All was smooth UNTIL.......a clog in the autopots. (This, folks , is why you need to not be lazy like me, and clean your autopot tubes between EVERY GROW. I was stupid and a small section of my tubing was clear. That section developed algae. Blocking water flow to the plants. I was busy farming and did not catch it for almost 2 days. It deffently slowed growth a little but oh well. Shit happens right. Other than that, the 4 plants are doing good. Hopefully I didn't stunt them too much, autoflowers don't do well after being stunted.
This week will be severe defoliation week. Lights will get dropped and the buds will swell. Nothing quite like homemade organic super soil, water only growing from germination to harvest. I'm starting to think what my next grow will be. So they are ready when this tent is empty.
2 of 4 have been defoliated. Autopot system is doing its thing. Homemade organic super soil. Only water only in the reservoir. I had to turn on the carbon filter, she's starting to destroy the house.
Boy, are these things starting to fatten up. Starting to pop some beautiful colors. at the beginning of flower 2 were defoliated HEAVILY, and 2 were not. I wanted to see what kind of difference it would cause. The smell is unique and it's starting to get quite pungent. Somewhere around 20 days are left. Let's see how they finish up.
Believe it or not, plant 3, that was not defoliated, has the best and thicket most dense colas. I thought the defoliated plants would be the best.....interesting. I believe these plants are just about done. I will start checking trichromes next week. That would put them a week or so earlier than the advertised growing time.
Cruising right along. They should really be done any day now. Trichromes are all cloudy with very few Turning amber. I'll give them a few more days. I'm still blown away that the 2 plants that were not defoliated, did slightly better then the ones that were defoliated. I might run this experiment on a few more grows, before I stop defoliating heavy during flower. Thanks for checking the grow out guys. I look forward to tasting these insane terps. I should mention, one of the 4 plants, a defoliated one, is baffling me. It's super dense, covered in trichromes, beautiful colas and super sticky, but not one ounce of SMELL! I can squeeze her on every cola and bring my nose down to the nugs and zip, zero, no smell. While the other 3 are stinking up my entire house, even with a carbon filter. I almost want to keep her and try to breed a no, or low stench plant for growers who need to hide it lol.
Even as a seasoned grower, these things had just a few problems early on. Nothing crazy but they did require a little babysitting to get them started strong into veg. I would deffently grow these again. The terps are LOUD. They are short bushy plants that stack really dense nugs that are above average in Size. Nice and sticky leaving your fingers coated in goo. 3 of the 4 harvested amazing. One, has absolutely no smell. No matter how much I squeeze and play with it, none. It's still dense and sticky. Just weird having no smell. These deffently weren't my biggest harvest of 4 plants I've ever done, but the flowers look and smell great. Everything I've grown from HSC has been above average.
Chopped! Hung up in dry tent. Smell is STRONG! nugs are sticky. Plants are pretty small, but they are stacked. I would grow again. Hopefully it smokes as good as it smells.
Congrats on the good harvest... I've had a similar experience with MJ, no big harvests but really good quality bud.
I'm curious, did you use any nutrients? was it an organic grow?
@@Chunga, thank you! I run a homemade organic super soil. So it's water only the entire grow. Base soil is equal parts peat, pearlite and composted cow manure . In the bottom half of my bags I add my homemade dry amendment mix ( bone meal, blood meal, seabird guano, sulfate of potash, dolimite lime, Epsom Salt, azomite and humic acid. Top half of bags is plain soil. 5 gallon pots are on autopot xl system with only water in the reservoir. After the MJ was done I immediately transplanted in a few blueberry headband. I'm hoping to see them go to the roof of the tent. Thanks for checking out my grows. I wish I started grow diaries sooner to show off so of the crazy grows I've had on my Insta account.
Looking really good at week 9. Great job!! I too am growing in “living soil” but not in the true sense this run. I only had 5 gal fabric pots available so I already did a light top dress and have some Organics Alive products to use if I get into something that needs immediate attention. I live in a super high humidity environment so I will defoliate on a regular basis plus have a lot of air moving.
Happy Harvest!!
