time, so she had to go. So we got ourselves three beautiful little seedlings here and do what we can do to make it as easy as possible for them. So we try to keep humidity between 65 and 75% and temps between 22 and 26. I didn't water or feed them anything yet. Just misting them with pure ph'd water every couple of hours.
During this first seedling week, we'll give them a few small sips of water, some root juice and bacteria to promote root growth. But generally speaking less is more. If all goes well, it may be already transplanting time to give them more space. But we'll see how they do. So far i'm very happy how they do and i hope it goes on like that.
Day 9: The little cookies are chugging along and getting a bit bigger every day. They are working on their second set of leaves and seem to be pretty happy. Still no watering besides light misting with the god old spraybottle. I got the fan going, to give them some proper stem training. And thats all i got to do at the moment. 😊
Day 11: The cookie gang is pushing forward and making mileage. Everything seems fine. I think its time to prepare their new pots, so they can settle in their new sunbeds in a few days. I started feeding them sips of water. Next week we'll transfer to regular wet/dry periods i guess.
I'm not sure how i want to approach the vegphase and plant training this run. Many of the other rhc-farmers do a very short veg, because this strain seem to be getting tall. I still don't have a lot of height in my growroom. Hmmm... Not a fan of a scrog, especially in the new tent. So i'll just go for topping and lst to take away some height.

Day 14: Welcome to the third week of this red hot cookies run! I have repotted them today to their final 12l/3gal homes. The soil is 80% BioBizz Allmix and 20% Worm Humus. The lower third of the soil got some additional perlite for better drainage.
For this week, i aim to let them settle in and feel at home. So we don't change settings and will be still aiming for that 65 to 75% RH, temps around 25° and some airflow. I'll up the light intensity to 40% in some days, when they had some time to adjust.
I don't plan to feed them additional nitrogen for the next two weeks minimum. The Allmix with the worm humus should have more than enough nutrients to get them by for quite a while and their baby leaves are still lish and green. So they should have plenty of storage. But i'll still add Root Juice and bacteria to their water to promote them some juicy root development.
I'm gonna switch from misting to regular waterings this week, but we start with little doses to avoid overwatering.
Plant training is not going to happen until their topping which may happen in the next week. Instead we practice grower training and try to keep our hands of the little ladies as much as possible.
Overall we got a good start and i hope the girls will feel at home in their new pots and enjoy life.
Day 16: The gals seem to be fine. I upped the light to 40% and sometimes the temps get a bit high (28-29°), but i hope i could fix that abit with increasing the ventilation. And as soon as they drink more and more water will be present, temps should go down a little. At the moment its quite stable at 25-26°, which is almost perfect.
They got 0.1l of water today today. Starting to introduce them to regular sips of water instead of spraying.
Day 18: The sweet ladies are developing fine. They are making noticable growth during this week and seem to be happy with their new home so far. I let them chill until at least day 25 before i do some hst on them. Thank you @nonick123 for the good advice! Temps are a bit more under control between 24° and 26°, RH sits between 60% and 80%. No signs of pests at all. So environmental settings are just fine for this week. Sometimes the best thing you can do, is doing nothing. They get another 0.1l of water today. We'll increase the watering amount next time.
Day 20: I had one day where the humidifier didn't work, but the gals did not seem to care much about that. They got their 0.1l sip of water today. I'll double that next week because it feels like so little, but they do not show any signs of underwatering, so i guess we're still fine. All in all a very good week, not much to do besides having an eye on the environment and water regularly. Next week could be the topping week, but not before the weekend i guess.

Day 21: The ladies look good for their age. One has already reached the edges of the pot, which is great progress and a good sign they made themselfs a happy new home in their final pots.
I'll not feed them any nitrogen for this week. I guess i start slowly after the topping. But they got their new pots a week ago and there should be still enough nutrients in the soil to feast on. So this should be the last week without fertilizer for them.
Watering will be 0.2l per day from this week onwards and we'll see how they take it. But i'm quite positive that they developed enough roots to take that up. I'll be cautious and watch them closely.
So i think its time to make some plans how we approach this run in terms of timing. This weekend (or when they reach their sixth/seventh node), i'm gonna top them down to their third node and set up a little base for them to grow from.
After the topping i want to have at least another three weeks of veg. I think one is needed to recover, then two for nice and rapid growth before we switch to flower.
And i decided to do a preventive flush when switching lights from veg to flower. Because in all my photoruns (just two, but its all the experience i got), i ran into issues at the start of the flower and i want to test if a flush prevents that.
So i'm hyped about the next weeks and i hope the plants will do fine. Fingers crossed 😊
