Welcome to my grow diary. I've got a small aquaponics system outside in my small garden in South Holland. Both plants were sprouted 3-4 weeks ago and grew behind the window in a pot. Now in the outdoor mini aquaponic system since 5 days. I also have plants in the ground, but it needed another diary for that.

The strawberries were partly eaten by a bird, so I protect the 2 ones with a jar. The Auto White Widow eventually didn't revive so I removed it. I've put another seed to germ. I wonder if I should remove the strawberry plant soon. It makes extensions with new little plants. And probably using lots of the nitrates that could go for the weed...

I moved the whole system to a better, more sunny place. It was where the table is and behind the kitchen door. I also removed the biggest strawberry plant so the others get more nutrients. I really want the weed to grow now it's finally warm. Every Saturday I go get one or two buckets of water from the park with duck weed, the fish love it and there is some bonus little animals to hunt. I add it to where I store the rain water, where the mosquitos lay their eggs. This way I can always feed them some algaes and there is often some mosquito larvae too (besides the usual dry fish food). Balanced diet 8-) I'm germing a new seed: Auto Moby Dick from Dinafem. (Edit 2 days later: now a picture)

Making new leaves, I hope the weed will now make leaves quicker than the slugs eat them. Really hope to get some buds at some point... :-/ It looks like with the new location, less of them find their way here. I keep feeding the fish with all the slugs I find around the garden. I wonder if I should also remove the other strawberry plants...

Quite rainy and cloudy weather second week. Auto NL showing the first signs of flowering, secondary branches/leaves and few pistils. won't be big, but hopefully the quality will be there :-) The MobyDick Auto got transplanted inside the hydroponics. I will really check carefully for slugs and snails as last year they ate a baby plant in just two nights!

The Auto NL continuing to flower, she's growing secondary branches, but not so much in size. And the MobyDick auto enjoying the hydro, she didn't get a single leaf eaten by slugs! Good girl!

I think the Auto NL is finishing to stretch. I opted for some LST treatment so she can take more light on all the secondaries. I got electronic pH and conductivity testers. Playing with them, and slowly filling up a table :)

Still the same treatment! as it seems to work. I make sure to keep it over 400ppm. I notice conductivity (the nutrients in the water) goes well up when I throw many slugs! No more water from the canal, since it rained enough. I have lots of mosquito larvae, so I try to give them everyday, to reduce the number of moskitos (they don't bite very hard and are really slow). Cheers!

Growing great! The conductivity is stable above 400ppm and pH around 6,40-6,70 A really rainy and cloudy week, but growing really fast!!!! Super happy! I found 3 slugs on the plant, and threw about 20 from the garden to the neighbourghs. Feeding the birds or ants :-D

Now super steady! I need to add way less water than last year (over half a liter a day then), because the eweather is just so cloudy. Just 20°C, max during the day, rarely above and not for long... But it doesn't prevent them to grow fast! Lazarus is a baby that I had put in the filter tank in spring. He spent the autumn and winter in the living room with his bros after I found eggs by september. I thought they had disappeared but there he is! Or maybe it's a joke from a friend...

Make sure you tap that water off those buds.

@goarilla, Thanks for the tip, it usually dries up (or gets absorbed) quite quickly, but I'll definitely pay lots of attention to it in the coming weeks. I'm even thinking to fit a transparent plastic bag over them if and when forecast seems too wet for too long.
