Update: Smoking this is really nice, it's my first grow ever and this strain is on par with the best stuff we have ever bought from anywhere (dealer or dispensary). I made several mistakes with this grow and it still came out excellent. Can't wait to grow it again, can only imagine it'd get better. Great for a relaxing evening smoke and/or pre bedtime smoke, nice to sleep on. I don't feel it's fair to CKS and white cookies for me to rate the growing or disease resistance. This was my first grow and I had some issues with power, temp, humidity, and I don't think it's fair to have my inexperience and mistakes weight in on this strain/breeder reputation. I'll be growing this again as I feel this first time around wan't a good representation of the genetics and the little sample we have tried of the end product is nice. So it'll get a round 2 or more and I'll give it a more realistic evaluation at that point.

The grow really comes down to 2 words….. Learning Experience The breakdown is like this. Early cut to remove bud rot – some colas had clean buds and I ended up keeping just over 2oz (about 60g) Actual harvest – 520g wet and 103g dried, I trimmed the dried bud really close and tossed some away because it was questionable with rot. Total Dry Weight = 60g early 103g final harvest = 163g (5.8 oz) of white cookies. The 4x4 tent total dry weight of the White Cookies and Super Silver Haze was over 5 oz early harvest and over 12 oz final harvest. Total early and final harvest was almost 18 oz. Even with all the bud rot and problems this has exceeded my expectations. The early harvest bud isn't very nice to smoke but has made GREAT edibles. This was my first grow of MJ and my first time trying to grow inside and with bottled nutes. It’s been a lot of work making the room… setting it up, heating, cooling, lighting, humidity, and airflow. Like everyone I had grand ideas how awesome this grow could be. But I tried to keep myself grounded and kept telling myself that I needed to be realistic for a first grow and that if I achieve 8 oz total from the tent (all the plants White Cookies and Super Silver Haze) it would be good successful for a first grow. I knew there would be mistakes, issues, and problems that I’d have to face as almost everyone does during their first grow. In the end I had to toss away over ½ the plant due to bud rot. All of the big large colas were affected, the smaller thinner ones were the ones less affected and made it to the end. In the 4x4 tent I had 4 fan, three 8” oscillating and 1 static 6” fan. I had a 6” venting fan pulling from the top, A/C, heat at night, and a 70 pint dehumidifier. But one of the big problems was the grow room didn’t have enough power from the breaker panel and on the hot days the A/C would trip the circuit breaker. This would cause the heat and humidity to spike, the tent fans to turn off, and everything to go into the very bad extremes. This is most likely what started/caused the bud rot. Because it was a lack of power that was causing the issue it wasn’t a quick or easy fix. You can’t just put a larger breaker in because the wire run can’t handle the increased power, it’d burn down the room. Adding to the issue was that the breaker panel was full so adding another breaker wasn’t an easy option. A new breaker panel would need to be installed first and then new power lines run to the room. The project to upgrade the electrical capacity of the room ended up taking over a month. But that time was the critical flower month as power draw wasn't such an issue during vegging when we had smaller lights and better weather. I'm not going to lie, I felt very down and frustrated with this grow at points. It took a long time, I had many many issues, and the bud rot was like getting kicked in the gut over and over again as I had to continually trow away big fat colas every day or two. I was close to throwing in the towel several times on this grow but I persevered and have been rewarded in the end. DON"T GIVE UP!!! KEEP ON GROWING.... They say experience is expensive and they aren’t wrong. This first grow has been expensive in every way…. time, money, stress, frustration, yield, etc, etc…00

@NomNom,Very cool! I caught up on your SSH diary and the size of these plants is amazing. Especially love that you immediately went for mainlining and kept them super low! :) Best luck with the end of flower and harvest!

@Fullmeltalchemist,This is our first grow. Our goal was just to try things out. I've never done mainlining for LST on plants, wanted to try cloning, and with it being legal here (with limitations) I wanted to see how big I could get a plant and how much it could produce. We have a 4 plant limit here so I've been thinking to run 2 in veg and 2 in flower at the same time. So I wanted to see how much time it would take to fill'ish a 4x4 tent with 2 plants, That way I'd know my cycle time for veg and flower/dry time is fairly standard at 10-14 weeks it seems. I also have another diary on here with a super silver haze, the two are actually grown together at the same time, I'm just playing catchup with this diary to get it unto speed. The other one is current. I played with cloning, got 2 to go from the SSH but this WC I could not get the clone to take. I let the 2 clones live and sent them to flower, so I have 3 of the same plant with staggered grow times going into flower and I'm going to use that to help understand how many grams per total weeks for a grow I can get. There has to be a optimal time spacing for running 4 plants and it'd be nice to figure out.

