I’ve cut my losses and culled the seedling. Growing far too slowly to even bother attempting to grow on.
So it’s been a total loss for the sour stomper. I certainly won’t attempt to run again, such a shame and has soured my opinion on Mephisto slightly.
Culled today 27/3/24
She is clearly struggling and will be a waste of time growing on.
Sour stomper has been really poorly performing all round.
I’m fairly certain they are old tough seeds
Thats sad, maybe she didi not like the "old Soil" for seedlings i always take fresh soil, ( i reuse soil for older plants)then i know whats happening. i think she was overwhelmed.
thank you for rating our products.
next run will be better
@Hattiwatti, thanks again. Unfortunately I think this one is a dud. I was maybe going to give it another week but I’m seriously considering just cutting her and popping something different.
Sucks, especially with the high cost of seeds. If you make millions of something, anything, some are going to be bad. But 2 packs....
Good on you for deciding to cull.
But you now have room in the tent for something else, or to spread some branches out. 😁
@VitaMan, the space has been filled by my new competition bean Overdose auto! And a space is soon going to be freeing up so I’m just finalising what I’m going to grow next ;D
Hey, Sorry for your loss. I totally feel your pain about this. So, I thought I'd jump on the Mephisto bandwagon after hearing all those rave reviews. But man, buying their seeds here in Europe really hit my wallet hard. No freebies, no discounts, just a hefty price tag.
I decided to buy on Seedsman since they were recommended by Mephisto, but damn, what a disappointment. Spent nearly a hundred euros and ended up with two duds of Sour Stompers and two Double Grapes that just didn't make the cut. Now I'm questioning if I got a good deal at all, especially when I could've snagged like 15 seeds from Dutch Passion or Sweet Seeds during a sale for the same price.
Honestly, it's a real downer. I'm thinking maybe I'll hold off until Mephisto launches their own website in Europe. Hopefully, they'll have better prices and throw in some freebies. So far, my experience hasn't been all that great.
@Lambeta, that’s a real shame to hear. I’d definitely look at buying direct from the breeders, in Europe you should have quite a few decent ones to pick from I can think of Barneys Farm, Dutch Passion, Serious Seeds, Royal Queen Seeds, Green House Seeds and Super Sativa Seed Club that may be worth checking out.
I must say in my experience Mephisto genuinely is the best in the autoflower world sour stomper has been my first failure but all their other strains have and are growing like mad.
I tend to avoid seedsman as I’ve heard some bad things about their service. And at least buying direct from the breeders you know 100% you are getting the correct genetics.
But the cost of seeds really hurts when they don’t germinate through no fault of your own
@PersonalSmok3s, I’ve popped four seeds in total, first two failed completely so I ordered some more thinking that I had maybe cocked up and this second batch has had one failure and the one successful but with how slow it’s growing I’m certain it’s just as goosed as the duds 😅 really frustrating because until this point I’ve rarely had any unsuccessful. Literally never had a Mephisto bean fail apart fro the SS
It happens man, sometimes dud seeds get sent out 🤷♂️ contact them directly and see if they can rectify it? Always a chance you might get something sent 🙃
I still think Mephisto are number#1 for Autos hands down! But then again I would say that considering I’ve bought the majority of their collection prior to the raven berry release 😸lol
@PersonalSmok3s, yeah I’d definitely agree that they are best genetics out there! The only other auto breeder that seems to be as highly regarded is Night Owl. I’m looking to try their seeds but until I can buy direct I won’t be picking them up. Don’t like buying from seed seller and always buy direct for peace of mind that what I am growing is what it says it is 😅
I have to use online Seed Vendors sometimes, but only the ones that are based in my country, that’s the only way I get to run some of the more exciting US strains 🤷♂️😸
