24 hours in a shot glass of bottled water and 24 hours in a cotton round dampened with the same water, in a half-closed ziplock. Both wrapped in a t-shirt on a heating pad on low. 5gal fabric pot with an air base (but no air dome) at the bottom. FoxFarm Cultivation Nation CocoCoir/Perlite 70/30. 3-6-24: Dampened coco with dechlorinated tap water ph'd to 6.5 then planted seeds and covered with domes. Humidifier in tent (auto measurement is way off so I'm trying to turn it on when humidity drops below 60%). Humidity holding around 70%. Mini heater in tent keeping it around 75-80F. Lights on 18/6. 250 PPFD.

Purple Gelato - Sun March 10, Day 2 - sprout has popped (planted in coco March 6, popped on March 9). Misting the top of the soil daily unless it's still damp, dechlorinated 6.5pH tap water. No nutes. Humidity dome on, humidifier and mini heater going in the tent. VPD averaging 0.97. Tues March 12, Day 4 - had to help out Purple Gelato a little - her leaves were folded up and kind of stuck together so I just gave her a little nudge to spread open and BOOM she came out to play within a few hours. Still nothing from the Humboldt Sour Apple. All of the 10 Humboldt seeds from this order from North Atlantic Seed Co died - most didn't even pop a taproot. This one did pop a taproot but was much smaller than the Blimburn Purple Gelato. Nothing popping through the soil yet (also planted March 6).

Day 8 March 16, 2024 - removed humidity dome. Lights to 300ppfd. Spraying top of soil 6.5ph water when dry. Temp 78F, Humidity 68%. Day 11 March 19, 2024 - gave half gallon 6.2ph with 1ml/gal cal mag and each of the GH trio nutes to Purple Gelato. Discovered that my Green Planet nutes were sent with the wrong bottles, so I emailed them for the missing bottle and top-watered the GH trio instead. Declared the Humboldt Sour Apple dead. It never sprouted. That's 11 dead Humboldt seeds from that order. I'm either done ordering seeds from North Atlantic Seed Co or done with Humboldt - I don't know which. I ordered new seeds from Mephisto and popped a taproot on Mango Smile, but it doesn't seem to be growing past the shell crack. I put it in the dirt and we'll see what happens.

Sat 3-23-24, 1/2 gal ph 6.2 dechlorinated tap water with nutes, 1ml each cal mag and GH - green planet shipped the wrong bottle for my autopot nutes so i'm waiting for the replacement. hoping to start the autopots in a week. This was the 2nd half gallon watering. I started mid last week as it seemed the plant was yellowing a little and I'm guessing nutrient deficiency because I'd only been misting with water (so I don't think it was overwatering) - so that was the first soaking of the coco. Gave up on the other Humboldt seed. Germinating a Mephisto Mango Smile now - put it in the shot glass last night. Mon 3-25-24 - Mango Smile popped a nice taproot and was planted in the coco this morning! Thurs 3-28-24 - Mango Smile sprouted! Not sure how well this will go with the plants being 3 weeks apart. I'm about to turn on the autopots for Purple Gelato but will have to keep it off for Mango Smile. They're probably too far off to ever feed the same nutes. Might have to topwater Mango throughout.

Turned on the autopots to the Purple Gelato - mixed 5 gal of pH 6.2 dechlorinated water with Green Planet nutes, 40ml each Dual Fuel 1 and 2, VitaThrive, and Rezin. I used a rubber band to kink the line to the other autopot. I'm stirring the reservoir every morning. I still have the mini heater and humidifier in the tent - haven't turned on the exhaust fan yet but do have an oscillating fan going. Lights up to 500 ppfd. Hoping that's not too hot for the seedling. Might be done with the heater and humidifier soon. Purple Gelato is looking good - exploded with the nutes. Day 4 March 31, 2024 for Mango Smile - misting each morning with 6.2 pH dechlorinated tap water. Day 27 April 4, 2024 Purple Gelato - turned on the exhaust fan as she's breathing enough now that I couldn't keep the humidity below 70%. I still have the humidifier kicking in when it drops below 60 but I think I'll be done with that soon.

PURPLE GELATO Day 30 - April 7, 2024 - Autopot reservoir was down to near the spigot so she drank about 4 gallons in 7 days (half gallon ish a day). The Green Planet feed chart only lists 3 weeks of veg, so even though I'd still call this one more week of veg, I moved into week 1 flowering on the feed chart. I mixed up another 5 gallons of pH 6.3 dechlorinated tap water with 40ml each Dual Fuel 1 and 2 and Rezin. Lights to 600 ppfd a few inches down on the plant since I plan to tie back with some LST when my plant wire arrives. MANGO SMILE Day 11 - April 7, 2024 - Gave her the first full watering with nutes. I used the general hydroponics nutes to save my autopot nutes for the autopot, 1 gallon pH 6.3 dechlorinated tap water, 1ml cal mag, 2ml micro, 1ml grow, 1ml bloom. Took off the humidity dome. Light is about 450 ppfd down at her level.

Struggle bus. Gelato still not flowering. I was traveling this week so she was on auto pilot with the autopots. I gave her a pretty heavy defoliation on the lower half when I got home because the leaves were just so dense and I was having issues keeping the humidity below 60%.

