So, while my two Autos are flowering, I decided to make use of their 16/8 schedule and have them share their tent with my very first photoperiod.
I was recently gifted some Black Muffin F1 Fast Version by Sweet Seeds and planted one of them with only little research (I liked the google images 🙋♀️).
Little did I realize there would be no grow reports to turn to.
So, if any of you by any chance has worked this beauty before- please share your wisdom with me.
This is going to be a fun one ✌️
Some technicality:
- my tent is tiny so I built a Scrog frame to keep her height in check
Day 7
Little baby is doing fine after one week. Her first leaves showed some deformation but as she is growing by the hour, I am not worried about that.
Humidity is a bit low for her since I moved her over to the tent 2days ago but I‘ve ordered a humidifier to help her out with that.
Named her Princess Fiona because of her Shreck-like ears :)
Day 9
Fiona‘s head got a bit too big for her baby stem do she‘ll have a little stick-friend for a couple of days. Light management in my tiny tent has been a pain in the ass but she seems to be thriving next to her bigger roommates :)
Day 11
There is something new about her each time I open up the tent. Her new leaves are normal so I guess the „Mutation“ was just some harm she got breaking out of the seed.
Day 13
She is officially a plant.
Day 15
Fiona is two weeks old and doing pretty good. I am giving her the standard treatment of .5l water (ph 6.5) every other day and nutes every second watering.
I love my plants most when they are in this stage as you can literally watch them grow.
Even though I have bought a humidifier, I have not been using it yet as she is handling the 40% well and I don‘t want to risk any harm to my blooming ladies‘ buds if not necessary.
I‘ll probably do a topping this around Day 21, if grow continues at this rate/without any complications.
Day 17
Fiona is still beautiful. I noticed a single little yellowish freckle on one of the leaves (size of a pin) but I am being cautious and skipped watering today as most of the issues I have ever had growing came from me doing too much.
Will probably hit her with .3l and CalMag the day after tomorrow but haven‘t decided which route to take yet.
Day 19
I have not watered Fiona since Day 15 but prepared her a nice breakfast of .3l with CalMag for tomorrow. The break has been good for her but I could tell she is getting thirsty again, which is a good thing.
She‘ll be ready for topping in 2-3 days :)
Day 21
Yay, Fiona is a dream of a plant so far. Huge, dark, lush leaves and fast development. She is going to be topped tomorrow as I am 100% sure she will be able to take it like a champ!
Day 22
Got up early to top the princess and fed her nutes and calmag afterwards 🤞
Day 23
Fiona took the topping without any issues so far. I am expecting her development to be a bit slowed down but no major complications.
Her leaves are as big as my hand and I am pretty sure she will fill up the entire 60x60 tent by the end of next week.
Day 25
Yes, well. I don‘t even think Fiona slowed down after topping. I love this plant.
Tomorrow, the two Autos will be gone. About time because she has started to stretch in every direction lately.
Day 26
Today was a good day for the Princess. Started her with .3 water breakfast. In the afternoon, her roommates moved out and in the evening, I added the humidifier I got her and set up the SCROG. Hope she is as happy as I am.
Day 28
It happened again ✌️
I overdid it with the watering and her leaves started drooping right afterwards. Thing is. This is not my first ride so I am not panicking the way I would have panicked before. I am going to let her dry out and she‘ll be fine 🤞
Oh and if you‘re wondering why Fiona's suddenly white-ish. I didn‘t have destilled water when I set up the humidifier and impatient me thought no biggie and used tap water instead 🤦🏼♀️
Day 30
Ok, well I had it all wrong. Tuns out, this one was thirsty. Fed her 1,5 l over 10mins.
Day 32
And Fiona is back as if nothing ever happened. This is my first photoperiod and I must say, I am falling for her. The fact your are not on a set schedule makes the entire experience way less stressful and the plant seems way more forgiving/resistent.
Day 33
She is getting thirsty yet again. I have underestimates the effect the bigger pots were going to have on my usual watering schedule, I guess.
Day 35
Happy five weeks, Fiona! Stunning plant. The thirstiest but also easiest I have had. We still have a long way to go though 😅
I have laid out a road map for her now:
- will top her again Day 37.
- switch light circle to 12/12 Day 49
- harvest should be around Day 100
Goooossshh, this feels like forever.
Day 37
Decided to top her again. She was so resilient and easy going so far, I could not resist to try it. Gave her 1,5l with nutes afterwards.
Day 38
She is eating up the nutes and loving it. Looked super perky in the morning. Did some light scrogging.
Day 40
Another 1.5l (ph 6.6) almost no run through
Day 42
Fiona has had a busy week recovering from topping. She is doing really well and the Scrog-net is filling up. In addition to the Scrog, I have started to LST her to ensire an even canopy.
