I started by placing two seeds of each strain in separate cups of water overnight. The next day I transferred the seeds over to paper towels inside of Tupperware bowls. After seeing tap roots poking out roughly a 1/8th of an inch I transferred the seeds in to AC Infinity 1/4 gallon nursery pots filled with Mother Earth Groundswell soil with no added nutrients. These pots were placed inside of a tray with a humidity dome with the vents completely sealed as well as misting the dome. Once the seedlings started to sprout I opened the vents halfway for half a day, and then fully for the rest of the day, removing it the following day. The lights were on 24hrs until the dome was removed from the tray. I will only be keeping one seedling from each strain and only sprouted two due to my issues germinating just 1 of each in the past.
The plants are slowly developing past their first set of true leaves. Two of the plants have started to grow in a somewhat odd manner, however, so far it doesn't seem concerning. I've been watering the pots with Rootwise Mycrobe Complete, and Thrive Probiotics. Overall they all look happy and ready to grow.
Most of the plants are doing well, the Peyote Forum despite some leaf deformations. For some reason however the Californian Orange has been slowly declining in health. this has caused me to debate possibly replacing with one of my backup 2 plants I had kept of one of the other strains. I have been watering all of the plants similarly when somewhat dry on top with Rootwise Mycrobe Complete, Thrive Probiotics and Jay Plantspeaker's Q20 as a saponin. I have now transplanted all of the plants somewhat early into there new homes, however, they remain inside of their nursery pots. All of the plants had shown sings of there roots growing through the pot. Most notably was the raspberry cough with a stubble like root structure starting to form on one side of the pot. Because of the nature of this transplant I will be replacing the Californian Orange with another plant if I can't get it to recover by the time I top all the other plants. Otherwise the plants are all taking well to their new home.
Unfortunately the Californian Orange plant that I started with had to be replaced and is now another Scrooge. Other than this the plants are doing quite well. The Raspberry Cough has been growing far quicker than the other strains so I've topped it to allow the other plants to catch up somewhat in height. The cover crop has been flourishing the whole time as well, I've been pushing it down daily so as to ensure it's not blocking any light from the plants.
The plants are all doing well, all the other plants slowly but surely catching up to the Raspberry Cough. I've now super cropped the top portion of the Raspberry Cough, as well as pulled a few of the branches over to it's corner. This is so it doesn't start to block the other plants but still grows more bushy rather than vertically. I topped what appeared to be the main cola on the Peyote Forum, only to realize that due to it's mutations earlier on it already appeared to be growing with two main branches. This secondary branch appears to still be growing mutated growing in multiple directions at the top of the branch. other than this strange growth pattern the plant appears to be growing well. So far the biggest advantage I've found growing in a raised bed is that similar to my outdoor grows, I can take a more hands off approach and don't have to be monitoring the plants daily. The biggest part of this is I've only needed to water once every other week. The only negative I've run into so far using a raised bed is just it being a bit more difficult to keep the plants from overlapping since I can't move around individual pots.
Honestly just more of the same. I lightly defoliated each plant one or two leaves to open up to the lowers. the Raspberry Cough continues to grow int to the space for the first Scrooge plant so I've slowly had to remove new growth going in that direction to stop it from covering the shorter plant.
About a day or two after my last update I put of the scrog net to slow down the Raspberry Cough height wise. Since putting it up all of plants now at least reach the net while both the Peyote Forum and Raspberry Cough have been getting weaved through for most of the week. To ensure I don't run into any serious nutrient deficiencies I added a mixture of craft blend and gnarly barley to the soil. I watered it in with BIG 6 added to my usual water mixture of Mycrobe Complete, Thrive Probiotics, and Jay Plantspeakers Q20. Overall the plants are healthy and are going to be ready to flip to flower in the next couple of weeks.
Overall the plants have been growing without almost any issue. However, when I was trying to bend the main branch for the second Scrooge plant, I bent to far/quickly and snapped it. I made sure to use gardening wire to hold it back in place, although the plant has seen better days because of this. Other than that I've made sure to lollipop the lower sections of the plants to clear them up and prepare them to flip into flower next week. The Raspberry Cough has been a struggle to keep from severely outgrowing the other plants in height, I've been going in and defoliating and bending over that plant on the daily, while going a few days before bending over the branches from the other plants.
I started a new job so I kind of fell off from keeping up on the journal but the grow has been going strong. The plants are nearing the final week and they've been looking happy the whole time, I did a decent strip a few weeks ago and since then I've just been letting them grow. The Peyote Forum Stretched the most, along with the second Scrooge plant as I didn't top that one. All the buds are absolutely covered in trichomes but looking at them under a microscope they're all still pretty clear. The shorter of the Scrooge plants has interestingly small structuring to the buds while still being sizable. Since last updating I've also implemented an irrigation system with two drip emitters around each plant. After I started adding BuildABloom to the water the plants have been praying to the light nearly all the whole time.
@Dunnruss63, I haven't kept great track in the past, but it's always been enough to last me and my friends until my next harvest. This is actually my first indoor grow with a raised bed, but I've learned a lot from BuildASoil on the overall benefits of using one for an indoor grow. I used a lot of there products with my outdoor grow last year and I'm hoping it'll be as easy of a time growing indoors. From what I've seen with their grow documentaries on Youtube, I'm expecting great results.