@Budisaurus,Thanks. It’s just a shame I had the power issues that caused the bud rot to happen. I

@ChefDan420,it was epic until the bud rot took over 1/2 the cola’s. I’m hoping the next grow won’t have that issue now I have a dehumidier and new power line ran into the room for it.

That is almost the setup for fluxing. Although, more defoliated than a flux. Check out this guy's method, I think he wrote a book on it too: https://www.420magazine.com/community/threads/light-addicts-quick-guide-to-fluxing-featuring-the-original-flux.208400/

@MovingOn,Never heard of fluxing before, I might have to try that on my next grow. Thanks for the link and the info much appreciated.

also this is my first attempt at maintaining & I topped mine at the first node once I had 3 nodes & let it grow for another week and then took the top 2 beginning colas and clone them. but after that I let mine grow like normal & then lst tied her down. And honestly based on what I've seen with everyone else's grow that mine grew quicker I think because I didn't bring stress to mine and I could have mine in the same shape as everyone else still l. I haven't defoliated any of my branches tho idk if this is going to make me yeild less but I'm happy with how mine is & I know that u r to but I just wanted to explain how I did mine. HAPPY GROWING!

Was wondering wat soil you used for this nice grow
NomNom
NomNomcommented5 years ago
@TrAY5, my advice is to take it simple on your first grow. Doing more things just means more things to try to keep correct. Look at my more recent diaries for better documentation. Funny Monk, Aurora Borealis, Bikini Atoll, and Naughty Nurse are my most recent diaries (Berry Be Good and Island girl) are both very good as well. All of those have much better documentation. My suggestion would be to look over my Funny Monk diary (growdiaries.com/diaries/25851-funny-monk). The Harvest has the feed/water schedule for all of flower period. The comments also have great information from myself as well as other users, as do the other diaries I listed. I’d suggest going with a better breeder then Crop King Seeds. They do make good plants... sometimes. Their seeds are very erratic. Good luck, if you have any more questions just let me know I’m happy to help out a fellow grower.

@NomNom, okay thanks and how often do u water and do to follow the nutes recommended feeding or do u feed less feed more on your grows? Love all your grows and plan on using your diaries as a guide. Will b my first grow soon

@TrAY5,Pro-Mix CC/HP with some extra perlite added. It’s what I use for all my grows.

hey what type of lights are those you use
NomNom
NomNomcommented6 years ago
@Letgetit, Those lights are one of the main reasons we were stunting the growth because we were trying to get them for flower. The blurples we veg'ed under wouldn't cut it. I DIY them, using HLG drivers and Samsung Q-Series 2' Quantum LED strips (301b led's). The Q-Series LED's are the more efficient LED lights available on the market right now. You can buy the V2 quantum LED panels from HLG, but I wanted more even coverage edge to edge so I made my own. The 301b led's give off around 2.2ppf/watt. I made two light that are 2'x2' with one 240w driver running 10 2' strips (half 3000k and half 3500k). I also made one 4'x2' light with two 240w drivers and 20 2' strips (half 3000k and half 3500k). The lights are dimmable, right now the 4'x2' is at 400w (from the wall 350w DC to the lights), and the 2'x2' are at 200w each. I can run them up at max power around 1000w but that would burn the plants.

I think that ur defoliateing so often that its causing ur plant to stunt its growth. she looks awesome but 13 weeks in it should be way bigger. I'm just trying to look out for the next guy as I don't know everything but I believe if you still defoliated but not as much you will experience quicker growth and turn around time but like I said she an awesome healthy looking plant by all means!
NomNom
NomNomcommented6 years ago
@Letgetit, we were actually trying to stunt her, this is our first grow and we were waiting on equipment and working on our grow setup/room. We wanted her stunted so she didn't get too big by the time we had everything read to go into flower.
