Since its legal now, I will start documenting my current Grow of Zamnesia's Frosted Guava and Growers Choice's Ultra Violet GMO!
Its about the 4th-5th week since germination and after some difficulties at the beginning due to irrigation issues my 3 legal plants start to look healthy and ready to have some more weeks of vital vegetation before introducing flower.
Actually my stoner ass kinda lost track on which pot inhabits which plant but im pretty sure it will show during the process. :)
For this grow im keeping it simple by using a Living Soil/Super Soil Mix called "DopeSoil" which promises to deliver the necessary amount of nutrients through the whole grow. I wanted to experiment a bit with the mix and bought both Dope Soil and Dope Soil Lite.
The dosage for every 11l pot is different:
The first has only Dope Soil in it, the second only Dope Soil Lite and the third a 50/50 mixture.
Mainly Im just interested in what will work best for me in terms of quality and quantity of the harvest. But also here I mixed up the pots...
As in every organic grow the microorganisms in the soil make the nurients available for the plant, so im reckon there will be not much of a difference. But maybe some differences will show and teach me the optimal ratio for mixing the substrate (in case of nutrient burns or chlorosis)
Apart from that its the first time watering with Blumat, which is an automated irrigation system consisting of drippers.
Im also using Trifolium pratense as a cover crop to keep the moisture as evenly as possible and hopefully fix some atmospheric nitrogen.
As you can see, I already began to do some LST and my goal will be to build an even canopy before introducing flower!
I will mainly use this to document for myself, but of course Id be happy to see people engage with my posts!
Peace!
Another Update of my Ultra Violet GMO and Frosted Guava!
So far nothing crazy happened. My irrigation system does well now and keeps the soil moisture on a healthy level.
Some more LST paired with Supercropping lead to a more even canopy and a overgrow throughout most of the tent area (some supercropping attempts ended in the top breaking of, so basically i added like 5 toppings spreaded all over the vegetative phase).
Apart from that I defoliated some yellowing/light blocking leaves, to both get better light distribution and reduce the possability of diseases occuring.
The Ultra Violet in the left bottom corner had some minor nutrient burns which leads me to believe shes standing in the "strong" Dopesoil without any LightMix added.
I will introduce flower in some days, when the plants have fully regenerated from the last LST and Supercropping they have been subjected like to 5 days ago.
From now on the interesting phase begins and Ill keep you updated more regularly.
After 10 more days of Veg I finally flipped into 12/12 light period, introducing the flower cycle. So far Im pretty happy and my only concern is them streching up too high and get burned.
To prevent that im bending my tops down, which also results in a more even canopy.
Apart from that I did some more deleafing as my plants are pretty bushy.
While the flowerphase continues I did heavy lollipopping, to get about 1/2 of my (former very bushy) plants naked.
Also the SF-Nematodes I watered my plant with some time ago finally started working. The flowersites are starting to build up, so it wasnt a second too late. Otherwise I would have ended up with many dead fungus gnats inside my buds. Apart from that I dont have huge issues so far.
As i analyzed the budstructure of my ladies Im pretty sure, I misidentified the strains. To prevent any further confusion, Ill edit the former weeks accordingly.
Furthermore I ran into some pH-issues as my pH-meter broke. This lead the plant to be in a kind of stressful, generative stage of growing. Theyre starting to show some yellowing leaves with brown spots.
I have fixed this Issue and my plans are to run them some weeks now in a vegetative stage of growth to get them bud really good and thick. before switching back to a generative environment at the end of the lifecycle.