One more week before I send her into flower. I usually prefer veg-stadium over flowering but this time, I am pretty excited to see how the Scrogging and topping play out.
She looked thirsty again and as there was no run through after 1.5l with nutes, I gave her 1l more to make sure she doesn‘t get a lockout.
Day 46
Right now it is mostly gentle scrogging and LST almost every day. She still hasn‘t shown any major signs of stress or deficiencies so I‘ll probably stick to my plan of sending her into bloom on Day 50.
Day 47
She was thirsty. Fed 1l with half the regular dose of nutes.
Day 49
Switched Fiona to 12-12 and fed her 1l with nutes
Day 50
Had to leave for the week
Day 52
My friend watered her
Day 54
Got back home and boy she got big. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures before adjusting her Scrog.
Day 55
Fed her 2l with nutes.
Day 56
Happy 8 weeks, Fiona!
Still the easy going plant everyone wishes for :)
I am pretty sure I can see first signs of flower. So one week after switching to 12-12, we are in (very) early flowering.
Day 58
Well, I am running out of space 😅
My Scrog-Screen is bursting and I am really happy I have been using it because this Green Princess Fiona is BIG in every aspect (I guess this is what a long veg does with them 😍).
From now on, I‘ll only use LST to adjust height differences but no more Scrogging.
I‘ll defoliate her soon (probably towards the end of the week).
Day 61
Decided to make perfect use of home office and defoliated Fiona. Also fed her 2.5l with half the recommended dose of nutes.
Day 62
She looks happy! Doesn‘t seem to care about the leaves she lost yesterday. I‘ll give her another day rest before one final round of LST tomorrow 👑
Day 63
Fiona handled the defoliation really well so I LSTd her one (last?) time. I think the intense stretching is over and from now on all that will grow are her many (!) flower sites 🌸 First pistels showing and you can already smell her.
Day 66
Fed her 2l with half the recommended dose of nutes.
She is so happy with life right now, she started praying 🙏😍
She is not growing in size anymore so the daily LST sessions are over.
Day 67
Just when I thought Fiona couldn‘t make me any prouder, I found a calyx that seems to indicate she is going to develop the red/purple optics promised for 60% of the strain‘s plants 🤞
Day 70
Fiona is 10 weeks old today! Time flies when I look at what she looked like two months ago 💆♀️
She is going to start full bloom soon and I am pretty sure I‘ll be able to really smell her soon.
This is actually my least favorite grow stage as there is not much happening on a daily basis 😅
Day 71
Fed her 2l and half the recommended dose of nutes. She started praying again about 2-3 hours later.
Day 74
This might be the first plant I honestly don‘t want to cut. I know we still have plenty of time left but I just wish I could keep her forever. Or even better- every grow was as chill as Princess Fiona
Day 77
Happy 11 weeks, Princess Fiona!
For her special day, I woke her with 2.5l water with half the dose of recommended nutes.
This grow is the smoothest ride ever. She‘s happy & loving life. Her buds are growing and as the bottom leaves started losing their color you can tell she has started full bloom and is sending all her nutes where I want them 😅
Humidity is a bit high as the tent is a bit small for her size but I am letting a lot of fresh air in and her fan is working night shifts to make sure we don‘t get bud rot.
Her smell has gotten more intense and you can see terpentines by now.
Day 81
Fed 2l with half the recommended dose of nutes.
Buds are getting thicker and thicker. Some flowers have a bright red 🌹
I don‘t even care about results anymore because this plant just sparks joy and happiness!
Day 84
Fiona is twelve weeks today. She is still beautiful and her buds are getting thicker and more and more colorful. This is the peak of flowering stage so she‘ll get the regular dose of nutes (I‘m following the CANNA plan but cut the dose in half up to now)
Day 85
2.5l of water with nutes.
With Fiona in full flower I realized that as much as I love her for being a big green monster, she is going to be a nightmare to trim. Still love her bushyness!
Day 90
2l of water with a third of the recommended dose of nutes.
Day 91
Well, we are on the finish line here. Fiona‘s smell is strong and amazing, her buds are huge and with a nice frosting. We have about two weeks left with her so I am not going to feed her from now on.
Day 92
I took off the LST strings and the SCROG as I had to flush Fiona.
Day 98
Can‘t believe Fiona is 14 weeks 🎂 it has been forever going by in the blink of an eye.
Watered her with 3l. No nutes as I have already flushed her. I gave her some nute burn and decided that we were close enough to get rid of all those minerals 🚿
I‘m leaving the country for a week so we checked her under the microscope today. We‘re all clear 😉 for my trip 🙃
