In nomine patris et filii et spiritus sancti - CannaJesus is back! 😂
Transplated to the final 10L pot, and topped above node 3. Also lollipopped everything and left only 2 leaves, and the 2 branches on node 3.
Tied branches flat to prepare for the manifold
4 days after topping, the plant is as good as new!
I think that due to some genetic imbalance in the plant, one of the main branches is way beefier (right) than the other (left). I supercropped the left branch hoping this will give it some beefiness.
After supercropping the left branch 3 days ago, now I have a more balanced grow on the left branch. Right branch is still better in terms of new branches that are a bit more developed than on the left side, but overall things are more balanced now.
Let's see how this goes.. 😅 I think in a week or so I'm going for the last topping (the growth spots for left and right branches), and some lollipopping. Not sure at the moment what the exact setup will be, as the initial one was going for 12 colas, but at the moment I'm tempted to have 6 on the left branch and 8 on the right polyploid branch.
Defoliated a bit, and tied down a few of the future colas (the ones that could support this operation, as the rest will follow in the next few days).
I really think supercropping resolved the balance issue as you can clearly see the new branches on the left side are actually more developed than the ones on the polyploid side. Next step would be to have all the intended colas tied down, and top the ends so I can start focusing on stretching them away from the manifold
Today (25 December 2023) I did the last topping, and also tied down more of the branches. The right (polyploid) side is continuing to grow a bit slower than the left side - let's see if that changes after recovering from the topping, in theory it should help with boosting growth.
The polyploid side has multiple new growth spots that I didn't remove because it's yet not clear which ones would make for decent branches for me to use, so they will live for another few days until I can tie them down. Also did a bit of defoliation, but nothing too crazy.
Nothing eventful lately - all my toppings have gone great so I didn't expect anything else for this last one. On 2nd January (a week after the topping) I did some heavy defoliation but for some unknown reason I forgot to take a "before" pic.
The gist of it is I decided which branches from the polyploid side to let live, and which were removed. I ended up with 14 mains (6 on the normal side, 8 on the polyploid side). The branches on the polyploid side are less developed than the regular side, but I don't really care too much as I'm in no rush of sending it to flower - I need to fill the whole volume of the box, so there's more vegging ahead 😅
I did another defoliation because I needed proper light to my growth spots and, as always, I'm not growing this plant for leaves 🤓
Removed quite a few leaves, and the shooting new branches off of the mains, and repositioned and flattened the canopy. At this point I'll send her to flower after the canopy raises another 5-7 cm as right now I'm stretching the mains away from the manifold in a very flat manner.
I probably need another 1-2 weeks until it reaches the point I'm confident in starting the flowering schedule.
Nothing eventful over the past 2 weeks (currently in veg for 8 weeks total), the plant has just been vegetating and growing mass. I've added some supports that will help me tie down the main colas better once flowering will start.
This weekend I'll do a lollipop, a supercrop of the 14 mains, and I'll set her to the 12/12 schedule.

Today (21 January 2024) the Jack Herer is vegging for exactly 60 days. I lollipopped it, but kept a few leaves on the bottom layer for warnings (pH issues, nutrient issues, etc).
The defoliation was pretty heavy, and once finished I also supercropped each of the 14 mains. Now when I look at it in the box I know I should probably have done this 3 days ago, but then again not having enough space is a problem I like to have - it's way better than having the box half full 😁
Based on previous experience with the strain, I expect a flowering of 10 weeks, but we'll see along the way
Day 9 of flowering (day 17 since 12/12 flip) and it's growing steadily. Flowers started to form and everything is looking peachy 😎
4 branches are seriously underdeveloped - I'll see later on if I cut them completely or I allow them to make maybe a gram each 😅 Also some branches only have flowers developing way too up on the branch for my linking, which means I'll have some "more stick than flower" branches at the end - which is not exactly great, but I'll see where it goes..

Day 12 of flowering (day 20 since 12/12 flip), defoliated ~20 leaves for better light penetration, I still have a bit of vertical space left and I hope it’ll be enough
Day 20 of flowering (day 28 since 12/12 flip) and it pretty much stopped growing vertically, and the buds are starting to beef up and also got a nice piney aroma 🙂
Removed ~15 leaves for better light penetration/coverage. 4 mains will never recover and are at most 1/2 compared to the other 10 - win some, lose some.
Day 30 of flowering (day 38 since 12/12 flip) and everything is getting fatter.
I continue to defoliate when leaves mess with light penetration, so a few leaves every 3-4 days.
Up until now everything has been smooth sailing
Day 34 of flower (day 42 since 12/12) - everything is getting even beefier, and also smell started to intensify, so I will need to replace my activated carbon pellets soon.
Added a second fan in order to make sure 100% of the air inside the box is getting moved around.
Everything's peachy and I can't wait for the harvest
