Sowed directly into moist seed and cutting compost in 9cm pots. The compost was watered with a pH adjusted solution of Vitalink root stim .
The pots where placed into a thermostat controlled heated propagator under 4 x 12w streetlight LED propagation lights.
All seedlings are doing well , subtle differences between them with one showing variegation. Fed very lightly with organic grow and seaweed . Will give them another week or so before move into the main room and final pots.
Growing nicely, continuing to feed with seaweed and organic grow . One with slight variegation. Planning on potting on in the next couple of days in a supersoil mix and moving into my main room .
Supersoil was mixed with ;
Worm cast , grit, sand , basalt dust, neem cake , ag lime, seaweed powder, epsom salt , super phosphate and peat.
Plants were then potted up in 12ltr pots and moved to the main room. They perked up significantly after a couple of days and look happy. So far not showing swag smooth leaf mutation but this was the case in previous swag grows I've done at this stage of the grow. One plant is showing variegation .
Topped at the 3rd node to encourage bushy growth and development of side branches, ill tie down the branches later to open up the structure . Growth is ok , not as vigorous as I'd like but I've found establishment in supersoil can be slow to begin. They will take off in the next week I expect.
Two plants are vigorous now a three are a bit slower but looking good accept for a slight but of yellowing around some leaf edges, I've found this very common with these swag mutant types though so suspect its genetic. I'm using 'bends' to train branches outwards to encourage bushy growth and good structure. Swag type foliage is starting to develop, I've found swag types don't throw out swag mutation foliage right away but do so a few weeks into vegetative growth and do so exclusively once it starts .
2 plants are slightly slow , 3 are very vigorous with very very thick stems which has made it difficult to bend them . Showing full swag leaf type on all new growth now which I've found takes a few weeks to start with these swag type plants. Flipping to flower in the next few days.
Flipped to flower , one male showing balls very fast ,I've removes this guy and put him out in the garden , ill possibly collect pollen from this at a later point.
Meanwhile the other plants are looking happy . I stripped about 50% of lower growth and removed weaker branches a couple of days before flipping , ill remove a bit more after the stretch .
Minimal stretch so far, nice bushy structure . Showing plenty of early flower and bud sites . All looking good and healthy. I'll wait another week or so and feed them some biotabs PK booster tea .
Stretching starting to slow but not quite finished. Plenty of bud sites and great overall structure to these plants. Healthy with no problems whatsoever.
In week four I will hit them with an aerated compost tea.
Still the slightest bit of stretching but just about done I think. Super bushy and plenty of bud sites , looking great in general. I'm loving the appearance of these plants . Top dressed with biomass sillicum flash .
My favourite part of the grow cycle - stretching finished and packing on flowers. The top dressing appears to have worked a treat , all plants are looking great , looking forward to seeing those buds increase in size for the next few weeks .
Looking good , lots and lots of buds , on the smaller side but I've found this before growing exceptionally bushy plants like this . A nice diesel type aroma from them now.
Absolutely reeking of diesel now... its over powering my carbon filter.
Pistels browning up a bit , looks like a week or two left. One plant is showing deep purple coloration and looks very beautiful. Very small amount of pollen sacks are visible, like 4 or 5 only between 2 of the plants , I pinched these off. I was warned this cultivar is better suited to outdoor growing and can hermie indoors . I'm not too bothered at this point in the grow.
Checked the trichomes , showing some amber , just about ready . Will chop in a few days . Nice purple colours throughout but especially on one pheno . More pollen sacs found but I'm not concerned, too late to cause any issues . Strong diesel like aroma , very overpowering . Reminds of the diesel of yesteryear
This was an easy grow apart from the very small amount of pollen sacs present late in the grow .. I was warned this would happen growing Indoors . However I have not found any seeds in the finished flower.
Plants are fairly homogeneous, one displayed deep purple colouration and one was a bit bigger than the others . All had the swag mutation and had very bushy growth .
Yield wise I'm happy for a supersoil grow with little input or effort under fairly small lights.
If I grow this again I'll definitely try it outdoors.
