Planted up in 4" blocks this week...the roots are already out the bottom of blocks. They'll stay like this so the roots will air trim. Then on to a veg table for a few weeks.
Dipped only the bottom half the blocks in a weak solution of formulex to get the roots going
These are growing just at the speed whilst waiting for the autos to finish off in the flowering tent.
I'll dip these again in formulex solution and leave on a tray for a week but really they should go on a veg tray now with recirculating water but i dont want them growing to fast at the minute
Into 5th week veg but these are big enough for flowering. I'll put them into flower tent in a few days time...I have spread these out over the last week to give them space and laid out some spreader for roots to grow into and covered over
Moved over to flowering room today...all looking healthy and ready togo
Im trying out 5 on one tray rather than spread out over two trays and tanks of water because of the humidity a few weeks down the line....
They'll drink the water in no time but i have to do what I can to keep the humidity down even with a dehumidifier once I got fat buds in these winter months
I'll try to train these into each corner of the tent
These have been in flowering tent a few days now....already started to take off...I've defoliated the bottoms and hst them and bent under the net. If a can help it I don't want a fat cola on top I want to keep bending it so the colas bend up forming a little buds rather than dense bug that could rot....if get me lol.

Monday: Looking good. I'm not going to get the height out of these that i thought I would get but either way I got a nice canopy forming.
I have HST these and kept bending under the netting so would be taller if I'd left them alone but i expected them to shoot off quicker.

Started to gain some height now :-) and drink some
Had to top up the tank the 40ltr tank with an extra 20ltrs of half strength feed. Should be ok now til Mondays tank change
Looking good and flower coming on well. I'm changing the water for fresh feed. Chucked in a fish tank heater as tap water now bloody freezing and it will stun the roots.
Gaining some height now even tho I bent the shit out the plants by bending them under the net to spread them out. I do love a bit of HST. I swear by it

Looking good this week....flower is really coming on...they are drinking alot too as i have 5 on one tray.Going to have some lovely buds in this tent.

Amazing difference in just a few days
The flowers are coming on a treat and swelling up well. Added the pk 13 14 this week to a fresh tank of flower food and zym. The smell is rather pungent too.
Flushing these babies now. 3 weeks of clean water from now....I definitely need to flush for 3 weeks to get this synthetic food out of the plant...In 3 weeks time the colour should've dropped out and hopefully nice and mature plants at the end
Still flushing with clean water only...can't believe how much colour has dropped out in a week I took off a shit load of yellow leaf before the photos...
These must have been hungry girls as it would normally take nearly 3 weeks for the colour to go....they're packing on some weight too. Ive had to slide the top net down now to support them...they are also drinking a shit load of water which obviously is a good ting.
Flushing with clean water only! This is start of the third week of flush. Really matured alot over last week. 1 plant is more in front than others...keeping my humidity low as possible as im always worried about bud rot at this stage but always turns out well everytime..the weather really has turned outside now it was -3c last night
Easy to grow...one plant next to zipped door had a tiny bit of bud rot but i put this down to bashing it around everytime I'm in and out of the tent...All 5 seeds come out a little different.
Was definitely a keeper in the bunch but i didn't take clones :-(
That was a very sticky first trim...I was caked in it.
I couldn't really smell it when it was growing but i am nose blind...once I started chopping it down and moving it it absoultely stunk lovely :-)

Im back...this is such a beautiful smoke I absolutely love it. Gutted I didn't take clones...I've had nothing but good reports back on this. The flavour, the smell every thing about it is nice...perfect evening smoke.

I love this way of growing its what i learnt with so growing in soil is just way to slow, messy and i cant get the yeild out of it.
Now to try and explain this lol.
The water containing your nutrient gets pumped onto the tray.
On the tray is the white spreader matt which spreads the water into a thin film of water that runs off the end of the tray back into the tank underneath.
You then sit your plant on top. You need plenty of roots coming out of your 4"block before you place it on the tray.
The pump should be on 24hrs a day BUT me personally put the pump on a timer randomly coming on for 15 mins every few hours. This allows the roots togo searching for water and that they don't know when their next feed is coming so when the water does come on the roots suck up what they can.
The trays are slopped so the water runs off and doesn't pool and become stagnant.
If you're talking about the brown 'jiffy' blocks that you put in water which then swells up.

@@SeedLover,I'm worried about bud rot as i can tell they will be pretty dense. My problem is temp drop once the lights go off. It makes the bud sweat in the middle.... My humidity was getting upto 63 at night so chucked in dehumidifier yesterday which has reduced it to low 50s now. Touch wood it stays that way....I could have done with them stretching a bit more but i think the yeild will ok. Nice yeild you got tho, nice one 👍✌️
@@@hydrohippy, had 3 peyote critical and 1 critical kush, got 580g from 3 peyotes and 380g just from 1 critical kush (which unfortunately I had to cut down way too early because of budrot settling in (70-90% RH was hard on the plants)). All four under 1000w NEW bulb.

@CRiSPrGrow, I do love my roots. I'm only half way through....the roots at the end will even more insane...they're like a thick white rug....

@CRiSPrGrow, ive been using this method for at least 20 years and trust me mate this took years to master and I'm still learning.
It's all about having plenty of roots to start with then not over feeding them. If you go by the recommended feed on the bottles you would kill your plants in 24hrs from burning the roots.
Then it's about how fast the water runs off the table so the plants take up the feed. How warm or cold the water is....ph fluctuations...plus lots more
Now you can see why people use soil lol

How stinky is this one? bought some from a friend and it wreaked nice? Not sure wether to grow it beacause of that, got to go stealthy, and so far 3 out of 4 strains I purchased a few years back they were just to strong to carry on my grows. :(
@PannDanggDiddlyAngg, its not that pungent but obviously does smell. i'm a bit nose blind as i'm around weed all the time. make sure you causing a negative pressure in your grow area otherwise you will be forcing the smell out the of any cracks, doors or vents and obviously use carbon filter

Honestly love this technique that you use... does the plant sit on top of a normal film or a special nutrient film? And then do you water normally or do you have a constant flow of water running through your tray ?
Also just like to ask what the cube is called that the seed initially goes into? And can that be used to start a soil grow as well or only hydro. I’ve seen many people use it and it seems to work awesomely!

ho did you get roots like that to blow up out of blocks? I've got a flood tray with blocks, have it covered with badding on the bottom, using droppers, but can't get roots like that. hats your strategy
@Riles, in first few weeks of veg I let the rockwool get about 75% dry. I only dip the bottom half of the blocks with their sleves on in a weak nutrient solution and let almost dry and repeat til u have abundance of roots....check out the early weeks of each of my diaries
Such an awesome video! I went a little different with the flora caps and have a raised bed of rock wool for my first go round. I’ve also leaned by totes about 3° inward with shims and a drop of thinner plywood for drainage in the center. While not the same I hope to get the same effect. It’ll be fun to see what I can get out of these auto ladies. I’m already building the main tent exact to my same exact spec for some photo critic + 2.0. One thing is for sure that I HAVE to veg as tall as I want them with the HLG’s although the nodes are perfect the stretch is always minimal.