Last day of week 7 for Purple Gelato Auto and MAYBE she is in pre-flower??? UGH. She's 58 inches tall and my tent is only 6 feet. I've tied the main stalk off to the side tent pole because she's touching the light. I don't have much room left to move the light higher. There's no way this is Blimburn Purple Gelato Auto. It was a freebie seed I got from North Atlantic Seed Co, and Blimburn says this strain should be seed to harvest in 8-10 weeks and only 40 inches tall. Light on her is about 800 PPFD at the majority of the canopy, higher where she's closer to the light. 78F, 60% humidity, 18/6. 6.4pH dechlorinated tap water with the last veg week nutes. Ironically Mango Smile (which just started week 5 here) appears to be showing sex with white hairs starting, so she's getting ready to go into flower I think. Problem is, she's not getting enough light. I added AC Infinity side light bars on the tent poles for her this week, but she's still only getting about 300 PPFD. I don't know what to do to get Gelato to flower. Flip to 12/12? I don't have room for her to grow any more. How will that affect Mango Smile? Do I add a second smaller light from the top just for Mango Smile so I can lower it closer to her? Ugh.

Day 49 autoflower not flowering? She's huge and I'm running out of room in the tent (58" and my tent is only 6 ft). Should I flip the tent to 12/12? Do I then keep it 12/12 the rest of the grow? How will that affect the Day 30 plant? Should I add 2nd light for smaller plant?

1. Like others who have shared, no need to flip to 12-12, she is preflowering. I would recommend switching to preflower nutrient schedule. 2. Consider placing the exhaust fan/carbon filter outside of the tent that can create more room at the top of the tent so you can raise your light. 3. Consider bending over the branches that are too close to the lights. Ensure you have a plan on to where to fold each branch as you don't want the branches laying on each other. Squeeze the branch between your fingers, where you want to the bend to be, and then gently fold over. Grow Weed Easily .com has a good article on super cropping - "Super Cropping Marijuana: Simple Secret to Bigger Yields", you may find useful. 4. Had some extreme stretching with my first grow, ended up needing to attach the light directly to bar, without any pullies, removed the exhaust fan to outside the tent and super cropped the crap out of one plant. Best of luck to ya!

May 8, 2024. Day 61 for Purple Gelato, Day 42 for Mango Smile. They're practically at the same point of flower - hilarious!! At least Purple Gelato seems to be finally kicking into flower. I did not end up changing the lighting. She seems to be slowing stretch but not stopped completely. I wish she'd switch to stacking nugs already. I am supercropping any branch that touches the light, as I have rigged it as high in my tent as it will go. So her main branches are now horizontal along the trellis, but that doesn't seem to be stopping her because the side branches keep on reaching up for the light, and more branches fill in and grow upwards. I really don't know if she's going to fit. The stretch needs to stop! She's got to be well over 6 feet tall now. Her main few branches have at least 1 foot bent horizontally. Mango Smile progressed into flower as expected on a normal timeline. I bought a second Spider Farmer light (the SF1000) and put it directly over Mango Smile, since the side bar lights weren't strong enough (though I did leave those on). Gelato is encroaching into Mango's head space but hopefully Mango won't get much taller and I can keep her below the trellis. There's so much plant material in the tent and it has been raining all week so I'm having humidity issues - like 65-70% levels of issues. The exhaust fan is now at 100% and I turned on the external fan that blows from the lung room into the tent. The humidity is supposed to drop in the next couple of days so I'm hoping that will be the end of that problem for a bit so I can dry everything out, and then next time it gets humid I'll turn the lung room humidifier on since the nugs will be starting to be nugs at that point. I push off turning it on because all of this is in my bedroom and it's noisy AF to sleep with. I also found that my duct that leads out the window had a few holes in it and was blowing some humid air into my lung room. I taped them up but why TF does duct tape not stick to those duct tubes? So annoying. The auto pots are going well. These green planet nutes that are supposedly designed for auto pots seem to leave quite a bit of residue so I'm guessing the lines will be gross AF when I'm done with this grow. That's unfortunate. But so far knock on wood I don't seem to have any nutrient deficiencies or issues there, and it is very easy to mix them up. I'm a little nervous that I'm going to run out of nutes before the grow is done - I suspect one package might have only been enough for 1 plant's full growth (in which case, they're some crazy expensive nutes, because I only used about half of my general hydroponics nutes for 2 grow cycles of 4 plants). I might have to order more green planet. I'll probably do some googling and see if the general hydroponics can work in the auto pots. Hydroponics is in the name, right? I'm putting 10 gal into the reservoir every 4 or 5 days now. 6.3pH, moved into the full green planet line this week. I'm calling it week 1 of flower.

At week 9, had to switch nutrients. Ran out of Green Planet and I had a lot of General Hydroponics Trio left, so I switched to that. I missed about 3 weeks of journaling here. Nothing exciting. Just kept nutes in the autopot reservoir. Purple Gelato, what a nightmare. At day 102, she had these giant colas but they were even buds - they were like stringy clumps of weird pistols. No smell. Barely any trichomes, nothing sticky. I decided to chop and dry her but she just dried into straight up hay that crumbled at the touch. Tossed her out in the yard. What a waste. Never again will I grow a Blimburn seed. I'm even a bit scarred by freebies in general. That was an awful experience. The beast plant was kicking off so much humidity even with my room-size dehumidifier INSIDE the tent and my exhaust fan cranked at 100%, in an AC-cooled room, I couldn't keep the humidity below 60% so for fear of mold or mildew and losing the whole grow, I chopped Mango a little early at day 77. (Breeder says 75-85 days but most people that have grown her say 85-95). She was starting to show amber trichomes just barely. I'd have liked to go another week at least, and in retrospect I wish I just pulled the beast out of the tent and trashed her and let Mango finish properly. Oh well. Live and learn.
