White Truffle, Permanent Marker, and Gas Cap clone run
Got these clones and immediately transplanted them into 3 7 gallon pots. I had a little less than 7 gallons of soil per pot, but plan to top dress with a bit of worm castings before flower anyway. The clones came looking pretty healthy. Super cool to get my hands on some breeder cuts for this run. Using Coast of Maine soil and amendments again for this run
Got them a little crispy with my light being too high of an intensity but quickly realized my mistake and they have mostly recovered greatly. Did some topping on all 3 and lst on the Permanent Marker, as it was much taller than the other two. I moved it in the center to catch more radiation. The White Truffle seems to be the most sensitive to light stress since it took the longest to recover and took the most damage to leaves. The Gas Cap has a very nice structure, it seems to grow exactly the way I want it to with no lst
We had a crazy amount of growth this week. Added a pic from the beginning of the week and one from today. It seems like every single day they grow a bit bigger. I love the new light, has better light penetration on lower branches and is just so strong. Reading 500 ppfd in center and 480 on the sides at this height, it’s a very even PAR spread which is really badass. The plants have stayed very green. The soil is definitely nutrient rich, which is great. I’ll definitely top dress then for the first week of flower but I’m always amazed with how much nutrients is in Coast of Maine stonington blend from the bag, knowing how much it takes to power a plant. They are all growing so vigorously. Very happy so far with these clones
These clones are now growing with a ton of vigor. I’m probably going to flower them this weekend. Gonna have to set up some nets to help especially with the permanent marker which seems stretchy already in veg, I’m not sure what will happen in flower. I’ve been watering them a lot. I water them with a 2 gallon jug every two days. I may need to keep some extra water jugs handy to make sure I have enough in flower, since I aerate the chlorine out of the tap for at least 12 hours before using it, so I can’t just refill the jug and water it right away.
Set up two nets and trained the plants and switched the lights to 12/12. Top dressed with stonington blend and going to feed some worm tea tomorrow as well as maybe some fish bone meal. Added a co2 bag and will be getting a meter tomorrow. Things are going well
Did a day 7 undertrim, removing all the little branches down below for more airflow and light penetration. The girls have looked great, seems like they broke down the fish bone meal cause they have stayed very green. This weekend I plan to give them more worm tea and another top dress of fbm. They grow so fast!
Top dressed with fish bone meal and epsom salts and fed aerated worm casting tea to recharge the microbes in the soil. Very impressed with how quickly the plants have flowered, they all seem to be just as far as one another which is great. I love seeing the purple already coming in very early on the permanent marker, much like the blueberry cupcake I grew last year. These plants have been great, can’t wait to smell the buds soon
Did a defoliation and fed some worm tea. Added a small dehumidifier which seems to be helping especially at night. The co2 bag creates moisture from the added co2 and the mushrooms themselves it seems. I do like being able to run over 1000 ppfd for these plants from the added co2 and the permanent marker is getting so chunky thanks to that. My defol was to create space to reduce chances of mold/mildew and to create light penetration for the smaller lower buds to get bigger.
Did another top dressing, same as week 2. Have been watering less since the defol, which I’m grateful for. The Gas Cap is developing a very nice kushy smell, reminding me of Bubba Kush or it’s grandparent OG kush very much. Maybe a headband 707 heavy pheno? The Permanent Marker is starting to smell gassy and sorta like a sharpie already, which is awesome. And the white truffle has a floral scent going on. The nugs are just starting to get slightly bigger on the white truffle. I actually have no idea why the buds are like half the size of the others. But hopefully they fatten up well by harvest
Plants are coming out beautiful. Can’t wait to see what else they have in store. Feeding worm tea tomorrow. I think the white truffle is gonna finish first as it shows me many orange hairs. Humidity was kinda high in mid to high 60s with lights off last week from the heavier rain all week long but has leveled off to 48 percent or so tonight. Having a relatively easy time growing these, although the gas cap seems to still have some yellow leaves. Organic stuff takes awhile to break down and work so hoping the worm tea helps out. May add something else before we water, will maybe update if I have time. Nonetheless, a happy grow continues.
Fed fish bone meal today, epsom salts tomorrow. The nugs are chunking up beautifully and I couldn’t be happier with how things are turning out so far. Looks like some quality cannabis is on the way to being smoked very soon. I have purchased a large midea dehumidifier and it works great so that will definitely help on rainy humid days
Week 7 flower. The buds have gotten bigger of course and even the White Truffle packed on some serious weight over the last few weeks. Super proud to have grown these girls using all organic input. Coast of Maine soil has been working great. The plants may not be as big as hydro clones would be, but the terps are louder than even large scale hydro grow facilities I have been in, as soon as you turn the inline fan off it stinks up the house. When I’m outside the house, it stinks like someone is smoking outside from the window vent system. Glad I live in a legal state cause I don’t want to put on a carbon filter. Maybe next time I will just to be discreet cause I have two of the damn things. I love taking the pup out back and smelling the weed while I tend to the yard and the small garden we started. Happy to see these buds looking healthy. I’m starting to think the gas cap is just naturally more yellow in flower cause it has burnt tips indicating excess from the top dressing.
Oh so close. Hoping to harvest soon. I have been checking trichomes and just looking at how ripe the buds themselves are, and I have seen mostly cloudy trichomes on all the cultivars. Some amber on the sugar leaves indicating we are close to done, but I’m not sure if they are all at the same exact point of readiness. Hopefully we have a sweet spot so I can just harvest all 3 together. Next week is gonna be very hot so I’m preparing to turn down my lights especially while I’m not home. Also keeping ac running all night to make sure the house keeps cold till then. I want those trichomes to be stacked and those nugs well frosted. Looks like we are already seeing a lot of frost too. I have been keeping the humidity around 45-50% on most days this week. Can’t wait to smoke some of those fat dank buds. The gas cap is literally my favorite kind of plant and bud structure. I would love to just scrog one Gas Cap in a larger container. Would be so fun
Going to harvest this weekend. Looking ready, and I have an ac to set up for harvest to keep the dry room cool. Loved this grow. Will have a lot more to say next week. Things are chugging along, I wish U could have fixed the Gas Cap’s deficiency but I believe there is no potassium in coast of maine fish bone meal so I was pretty much using the wrong thing thinking it was a cal mag deficiency. Either way things have turned out well
This weed is powerful. Such a fruity and sweet flavor. Smells similar to when you make homemade orange juice. I love how hard these modern strains hit you. Seedjunky will most likely go down as one of the best breeders of all time, definitely some of the best smoke I have had. This strain would be so fun to scrog. It was stretchy and made huge top colas. I have one 4 gram cola in the jar. Super loud, super easy to grow, super flavorful
I am so glad I grew this because it contrasts strongly with many of todays most prevalent flavors of cannabis. This stuff reminds me of old school Sour Diesel when I smoke it. Amazing flavor and a kick you in the face after a few minutes high
This strain looks, tastes, and smells amazing. And it gets me high as hell. Got a strong GG4 flavor but more sweet. This stuff is loud as hell when you open the jar. I will forever love White Truffle. It didn’t look like it was gonna yield as much as the other two but actually yielded the second most. Frostier than the North Pole
Can’t speak for the others but with your mention of water, my permanent markers have been some thirsty girls. They drink a lot! Anyhow, looking nice & good luck
